1 Peter 4:1-6

པེ་ཏྲོ། ༡ 4:1-6

1 དེའི་ཕྱིར་མཱ་ཤི་ཀས་སྐུ་ལུས་ཀྱི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་བས། དེ་ལྟ་བུའི་སེམས་ཀྱིས་རང་བརྟན་པར་བྱེད། གང་ལགས་ཟེར་ན། ལུས་ཀྱི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་བ་དེས་སྡིག་ཉེས་དང་བྲལ།

2 དེ་ནི་ད་ཕྱིན་ཆད་ཁྱེད་ཚོ་ཤ་ཁྲག་གི་ལུས་རྒྱུན་མ་ཆད་བར་འཇིག་རྟེན་དུ་སྡོད་རིང་མིའི་འདོད་ཆགས་ལྟར་མ་ཡིན་གྱིས། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཐུགས་དགོངས་ལྟར་མི་འཚེ་སྐྱེལ་བའི་ཕྱིར་རོ།

3 ཁྱེད་ཚོ་སྔོན་དད་མེད་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་འདོད་པ་ལྟར་བག་མེད་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་དང༌། འདོད་ཆགས། ར་བཟི་བ། ལོག་གཡེམ། བག་མེད་ཅན་གྱི་ཐུགས་སྤྲོ། ཆོས་ལོག་པའི་སྐུ་འདྲར་བཀུར་བ་ལ་སོགས་བྱེད་པའི་འདས་ཟིན་གྱི་དུས་དེ་འདངས་ངེས་ཡིན།

4 དེ་ལྟར་གྱི་དཔེ་མི་སྲིད་པའི་སྤྱོད་ལམ་ངན་པ་ཁོ་ཚོ་དང་མཉམ་དུ་མི་བྱེད་པ་དད་མེད་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་མཐོང་ནས་ཧ་ལས་པས། ཁྱེད་ཚོར་སྨད་ར་གཏོང༌།

5 འོན་ཀྱང་ཁོ་ཚོས་འཆི་གསོན་གཉིས་ཀར་ཁྲིམས་གཅོད་གཏོང་རྒྱུ་ཡིན་པ་ཁོང་ལ་རྩིས་འབུལ་ཞུ་དགོས།

6 གཤིན་པོ་རྣམས་ལའང་འཕྲིན་བཟང་བསྒྲགས་པའི་རྒྱུ་མཚན་ནི། མི་ཡིན་པའི་ཆ་ནས་འཇིག་རྟེན་པ་ལྟར་ཁྲིམས་གཅོད་གཏོང་ཡང༌། ཁོ་ཚོས་སེམས་ཉིད་ཀྱི་ཆ་ནས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་དགོངས་པ་ལྟར་འཚོ་བའི་ཆེད་དུ་ཡིན།

Study Points

. Peter speaks of Christ suffering as an example of doing away with sin and sinful lifestyle for the sake of living in obedience to God’s will

. Our hope and purpose is to please God and to be ready to answer to God as a wise and faithful servant

. For the sake of pleasing God and to do His will we must be prepared to make sacrifices which involved drastic change of lifestyle when necessary

1 Peter 4:1-6

1 Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God. 3 For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry. 4 With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you; 5 but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6 For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does.

13 བཟང་པོ་བྱེད་པའི་ཕྱིར་བརྩོན་སེམས་ཡོད་ན། ཁྱེད་ཚོར་གནོད་པ་བྱེད་མཁན་སུ་ཡོད།

14 བཟང་པོ་བྱས་པའི་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་ནའང་ཁྱེད་རྣམས་ལ་བྱིན་རླབས་འཐོབ་པར་འགྱུར། ཁོ་ཚོར་མ་འཇིགས་ཤིང༌། སེམས་འཁྲུག་པར་མ་འགྱུར།

15 སེམས་ནང་ན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་གཙོ་བོ་ཡིན་པ་ལ་བསྙེན་བཀུར་བྱེད། ཁྱེད་ལ་ཡོད་པའི་ཐར་པའི་རེ་བ་དེའི་རྒྱུ་མཚན་སྐོར་འདྲི་མཁན་ལ་སེམས་དུལ་བ་དང་གུས་པས་ལན་འདེབས་རྒྱུར་རྒྱུན་དུ་གྲ་སྒྲིག་བྱས་ཏེ་སྡོད།

16 མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་སྤྱོད་ལམ་བཟང་པོར་སྨད་ར་གཏོང་མཁན་རྣམས་ནི་ངོ་ཚ་རུ་འགྱུར་བའི་ཕྱིར་ཁྱེད་ཚོས་གནོངས་མེད་པ་བྱེད་དགོས།

