Title: – Messiah would make Many to become Pure
The people of Israel, like all nations on earth had failed to achieve purity. We have read prophecies (in Posts No. 6, 7, and 10) which foretold the coming of a righteous Messiah, a man having the absolute purity which is needed for liberation.
The Prophet Isaiah foretold that Messiah, like a pure innocent lamb, would take our impurity upon himself, to liberate us from our karma (las) and make us pure.
ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ 53:5-6
5 ང་ཚོས་སྡིག་པའི་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་ཁོང་ལ་རྨས། ང་ཚོས་ལས་ངན་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་ཁོང་ལ་བརྡུང་། ཁོང་གི་མྱོང་བའི་ཉེས་ཆད་རྐྱེན་ང་ཚོར་སྐྱིད་པོ་དང་ཞི་བདེ་ཐོབ། ཁོང་གི་རྨས་ང་ཚོ་དྲག་ཡོད།
6 ང་ཚོ་ཚང་མ་ལུག་ལྟར་རླག་ཡོད་དོ། ང་ཚོ་རང་རང་སོ་སོའི་ལམ་དུ་འགྲོ། འོན་ཀྱང་ང་ཚོར་ཕོག་དགོས་ཉེས་ཆད་དེ། གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཁོང་རང་གི་ཐོག་ཕོག་པར་མཛད།
Isaiah 53:5-6
But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Fulfilment:
The disciple Peter, saw Yeshu go to death, and explained to Jewish believers living as a scattered diaspora the meaning of his death – 1 Peter 2:24-25
1 Peter 2:24-25
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
A lamb led to sacrifice does not know what is happening.
ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ 53:7
ཁོང་ལ་མནར་སྤྱོད་རྩུབ་པོ་བྱས་ན་ཡང་། ཉམས་ཆུང་ངང་ནས་བཟོད་སྲན་གནང་བ་དང་། ཁོང་གི་་ཚིག་གཅིག་ཙམ་ཡང་སྨྲས་མེད་དོ། གསོད་གྲབ་ཡོད་པའི་ལུག་གུ་ལྟ་བུ་དང་། བལ་ནི་འབྲེག་གྲབ་ཡོད་པའི་ལུག་ལྟར། ཁོང་གི་ཚི་གཅིག་རྩ་ནས་སྨྲས་མེད་དོ།
Isaiah 53:7
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth.
Fulfilment:
Yeshu knew they would kill him, and gave no answer to false accusations (see Matthew 27:11-14).
Not only would they strip Messiah naked, but they would gamble for his clothing.
གསུང་མགུར 22:18
ང་ཡི་གོས་ལ་དེ་ཚོས་རྒྱན་བརྒྱབ་ནས། ཕན་ཚུན་ཆ་བགོས་རྒྱབ་ནས་འཁྱེར་བར་བྱ།
Psalm 22:18
they divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots.
Fulfilment:
The soldiers who crucified Yeshu cast lots for his clothes (John 19:23, 24).
All who watched would mock him in his suffering.
གསུང་མགུར 22:6-8
6 འོན་ཀྱང་ང་ནི་འགྲོ་བ་མི་ཞིག་མ་ཡིན་པར། སྲོག་ཆགས་འབུ་སྲིན་ཞིག་དང་མཚུངས་ཤིང གནས། དེས་ན་ཚང་མས་ང་ལ་འཕྱ་ཞིང་དམད།
7 ང་ལ་མཐོང་མཁན་ཚང་མས་འཕྱ་བ་དང་། ལྕེ་བཏོན་མགོ་གཡུག་བྱེད་དོོ།
8 ཁོ་ཚོས་སྨྲས་པ། ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་བློ་བཅོལ་ཞུས་པ་བཞིན། ཁོང་གིས ཁྱོད་ལ་ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་མི་སྐྱབས་པ་ཡིན་ནམ། གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཁྱོད་ལ་ཐུགས་སེམས་མཉེས ཡོད་ན། ཁྱོད་ལ་སྐྱབས་གྲོགས་ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་མི་གནང་ངམ།
Psalm 22:6-8
6 But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by mankind and despised by the people.
7 All who see me mock me; they make mouths at me; they wag their heads;
8 “He trusts in the Lord; let him deliver him; let him rescue him, for he delights in him!”
Fulfilment:
Yeshu, as he hung on the cross, was mocked in similar words by the Jewish sangha and others (Matthew 27:37-44).
In his suffering Messiah would feel completely deserted by God.
གསུང་མགུར 22:1
ཀྱེ་ང་ཡི་དཀོན་མཆོག། ཀྱེ་ང་ཡི་དཀོན་མཆོག་མཁྱེན། ཁྱེད་ཀྱིས་ང་ལ་ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་སྤངས་བར་མཛད། ངས་ནི་ཁྱེད་ལས་སྐྱབས་གྲོགས་ཞུ་བའི་ཕྱིར། ཐབས་ཟད་ངང་དུ་སྐད་འབོད་འདོན་མོད་ཀྱང་།
Psalm 22:1
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning?
Fulfilment:
Yeshu, having always known his Father’s presence, but now separated from Him, cried out the same words in desolation (Matthew 27:45, 46).
