Be Fruitful for Jesus – Isaiah 40:6-8

 

What Jesus taught to His disciples in the Parable of the Sower –

མད་ཐཱ། 13:23

ས་བོན་ས་རྒྱུ་བཟང་པོ་ལ་འཐོར་བ་ནི་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་བཀའ་ཐོས་ནས་རྟོགས་པའི་མི་དེ་ཡིན། འབྲས་བུ་སྨིན་ཏེ། འབྲས་བུ་ཁ་ཤས་ལྡབ་བརྒྱ་དང༌། ཁ་ཤས་ལྡབ་དྲུག་ཅུ། ཁ་ཤས་ལྡབ་སུམ་ཅུ་བཅས་སྨིན་” ཞེས་གསུངས།

 

Matthew 13:23

As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.”

 

The key to being fruitful for Jesus is “the one who hears the word and understands it“. Having adequate knowledge and good understanding of Scripture is foundational to being fruitful for Jesus and that is reflected in living in obedience to God’s teaching and doing the will of God.

Jesus was referred to as “the word of God” means a medium of God’s teachings.

Today let’s look at what the prophet Isaiah said of the “word of God” –

 

ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ 40:6-8

6སྒྲ་ཞིག་གིས་འདི་ལྟར་འབོད་བཞིན་འདུག། གསུང་འཕྲིན་ཞིག་ཁྱབ་སྒྲགས་བྱོས།

ང་ཡིས་གསུང་འཕྲིན་ཇི་ཞིག་གསལ་སྒྲགས་བྱ་ཞེས་འདྲིས།

མི་རྣམས་རྩ་ལྟར་ཡིན་པ་ཁྱབ་སྒྲག་བྱོས། དེ་ཚོ་ནགས་ཀྱི་མེ་ཏོག་ལས་ཀྱང་ལྷག་པ་མི་གནས་སོ།

7དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གིས་དེའི་སྟེང་རླུང་གཏོང་སྐབས། རྩ་ནི་སྐམ་ཞིང་མེ་ཏོག་རྙིད་པར་འགྱུར་།

མི་མང་རྩ་ལས་ལྷག་པ་གནས་མི་ཐུབ།

8རྩ་ནི་ངེས་པར་སྐམ་ཞིང་མེ་ཏོག་རྙིད། འོན་ཀྱང་ང་ཚོའི་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གི་བཀའ།

གཏན་གྱི་ཆེད་དུ་གནས་པར་འགྱུར།

 

Isaiah 40:6-8

6 A voice says, “Cry!” And I said, “What shall I cry?” All flesh is grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field. 7 The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of the Lord blows on it; surely the people are grass. 8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.

 

The prophet Isaiah was admonishing his generation not to stray from their loyalty and obligation to live in obedience to God’s teachings.

The longevity of the word of God is both eternal and beyond human time.

Human lives are limited but as we follow through with the eternal words of God this is where our faith and hope of eternity with God starts.

John the Baptist when answering his call to public ministry by God shared the same conviction and witness –

19དེ་ཡང་ཁྲུས་གསོལ་མཁན་ཡོ་ཧ་ནན་གྱིས་བདེན་དཔང་བྱས་པའི་ཚིག་ནི་འདི་ལྟ༌སྟེ། ཡ་ཧུ་དཱ་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཡེ་རུ་སཱ་ལེམ་ནས་མཆོད་དཔོན་དང་ལེ་ཝི་པ་རྣམས་ཁྲུས་གསོལ་མཁན་ཡོ་ཧ་ནན་གྱི་དྲུང་དུ་མངགས༌ཏེ། ཁྱེད་རང་སུ་ཡིན་ནམ་ཞེས་ཞུས་པ༌ན། 20ཡོ་ཧ་ནན་གྱིས་སྦ་གསང་ཅི་ཡང་མེད་པར་འདི་སྐད༌དུ། ང་ནི་སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་མིན་ཞེས་གསལ་པོར་གསུངས་སོ།། 21ཡང་དེ་རྣམས་ན༌རེ། དེས་ན་ཁྱེད་རང་སུ་ཡིན༌ནམ། ཁྱེད་ནི་ཨེ་ལི་ཡཱ་ཡིན་ནམ་ཞེས་དྲིས་པ༌ལ། ཁོང་གིས་ང་མིན་ཞེས་གསུངས་པ༌དང༌། ཡང་དེ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཁྱེད་རང་ནི་ལུང་སྟོན་པ་དེ་ཉིད་ཡིན་ནམ་ཞེས་དྲིས་པའི༌ཚེ། ཡང་ཁོང་གིས་མིན་ཞེས་གསུངས་སོ།། 22ཡང་དེ་རྣམས་ན༌རེ། འོ་ན་ཁྱེད་རང་སུ་ཡིན༌ནམ། ངེད་ཅག་གིས་ཀྱང་ངེད་རྣམས་མངགས་མཁན་ལ་ལན་ཞིག་འཁྱེར་དགོས༌པས། ཁྱེད་ཀྱིས་རང་ཉིད་སུ་ཡིན་པ་གསུང་རོགས་ཞེས་ཞུས་པ༌ན། 23ཁོང་གིས་འདི་སྐད༌དུ། ལུང་སྟོན་པ་ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ་ཡི་མདོ་ལས་ཇི་སྐད༌དུ།

