A New King David with the LORD’s Spirit
ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ 11:1
དཱ་བིད་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་བརྒྱུད་ནི་བཅད་པའི་ཤིང་དང་འདྲའོ། འོན་ཀྱང་སྡོང་དུམ་ནས་ཡལ་ག་གསར་པ་རྣམས་རྒྱས་པ་ལྟར་དཱ་བིད་ཀྱི་རིགས་བརྒྱུད་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོ་གསར་པ་ཞིག་ཡོང་བར་འགྱུར་རོ།
Isaiah 11:1
There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.
Introduction
At a time when the North of Israel will have been conquered, shattered and depopulated, a man will arise among those who remain of King David’s descendants (Jesse was David’s father).
ཞི་བའི་རྒྱལ་ཁབ། – His rule of perfect justice and peace’
ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ 11:1-5
1དཱ་བིད་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་བརྒྱུད་ནི་བཅད་པའི་ཤིང་དང་འདྲའོ། འོན་ཀྱང་སྡོང་དུམ་ནས་ཡལ་ག་གསར་པ་རྣམས་རྒྱས་པ་ལྟར་དཱ་བིད་ཀྱི་རིགས་བརྒྱུད་ནས་རྒྱལ་པོ་གསར་པ་ཞིག་ཡོང་བར་འགྱུར་རོ།
2གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གི་ཐུགས་ཉིད་ཀྱིས། མི་མང་ཐོག་ཏུ་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་སྐྱོང་བའི་ཕྱིར།
ཁོང་ལ་ཤེས་རབ་དང་ཡོན་ཏན་དང་རིགས་རྩལ་བཅས་གནང་བར་འགྱུར།
གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གི་ཐུགས་དགོངས་ཁག།
ཁོང་གིས་མཁྱེན་ནས་ཁོང་ལ་གུས་བཀུར་ཞུས་པ་དང།
3ཁོང་གི་བཀའ་རྣམས་སྲུང་རྒྱུར་དགའ་བ་ཐོབ། ཁོང་གིས་སྣང་འཆར་དང་དཀྲོག་གཏམ་ཁག་ཐོས་ནས།
ཁྲིམས་ཀྱི་དཔྱད་མཚམས་གཏོང་བར་མི་མཛད་དོ།
4དབུལ་པོར་ཁྲིམས་དྲང་ཐོག་ནས་དཔྱད་མཚམས་གཏོང།
མགོན་མེད་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཐོབ་ཐང་སྲུང་བར་མཛད། ཁོང་གི་བཀའ་རྣམས་ཐོས་ནས་མི་ཚོར་ཉེས་ཆད་གནང།
མི་ངན་རྣམས་ནི་འཆི་བར་འགྱུར།
5ཁོང་གི་རང་གི་མི་མང་ཡོངས་ཀྱི་ཐོག། དྲང་བདེན་གཅིག་སྒྲིལ་ཐོག་ནས་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་སྐྱོངས༎
Isaiah 11:1-5
There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit.
2 And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
3 And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear,
4 but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked.
5 Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins.
Comment
The Spirit-filled Mashiga will rule in perfect righteousness, both upholding the helpless and killing the wicked. He the King will combine righteousness* with faithfulness**; that is, uniting what is honest (drang)* and true (bden)**, as if they were woven together (gcig skgril) like the threads in the strong belt of a warrior, vigorous and ready to carry out justice.
Fulfillment
At his baptism the Spirit fell on Yeshu (John 1:32-34), and remained with Him in full measure (John 3:34).
In Yeshu Messiah’s kingdom there will be justice – unlike the injustices in the nations of our world. There will be perfect justice because of righteousness*, truly and faithfully** carried out.
Yeshu taught us his disciples to pray, “Our Father in heaven … let Your kingdom come, let Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven …” (Matthew 6:9, 10). God does and will answer the prayers He tells us to pray!
So, a time will come when one-time enemies will be at peace with each other, and the nations will seek the blessing of the Messiah King (Isaiah 11:10; Luke 2:8-14).
In that perfect kingdom of peace, all sentient animals (sems can) will share that peace and no longer live in fear of humans (Isaiah 11:6-9).