The bones of the lamb sacrificed at Passover Festival were not to be broken.
སྡེབ་ཐོན 12:46
དེ་ནི་ཁང་པའི་ཕྱི་རུ་འཁྱེར་མི་ཆོག་ཅིང་ཁང་པ་དེ་གའི་ནང་དུ་ཟ་དགོས། དེའི་རུས་པ་གཅིག་ཀྱང་བཅག་མི་ཆོག
Exodus 12:46
It shall be eaten in one house; you shall not take any of the flesh outside the house, and you shall not break any of its bones.
Fulfilment:
Yeshu’s legs, unlike those of the two crucified robbers, were not broken (John 19:31-36).
Messiah hands and feet would be pierced.
གསུང་མགུར 22:16
མི་ངན་ཚོགས་ཀྱི་ང་ཡི་མཐའ་ནས་བསྐོར། ཁྱི་ཡི་ཚོགས་བཞིན་དེ་ཚོ་ངའི་རྩར་འཁོར། ང་ཡི་ལུས་ཀྱི་ཡན་ལག་ལ་སོགས་ལ། སྡེར་མོས་སྦ་ར་རྒྱབ་སྟེ་རྨས་པར་བྱས།
Psalm 22:16
For dogs encompass me; a company of evildoers encircles me; they have pierced my hands and feet
Fulfilment:
Yeshu’s hands and feet were nailed to a cross. Moreover his side was pierced (John 19:34), and John recalled that this also was prophesied (John 19:37; and Zechariah 12:10).
Messiah’s death and burial would be alongside (dang mnyam du) sinners and a rich man.
ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ 53:9
ཁོང་གིས་ཁྲིམས་འགལ་གྱི་ལས་ནམ་ཡང་མ་བྱས་ཀྱང་། ཡང་ན་རྫུན་ཚིག་གཅིག་ཀྱང་བཤད་མེད་དོ། ཁོང་ནི་དུར་དུ་མི་ངན་མཉམ་དུ་བཞག། ཁོང་ནི་ཕྱུག་པོའི་རོ་དང་མཉམ་དུ་སྦས།
Isaiah 53:9
And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth.
Fulfilment:
Yeshu’s body was given to be buried by a rich man (Matthew 27:57-60).
Messiah would be judged a sinner, would take the place of sinners, and would offer himself as the sin sacrifice.
But it was LORD’s will to “prolong his days” (khong ki rtshe ring gnas par ‘gyur wa). Messiah would live on to make prayer for sinful mankind, and the many who came to know him would be accounted pure with his righteousness.
ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ 53:10-12
10 གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གིས་བཀའ་གནང་བ། ཁོ་ཡི་སྡུག་པོ་མྱོང་དགོས་དེ་ནི་ང་ཡི་འདོད་ཡིན། ཁོང་གི་འཆི་བ་ནི་སྡིག་བཤགས་འཁྱེར་བའི་ཆེད་དུ་དམར་མཆོད་ཡིན ཁོང་གིས་རང་གི་རིགས་བརྒྱུད་རྣམས་ལ་མཐོང་བ་དང་། ཁོང་ནི་ཚེ་རིང་གནས་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང། ཁོང་གི་རྒྱུད་ནས་ང་ཡི་དམིགས་ཡུལ་སྒྲུབ།
11 ཁོང་གི་མི་ཚེ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱང་བའི་རྗེས། ཡང་སྐྱར་ཁོང་ལ་དགའ་བ་ཐོབ་པར་འགྱུར། ཁོང་གི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་དོན་མེད་མྱོང་མེད་པ་ཤེས། ང་ཡི་དགའ་བའི་མོས་གུས་ཅན་གྱི་ཞབས་ཕྱི་དེ། མང་པོའི་ཆེད་དུ་ཁོང་གིས་ཉེས་ཆད་མྱོང་། ཁོང་གི་ཆེད་དུ་ང་ཡི་དེ་ཚོར་བཟོད།
12 དེར་བརྟེན་རླབས་ཆེན་དང་ནི་སྟོབས་ཆེན་ཁྲོད། ང་ཡིས་ཁོང་ལ་ཆེ་མཐོང་གོ་གནས་སྤྲད། ཁོང་གི་ཐུགས་འདོད་བཞིན་དུ་རང་གི་མི་ཚེ་ཕུལ། མི་ངན་ཚོ་དང་མཉམ་དུ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་། ཁོང་ནི་སྡིག་ཅན་མང་པོའི་ས་གནས་བཟུང། དེ་ཚོར་བཟོད་གསོལ་ཡོང་བའི་གསོལ་འདེབས་ཞུས༎
Isaiah 53:10-12
Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities.
Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.
Fulfilment:
Matthew and John tell the story of Yeshu’s rising from death (Mt 28:1-10; John 20:11-18). God would then raise him to glory in heaven (Acts 1:6-11; 1 Peter 1:21), where he lives on to make intercession for believers (Hebrews 7:25).

This is the Gospel, that Yeshu was made to be sin for us that we might have his purity.

2 Corinthians 5:21
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