དབེན་སྟོང་ཡུལ་ནས་གྲགས་པའི་འབོད་སྒྲ༌ཡིས།།

གཙོ་བོའི་གཤེགས་ལམ་དྲང་པོར་བཟོ་བར༌གྱིས།།

ཞེས་གསུངས་པའི་མི་དེ་ཡིན་ཞེས་གསུངས༌སོ།།

 

John 1:19-23

19 And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” 20 He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.” 21 And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.” 22 So they said to him, “Who are you? We need to give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” 23 He said, “I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as the prophet Isaiah said.”

 

John the Baptist was call his generation to turn away from sins and to live in obedience to God’s word.

The apostle Peter repeated the same call to obedience

22ཡང་ཁྱོད་ཅག་གིས་བདེན་པ་ཉིད་བརྩིས་ནས་རང་གི་སེམས་གཙང་མར་བྱས་པ་དང་སྤུན་ཟླ་རྣམས་ལ་ཟོལ་གྱིས་གཅེས་པ་མ་ཡིན་པས། སེམས་གཏིང་ནས་ཕན་ཚུན་ལ་གཅེས་དགོས་སོ།། 23ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ཡང་བསྐྱར་སྐྱེས་པ་ནི་འཇིག་པར་འགྱུར་བའི་ས་བོན་ལས་བྱུང་བ་མ་ཡིན་པར། འཇིག་པ་མེད་པའི་ས་བོན༌ཏེ། སྲོག་དང་ལྡན་ཞིང་གཏན་དུ་བཞུགས་པའི་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་བཀའ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་བྱུང་བའོ།། 24ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་ཞེ་ན།

ལུས་ཅན་ཐམས་ཅད་རྩྭ་དང༌འདྲ།།

གཟི་བརྗིད་རྩྭ་ཡི་མེ་ཏོག༌འདྲ།།

རྩྭ་ནི་བསྐམས་ནས་མེ་ཏོག༌ཡལ།།

25གཙོ་བོའི་བཀའ་ནི་རྟག་ཏུ་གནས།།

ཞེས་གསུངས་པའི་ཕྱིར༌ཡིན་ཞིང་། ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ལ་བསྒྲགས་པའི་འཕྲིན་བཟང་ཡང་བཀའ་འདི་ཡིན༌ནོ།།

 

1 Peter 1:22-25

22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, 23 since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; 24 for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, 25 but the word of the Lord remains forever.” And this word is the good news that was preached to you.

 

The word of God is what set us apart from the world as disciple and follower of the true living God.

The word of God is foundational to being fruitful for Jesus.

The word of God is our faith and hope of eternal life with Jesus.

Being fruitful for Jesus is the measure of our relationship with God.

Peter a disciple and an appointed apostle of Jesus sent messages to disciples who were scattered due to persecution of their faith in following Jesus

1 Peter 2:1-3

So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

 

Those who accepted Jesus as the Messiah were under obligation to be separated from the world of pagan worship and corruptions of the flesh.

What was discouraging for these disciples was that they were not persecuted for doing things that were morally wrong but in public rejection of false gods and man-made religions which plagued the world in spiritual darkness.

How society function was very much influenced by the beliefs and religions of law-makers and government leaders and today we are still faced with the same social-political problem. Peter was encouraging disciples of Jesus to “put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander” which was reflected in their personal beliefs and practices before they accepted Jesus’ redemption through confessing of their sins and denouncing their acts of sin against God.

Disciples of Jesus were denouncing falsehood in society and being persecuted.

