1 Peter 2:1-8

1 དེའི་ཕྱིར་ངན་སེམས་དང༌། མགོ་སྐོར། ཁ་བཤད་དོན་ལ་མི་གནས་པ། ཕྲག་དོག སྨད་ར་གཏོང་བ་ཚང་མ་སྤོངས་ཤིག

2-3 ཁྱེད་ཚོས་གཙོ་བོའི་ཐུགས་རྗེ་མྱངས་པས། ཁྱེད་ཚོས་དམར་འབྱར་རྣམས་ལྷད་མེད་པའི་འོ་མ་ལ་གདུང་བ་ལྟར། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་བཀའ་ལ་གདུང་བར་གྱིས་ཤིག དེ་ནས་ཁྱེད་ཚོ་ཐར་པའི་ཐོག་ནས་འཚར་ལོངས་འབྱུང༌།

4 ཁྱེད་ཚོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་གསོན་པོའི་རྨང་རྡོ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་མདུན་དུ་ཡོང་བཞིན་ཡོད། མི་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཁོང་དང་ལེན་མ་བྱས་ཀྱང༌། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་སྤྱན་སྔར་ཁོང་བདམས་པ་དང་རྩ་ཆེན་ཡིན།

5 ཁྱེད་ཚོ་ཡང་གསོན་པའི་རྡོ་ལྟར་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཐུགས་ཉིད་ཀྱི་ཕོ་བྲང་ལ་རྩིག་བཞིན་ཡོད་པ་མ་ཟད། དམ་པའི་ཆོས་དཔོན་ཡང་ཡིན། ཡེ་ཤུ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་བརྒྱུད་ནས་ཁྱེད་ཚོས་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཐུགས་མཉེས་པའི་སེམས་ཉིད་ཀྱི་མཆོད་པ་འབུལ།

6 མདོ་ལས་འཁོད་པ་ལྟར།

ལྟོས་དང་ཙི་ཡོན་ཡུལ་གྲུར་ང་ཡིས་ནི།།

བདམས་པའི་རྩ་ཆེན་རྨང་རྡོ་ལེགས་པར་རྩིག །

ཁོང་ལ་དད་པ་ངོ་ཚར་མི་ལྷུང་ངོ༌།།

ཞེས་འཁོད།

7 དེས་ན་དད་ལྡན་རྣམས་ལ་ཁོང་ནི་རྩ་ཆེན་ཡིན་ཏེ། མ་དད་པ་རྣམས་ལ་ནི།

བཟོ་བ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་དོར་བའི་རྡོ།།

ཁང་པའི་རྨང་རྡོ་རང་དུ་གྱུར།།

ཞེས་འཁོད།

8 ཡང༌།

ལམ་ཀྱི་བཀག་རྡོ་དང་ནི་ལྷུང་བའི་བྲག།

དེ་བཞིན་དུ་ཁོ་ཚོ་ལྷུང་བའི་རྒྱུ་མཚན་ནི་ཐོག་མར་བཀོད་པ་ལྟར་བཀའ་ལ་མ་ཉན་པས་སོ།

Study Points

. The purpose of rejecting the old life of “malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander” is to set priority in living a renewed life that is patterned after Christ’s teaching of righteousness and holiness

. Peter speaks of – “to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ” – with reference to our daily life of prayers and acts of obedience

. For those who refused to obey Christ, and then His teachings become “A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.”

1 Peter 2:1-8

1 So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. 2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

4 As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, 5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For it stands in Scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”

7 So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” 8 and “A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.” They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.

1 Peter 1:22-25

22 བདེན་པའི་བཀའ་ལ་ཉན་པའི་སྒོ་ནས་སེམས་དག་པར་བྱས་ཏེ། སྤུན་ཟླ་རྣམས་ལ་སྙིང་ཐག་པ་ནས་བྱམས་པར་བྱེད་པས། གཅིག་གིས་གཅིག་ལ་སེམས་ཀྱི་གཏིང་ནས་བྱམས་པ་བྱེད།

23 གང་ལགས་ཟེར་ན། ཁྱེད་ཚོ་མི་རྟག་པའི་ས་བོན་མིན་ཏེ་རྒྱུན་དུ་གནས་པའི་ས་བོན་ལས་ཡང་བསྐྱར་སྐྱེས། ས་བོན་དེ་ནི་འཚོ་བའི་སྤྱོད་ལམ་སྟོན་པའི་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་བཀའ་རྟག་ཏུ་གནས་པ་དེ་ཡིན་ནོ།།

24 ཤ་ཁྲག་གདོས་བཅས་རྩྭ་དང་འདྲ།།

དཔལ་ཡོན་གཟི་བརྗིད་མེ་ཏོག་འདྲ།།

རྩྭ་སྐམ་མེ་ཏོག་རྙིད་འགྱུར་ཀྱང༌།།

25 གཙོ་བོའི་བཀའ་ནི་རྒྱུན་དུ་གནས།།

བཀའ་དེ་ནི་ཁྱེད་ཚོར་བསྒྲགས་པའི་འཕྲིན་བཟང་ཡིན་ནོ།།

Study Points

. To purify our souls is to set-apart ourselves to live in obedience to God’s will

. Our earthly life with reference to “all flesh” cannot live forever but is already subjected to corruption

. Our hope of eternity is in union with Jesus the Christ the revealed living word of God

. Living in trust and obedience to the word of God is our key to eternal life

1 Peter 1:22-25

22 Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, 23 since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; 24 for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, 25 but the word of the Lord remains forever.” And this word is the good news that was preached to you.