17 སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་བ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཐུགས་དགོངས་ཡིན་ན། ངན་པ་ལས་བཟང་པོ་བྱེད་པའི་ཕྱིར་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་བ་ལེགས་སོ།

18 ངེད་རྣམས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་མདུན་དུ་འཁྲིད་པའི་ཕྱིར། མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་དྲང་བདེན་གྱིས་དྲང་བདེན་མིན་པའི་སྡིག་ཉེས་སེལ་བའི་དོན་དུ་ཐེངས་གཅིག་གྲོངས། སྐུ་ལུས་ཀྱི་ཆ་ནས་གྲོངས་ཀྱང༌། ཐུགས་ཉིད་ཀྱི་སྒོ་ནས་གསོན།

19 ཁོང་གིས་ཐུགས་ཉིད་བརྒྱུད་ནས་བཙོན་ལ་ཕེབས་ཏེ་དེར་ཡོད་པའི་སེམས་ཉིད་རྣམས་ལ་ཆོས་བསྟན་གནང༌།

20 ཁོ་ཚོ་ནི་སྔར་ནོ་ཨ་ཡིས་གྲུ་གཟིངས་བཟོ་བའི་དུས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཐུགས་རྒྱུད་རིང་པོས་སྒུག་གནང་བའི་སྐབས་སུ་བཀའ་ལ་མ་ཉན་པ་རྣམས་ཡིན། གྲུ་གཟིངས་དེ་ལ་བསྡད་ནས་ཆུ་ལོག་ལས་མི་ཉུང་ངུ་ཞིག་སྟེ་མི་བརྒྱད་ལས་ཐར་མེད།

21 ཆུ་དེ་ནི་ཡེ་ཤུ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་སླར་གསོན་པའི་སྒོ་ནས་ད་ལྟ་ཁྱེད་ཚོ་ཐར་བར་བྱེད་པའི་ཁྲུས་གསོལ་མཚོན། ལུས་ཀྱི་མི་གཙང་བ་དག་པར་བྱེད་པ་མ་ཡིན་གྱིས། གནོངས་མེད་པར་འགྱུར་བའི་ཕྱིར་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་རེ་འབོད་བྱེད་པ་ཞིག་ཡིན།

22 ཡེ་ཤུ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་ནི་ཞིང་ཁམས་སུ་ཕེབས་ནས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཕྱག་གཡས་སུ་བཞུགས་ཏེ། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཕོ་ཉ་དང༌། དབང་ལྡན། མཐུ་ལྡན་རྣམས་ཁོང་གི་དབང་འོག་ཏུ་ཡོད་དོ།།

Study Points

. Peter speaks of Christ’s example in suffering and in trusting God’s justice and judgement

. Peter speaks of Noah’s example of trust and obedience in God’s justice and judgement

. We are to set priority and purpose to reach our goal of union with Christ in His kingdom through partaking of Jesus’ resurrection and to persevere in faith by living in obedient to His will

. Baptism (referring to water baptism) as our pledge of commitment to God to die to old sins and live in new life of obedience to God’s will

1 Peter 3:13-22

13 Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, 15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, 16 having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. 17 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.

18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, 19 in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, 20 because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. 21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.

བདེ་སྐྱིད་རྫོགས་ལྡན་དུས་ཤིག་མཐོང་འདོད་ན།།

ཚིག་རྩུབ་གཡོ་སྒྱུའི་ངན་གཏམ་མ་སྨྲ་ཞིག།

11 ངན་པ་སྤངས་ནས་སྤྱོད་བཟང་སྤེལ་བ་དང༌།།

ཞི་མཐུན་ལམ་བཟང་རྟག་ཏུ་འཚོལ་ཤིག་ཨང༌།།

12 གང་ལགས་ཤེ་ན་དཀོན་མཆོག་སྤྱན་ཉིད་ཀྱིས།།

དྲང་ལྡན་པ་རྣམས་གཟིགས་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང༌།།

སྙན་ཅོག་གཏོད་ནས་ཁོ་ཚོའི་སྨོན་ལམ་གསན།།

འོན་ཏེ་ངན་སྤྱོད་མཁན་ལ་ཞལ་སློག་གོ།

ཅེས་འཁོད།

Study Points

. Peter speaks of our trust and faith in the Lord’s justice and judgement

. Our lives are not spared of pain and sufferings especially of unjust suffering

1 Peter 3:8-12

8 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. 9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.

10 For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; 11 let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