Disciples of Jesus were living witness of scripture truth which testifies of God’s judgement against the wicked but redemption for those who choose to live according to God’s righteousness. And Peter was encouraging these disciples to remain faithful to Jesus and to be fruitful to observe God’s truth revealed in scripture.

Peter’s instruction “Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk” was referring to scripture truth written in the Torah and the Prophets.

During the time of Jesus and the apostles the scripture and Bible text they used for teaching and admonishing was all from the Torah and the Prophets. Jesus and the apostles were living in the time of fulfillment of the message of the prophet Malachi

 

མ་ལ་ཀི 4:4-6

4སྔར་ངས་རང་གི་ཞབས་ཏོག་པ་མོ་ཤེའི་བརྒྱུད་ནས་རི་བོ་སི་ནཨེ་སྒང་དུ་ཨིསི་རཱཨེལ་མི་མང་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་སྲུང་ཕྱིར་སྤྲད་པའི་བཀའ་ཁྲིམས་ཀྱི་སློབ་སྟོན་རྣམས་ཁྱོད་ཚོས་སེམས་ལ་དྲན་གསོ་བྱོས་ཤིག

Malachi 4:4-6

4 “Remember the law of my servant Moses, the statutes and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.

5 “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. 6 And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.”

 

The words of God make distinction between those who worship God and those who do not.

Living in obedience to God’s words is foundational to being fruitful for Jesus.

Matthew 13:1-9

That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat beside the sea. 2 And great crowds gathered about him, so that he got into a boat and sat down. And the whole crowd stood on the beach. 3 And he told them many things in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil, 6 but when the sun rose they were scorched. And since they had no root, they withered away. 7 Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. 8 Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. 9 He who has ears, let him hear.”

 

This Parable of the Sower told by Jesus is well understood to be referring to people’s response to the words of God.

We need to pay attention in particular to the “seeds fell on good soil and produced grain” because these are the people who will eventually enter into God’s rest (Hebrews 4:10) be in eternal fellowship with God enjoying the full blessing of God.

The words of God revealed in scripture provided clear teaching and instructions about God’s redemption work on Earth to save Man from sin and death and eternal separation from the life of God.

In brief God is restoring Man to eternal life and fellowship with Him through His words and teaching. And the condition laid upon us to enter eternal life with God is in our response to the words and teaching of God. What do we do with the words and teaching of God?

The Gospel of John identifies Jesus as The Word of God. The person of Jesus of Nazareth who lived in the days of The Four Gospel, the same Jesus who was crucified and was later resurrected from the dead by the power of God, this same Jesus is the manifestation and personification of The Living Word of God.

Jesus in His time of public ministry teaches and preaches the words of God calling people to repentance and to enter eternal life with God through obedience. Not everyone believed what Jesus taught. In fact those who actually believed and obey what Jesus taught were in the minority and they suffered the same persecution and rejection with Jesus.

The life and teachings of Jesus exemplified complete obedience to God leading to eternal life. Obedience to God is foundational to pure worship of the one true living God.

In this parable Jesus identified those who are being productive means those who choose to walk in obedience to the words and teaching of God and it is important for us to know what kind of products, fruits, grains, is expected so that we do actually know when we are being fruitful for Jesus.

 

1. Regeneration and Renewal of the Holy Spirit

 

ཐེ་ཏུ། 3:3-7

3  ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་ཞེ་ན། དེ་སྔར་བདག་ཅག་ཀྱང་ཡིད་རྨོངས་ཤིང་བཀའ་ལ་མི་ཉན་པ་དང་བསླུ་བྲིད་ཐེབས༌པ། མ་རབས་ཐ་ཤལ་གྱི་ལས་དང་འདོད་ཡོན་སྣ་ཚོགས་ཀྱི་དབང་དུ་སོང༌སྟེ། རྟག་ཏུ་གདུག་རྩུབ་དང་ཕྲག་དོག་གིས་འཚོ༌ཞིང༌། གཞན་རྣམས་བདག་ཅག་ལ་སྡང་བ༌དང༌། ཕན་ཚུན་ལའང་སྡང་བའི་ཕྱིར་རོ།། 4  འོན༌ཀྱང༌། བདག་ཅག་གི་སྐྱབས་མགོན་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཐུགས་རྗེ་དང་ཁོང་གིས་མི་རྣམས་ལ་བཅངས་པའི་བྱམས་པ་དེ་ཉིད་མངོན་སུམ་དུ་བྱུང༌ཚེ། 5  ཁོང་གིས་བདག་ཅག་བསྐྱབས་ཤིང་། དེ་ནི་བདག་ཅག་གིས་དྲང་བདེན་གྱི་ལས་བྱས་པའི་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་མ་ཡིན༌པར། ཁོང་གི་ཐུགས་རྗེའི་དབང་གིས་ཡིན༌པ་དང༌། ཡང་བསྐྱར་སྐྱེས་པའི་ཁྲུས་དང་དམ་པའི་ཐུགས་ཉིད་ཀྱིས་གསར་དུ་མཛད་པ་བརྒྱུད་ནས་བདག་ཅག་བསྐྱབས༌པའོ།། 6  དམ་པའི་ཐུགས་ཉིད་ནི་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་བདག་ཅག་གི་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་བརྒྱུད་ནས་བདག་ཅག་ལ་ཕངས་མེད་དུ་གནང་བ༌སྟེ། 7  ཁོང་གི་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་བདག་ཅག་མི་རྣམ་དག་ཏུ་མཛད༌ཅིང༌། མཐའ་མེད་པའི་ཚེ་སྲོག་གི་རེ་སྨོན་བཞིན་རྒྱུད་འཛིན་མཁན་དུ་འགྱུར་བའི་ཕྱིར༌ཡིན་ལ།