11 ཁོང་ཚོའི་སེམས་ནང་ལ་བཞུགས་པའི་མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་ཐུགས་ཉིད་ཀྱིས་མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་དང་དེའི་རྗེས་སུ་འབྱུང་བའི་གཟི་བརྗིད་ཀྱི་སྐོར་ལུང་བསྟན་པའི་ཚེ། དེའི་དུས་སམ་གནས་ཚུལ་གང་ཡིན་པ་དཔྱད་པར་འདོད།

12 རང་ཉིད་ལ་མིན་ཏེ་ཁྱེད་ཚོར་ཞབས་ཕྱི་ཞུས་པ་དེ་ལུང་སྟོན་པ་རྣམས་ལ་མངོན་པར་གྱུར། ད་ལྟ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཞིང་ཁམས་ནས་མངགས་པའི་དམ་པའི་ཐུགས་ཉིད་ཀྱི་དབང་གི་སྒོ་ནས་ཆོས་སྟོན་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཁྱེད་ཚོ་ལ་འཕྲིན་བཟང་དེ་བསྒྲགས། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཕོ་ཉ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཀྱང་དོན་དེ་ཚོ་མཁྱེན་པར་འདོད།

13 དེའི་ཕྱིར་སོ་སོའི་སེམས་གྲ་སྒྲིག་བྱེད་དེ་རང་ཚོད་ཟིན་ནས་ཡེ་ཤུ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་མངོན་པར་འགྱུར་བའི་དུས་སུ་ཁྱེད་ཚོར་གནང་རྒྱུ་ཡིན་པའི་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ལ་རེ་བ་མཐའ་གཅིག་ཏུ་བྱེད་ཅིག

14 ཁ་ལ་ཉན་པའི་ཕྲུ་གུ་ལྟར་སྔར་གྱི་རྨོངས་པའི་དབང་གིས་འདོད་ཆགས་མི་བྱེད་པར།

15 ཁྱེད་ཚོ་བོས་གནང་མཁན་ནི་དམ་པ་ཡིན་པས་སྤྱོད་ལམ་ཚང་མ་དམ་པར་བྱོས་ཤིག

16 གང་ཡིན་ཞེ་ན། མདོ་ལས། ང་ནི་དམ་པ་ཡིན་པས་ཁྱོད་ཚོའང་དམ་པར་ངེས་པར་འགྱུར་དགོས་ཞེས་འཁོད།

17 ཕྱོགས་རིས་མེད་པར་སོ་སོས་བྱ་བ་གང་བྱས་པར་གཞིགས་ནས་ཁྲིམས་གཅོད་མཛད་མཁན་ལ་ཁྱེད་ཚོས་ཡབ་ཅེས་ཞུ་བས། གནས་གཡར་བ་ལྟར་འཇིག་རྟེན་འདིར་སྡོད་རིང་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་བཀུར་སྟི་བྱེད་དེ་མི་ཚེ་སྐྱེལ་དགོས།

18 མེས་པོ་ལས་བྱུང་བའི་དོན་མེད་ཀྱི་ལུགས་སྲོལ་ལྟར་ཁྱེད་ཚོ་གསེར་རམ་དངུལ་ལ་སོགས་པའི་འཇིག་ཏུ་འགྲོ་བའི་རིན་གྱིས་བླུས་པ་མ་ཡིན་གྱིས།

19 སྐྱོན་དང་དྲི་མ་བྲལ་བའི་ལུག་གུ་ལྟར་གྱི་མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་སྐུ་ཁྲག་རིན་ཐང་ཆེ་བ་དེས་བླུས་པ་ཁྱེད་ཚོས་ཤེས།

20 དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་འཇིག་རྟེན་བཀོད་པའི་སྔོན་ལ་ཁོང་ནི་བདམས་ཀྱང༌། ད་དུས་མཐའ་མར་ཁྱེད་ཚོའི་དོན་དུ་མངོན་པར་གྱུར།

21 ཁྱེད་ཚོ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་བརྒྱུད་ནས་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་དད་པ་སྐྱེས། དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཁོང་འཆི་བ་ནས་སླར་གསོན་པར་མཛད་ནས་གཟི་བརྗིད་གནང་བས། ཁྱེད་ཚོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་དད་ཅིང་རེ་བ་བྱེད།

Study Points

. Salvation is of God and we are to live in trust and obedient in God’s word

. The full and complete salvation work of God is fulfilled in the life death and resurrection of Jesus the Christ

. Peter’s admonishment – “do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance” – speaks of Jesus’ demand for repentance from sin and sinful lifestyle

. Disobedience to God’s will amount to sin and the consequence of sin is judgment, condemnation, and eternal separation from the living God. Therefore Peter’s instruction to those who have chosen to follow Jesus to walk in obedience to God’s will and to reject the old lifestyle of sin

. God enact salvation in us through Jesus so that we can life in newness of life to obey the Father as Jesus did

. We are redeemed by the blood of Jesus to live in obedience to God’s truth and righteousness

1 Peter 1:10-21

10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully, 11 inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories. 12 It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.

13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, 15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 17 And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one’s deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, 18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. 20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you 21 who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