 

Titus 3:3-7

3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.  

 

Disciples and followers of Jesus should have that born again experience whereby we begin to live a new life that prioritize obedience to the teaching of God manifested through the life of Jesus.

Before this born again experience we don’t have that desire, intention, and priority in our daily life to worship and serve the one true living God. People without this born again experience will continue to live their own life, working hard to satisfied their human needs and desire, expecting their human life to grow old and die and that’s it – without hope of eternal life in God.

The regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit mentioned by the Apostle Paul to Titus is about the born again experience Jesus spoke about to Nicodemus in the Gospel of John

 

ཡོ་ཧ་ནན། 3:1-8

1 དེའི་ཚེ་ཕཱ་རུ་ཤི་ཟེར་བའི་ཕྱོགས་ཁག་ནང་ནས་མི་ནཱི་ཀོ་དེམ་བྱ་བ་ཡ་ཧུ་དཱ་པའི་དབུ་ཁྲིད་པ་ཞིག་ཡོད་དེ། 

2 མཚན་མོ་ཡེ་ཤུ་མཇལ་དུ་འོངས་ནས་ “རབ་བི། ཁྱེད་ནི་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་མདུན་ནས་ཕེབས་པའི་སྟོན་པ་ཞིག་ཡིན་པ་ང་ཚོས་ཤེས། ཅི་ལགས་ཟེར་ན། ཁྱེད་ཀྱིས་སྟོན་པར་མཛད་པའི་རྟགས་འདི་ཚོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་དང་འབྲལ་ཏེ་སུས་ཀྱང་སྟོན་པར་མི་སྲིད་” ཅེས་གསུངས་པ་ན།

3 ལན་དུ་ཡེ་ཤུས་ “ངས་ཁྱེད་ལ་བདེན་པ་བདེན་པར་ཟེར་རྒྱུར། གལ་ཏེ་མི་ཞིག་ཡང་བསྐྱར་མ་སྐྱེས་ན། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་མཐོང་བར་མི་སྲིད་དོ་” ཞེས་གསུངས།

4 ནཱི་ཀོ་དེམ་གྱིས་ཁོང་ལ་ “མི་ཞིག་རྒས་ནས་ཡང་བསྐྱར་ཇི་ལྟར་སྐྱེ་སྲིད། ཁོའི་ཨ་མའི་མངལ་དུ་འཛུལ་ནས་ཐེངས་གཉིས་པར་སྐྱེ་སྲིད་དམ་” ཞེས་དྲིས།

5 ལན་དུ་ཡེ་ཤུས་ “ངས་ཁྱེད་ལ་བདེན་པ་བདེན་པར་ཟེར་རྒྱུར། གལ་ཏེ་མི་ཞིག་ཆུ་དང་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་དམ་པའི་ཐུགས་ཉིད་བརྒྱུད་ནས་མ་སྐྱེས་ན། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་དུ་འཛུལ་བར་མི་སྲིད་དོ།

6 ལུས་ནས་སྐྱེས་པ་ནི་ལུས་ཡིན་པ་ལྟར། དམ་པའི་ཐུགས་ཉིད་ལས་སྐྱེས་པ་དེ་ནི་སེམས་ཉིད་ཡིན་ནོ།

7 ངས་ཁྱེད་རང་ལ་ཁྱེད་ཚོ་ཡང་བསྐྱར་སྐྱེ་དགོས་ཞེས་བཤད་པས་ཡ་མཚན་མ་སྐྱེད།

8 ལྷགས་པ་ནི་རང་འདོད་པ་བཞིན་དུ་རྒྱག་པ་དང་དེའི་སྒྲ་ཁྱེད་ཀྱིས་ཐོས་ཀྱང༌། དེ་ག་ནས་བྱུང་དང་གང་དུ་འགྲོ་མི་ཤེས། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་དམ་པའི་ཐུགས་ཉིད་ནས་སྐྱེས་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་ནི་དེ་བཞིན་ཡིན་” ཞེས་གསུངས།

 

John 3:1-8

Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” 3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

 

So this regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit is helping us to ensure that we eventually receive our ultimate goal of eternal life in the presence of God in His kingdom together with Jesus.

 

2. To Practice Righteousness, Justice and Truth according to God’s Teaching and to Appreciate God’s Gift of Mercy.

 

གསུང་མགུར 89:14

དྲང་བདེན་དང་ནི་ཞལ་ཆེ་ནི་ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་ཀྱི་མང་གཞི་ཡིན།

ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་བྱ་བ་རྣམས་ལ་ནི་བྱམས་པ་དང་། དམ་ཚིག་ཅན་གསལ་པོར་སྟོན་ཡོད།

 

Psalm 89:14

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face.

 

མི་ཀཱ 6:8

དེ་ལྟར་མ་ཡིན། གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ང་ཚོར་བཟང་པོ་གང་ཡིན་པ་དེའི་སྐོར་སློབ་སྟོན་གནང་ཟིན་ཅིང་། ཁོང་གི་ཐུགས་དགོངས་བཞིན་དུ་ང་ཚོས་སྤྱོད་ལམ་དྲང་ཞིང་རྒྱུན་དུ་བྱམས་སེམས་བྱེད་དགོས་པ་དང་། ང་ཚོའི་དཀོན་མཆོག་དང་མཉམ་དུ་ཉམས་ཆུང་གི་ཚུལ་དུ་འགྲུལ་དགོས་པ་ཡིན་ནོ།

 

Micah 6:8

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

 

Our living environment on Earth today is saturated with pervasive lack of peace and human strive, not according to what was created to be. The world today is heading towards being more chaotic and overflow of spiritual darkness and the root of it all is in human’s act of sin against the words and teaching of God revealed in Scripture.

The words and teaching of God call for repentance, turning away from sin and sinful behavior, and to live in obedience according to God’s righteousness, justice and truth.

The words and teaching of God prepare a person to receive redemption, atonement, and forgiveness, so that we may live in the life and fellowship of God.

Jesus after His resurrection is now God’s appointed Messiah and Great High Priest to restore Man to fellowship with God.

The disciples of Jesus who heard Him preach this Parable of the Sower ask an interesting question “Why do you speak to them in parables?” Jesus in response draws distinction between those who listen and obey and those who reject the words and teaching of God. And this is the key to being fruitful for Jesus –

 

མད་ཐཱ། 13:23

ས་བོན་ས་རྒྱུ་བཟང་པོ་ལ་འཐོར་བ་ནི་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་བཀའ་ཐོས་ནས་རྟོགས་པའི་མི་དེ་ཡིན། འབྲས་བུ་སྨིན་ཏེ། འབྲས་བུ་ཁ་ཤས་ལྡབ་བརྒྱ་དང༌། ཁ་ཤས་ལྡབ་དྲུག་ཅུ། ཁ་ཤས་ལྡབ་སུམ་ཅུ་བཅས་སྨིན་” ཞེས་གསུངས།

 

Matthew 13:23

As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.”

 

The key to being fruitful for Jesus is “the one who hears the word and understands it”

Majority of people in this world don’t hear and listen to the words and teaching of God therefore they don’t practice obedience to God because they don’t understand.. And there are those who listen but don’t understand and don’t bear fruits.

Jesus expects His disciples to listen and understand and to bear fruits through practice of God’s righteousness.

Knowing and understanding the words and teaching of God are foundational to our acts of obedience to live according to the righteousness, truth and justice of God.

Therefore is important and to be part of our daily practice to know the words of God, to understand the teaching of God, so that we can apply our heart and mind to do what God expects of us.

It is in knowing and understanding the teaching of God, in putting into practice what we learn from Jesus, and depending on the regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, that we bear much fruits for Jesus and to reach our goal of eternal life with God.
