Suffering for Christ sake and our eternal glory with Jesus in His kingdom
གསུང་མགུར 126:5-6
5 མཆི་མ་མཉམ་དུ་ས་བོན་འདེབས་མཁན་ཚོས། དགའ་བའི་སྒོ་ནས་སྟོན་ཐོག་དེ་ནི་རྔ་བར་འགྱུར།
6 ངུ་བཞིན་ས་བོན་འཁྱེར་ནས་འདེབས་པར་འགྲོ་མཁན་ཚོས། དགའ་ཞིང་གླུ་དབྱངས་ལེན་བཞིན་སྟོན་ཐོག་བསྡུ་ནས་ལོག་ཡོང་བར་འགྱུར༎
Psalm 126:5-6
Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.
We grow up in this world environment whereby we have been educated through man-made ideology to pursue success in terms of material gains and human recognition, how often we still carried within us such expectations and missed to understand the sufferings of Christ for us?
If we do not understand Christ’s sufferings for us we will not be able to go through sufferings for Christ’s sake.
Isaiah 53 is a well-known passage about Christ’s suffering, death and resurrection, and it also provided better understanding of how the word of God became flesh, grew into maturity, and being offered for the will of God.
ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ 53
1མི་མང་ཚོ་ཡི་ལན་དུ་སྨྲས་པ་ལ། ད་ལྟ་ང་ཚོས་ཞུས་པར་སུ་ཡིད་ཆེས།
གནས་ཚུལ་དེའི་ཐོག་ཏུ་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག། ཁོང་གི་ཕྱག་ཡོད་པ་དེ་ནི་སུ་ཡིས་མཐོང།
2ས་སྐམ་ནང་ལ་རྩ་བ་འཛུགས་པའི་རྩི་ཤིང་ལྟར་ཁོང་གི་ཞབས་ཕྱི་ཡར་སྐྱེས་པ།
གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གི་ཐུགས་དགོངས་ཡིན།
ཁོ་ལ་ང་ཚོས་དོ་སྣང་བྱེད་པའི་ཕྱིར། གཟི་བརྗིད་ཡང་ན་མཛེས་ཚུལ་གང་ཡང་མེད།
ཁོ་ཡི་སྐོར་ལ་ཡིད་འཕྲོག་བྱ་རྒྱུ་གང་ཡང་མེད། ཁོང་གི་གང་ཞིག་གིས་ང་ཚོར་བཀུགས་མི་ཐུབ།
3ང་ཚོས་ཁོང་ལ་སྨད་ཅིང་སྤངས་བར་བྱ། ཁོ་ཡི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་ན་ཚར་བཟོད་སྲན་བྱས།
སུས་ཀྱང་ཁོ་ལ་བལྟ་བར་མི་བྱེད་དོ། ཁོ་ལ་ང་ཚོས་རིང་ཐང་བརྩི་མེད་བྱས།
4འོན་ཀྱང་ང་ཚོས་མྱོང་དགོས་སྡུག་བསྔལ་དང་། ང་ཚོས་ན་ཚ་འཁྱེར་དགོས་ཁག་བཅས་དང་།
ཁོང་གིས་བཟོད་སྲན་བྱས་པར་འགྱུར་བ་ཡིན། ཁོང་གིས་མྱོང་བའི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་ཚང་མ།
དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གིས་གཏོང་བའི་ཉེས་ཆད་ཡིན་ཞེས་ང་ཚོས་བསམ་བྱུང།
5ང་ཚོས་སྡིག་པའི་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་ཁོང་ལ་རྨས། ང་ཚོས་ལས་ངན་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་ཁོང་ལ་བརྡུང་།
ཁོང་གི་མྱོང་བའི་ཉེས་ཆད་རྐྱེན་ང་ཚོར་སྐྱིད་པོ་དང་ཞི་བདེ་ཐོབ།
ཁོང་གི་རྨས་ང་ཚོ་དྲག་ཡོད།
6ང་ཚོ་ཚང་མ་ལུག་ལྟར་རླག་ཡོད་དོ། ང་ཚོ་རང་རང་སོ་སོའི་ལམ་དུ་འགྲོ།
འོན་ཀྱང་ང་ཚོར་ཕོག་དགོས་ཉེས་ཆད་དེ།
གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཁོང་རང་གི་ཐོག་ཕོག་པར་མཛད།
7ཁོང་ལ་མནར་སྤྱོད་རྩུབ་པོ་བྱས་ན་ཡང་། ཉམས་ཆུང་ངང་ནས་བཟོད་སྲན་གནང་བ་དང་།
ཁོང་གི་་ཚིག་གཅིག་ཙམ་ཡང་སྨྲས་མེད་དོ། གསོད་གྲབ་ཡོད་པའི་ལུག་གུ་ལྟ་བུ་དང་།
བལ་ནི་འབྲེག་གྲབ་ཡོད་པའི་ལུག་ལྟར། ཁོང་གི་ཚི་གཅིག་རྩ་ནས་སྨྲས་མེད་དོ།
8ཁོང་ནི་བཟུང་སྟེ་ཁྲིམས་གཅོད་བྱེས་ནས་བསད་པར་འཁྲིད།
ཁོང་གི་སྐྱལ་བའི་སྐོར་སུས་ཀྱང་དོ་སྣང་བྱེད་མེད་དོ།
ང་ཚོའི་མི་མང་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སྡིག་པའི་ཆེད། ཁོང་ལ་འཆི་བའི་ཉེས་ཆད་བཏང་ཡོད་དོ།
9ཁོང་གིས་ཁྲིམས་འགལ་གྱི་ལས་ནམ་ཡང་མ་བྱས་ཀྱང་།
ཡང་ན་རྫུན་ཚིག་གཅིག་ཀྱང་བཤད་མེད་དོ། ཁོང་ནི་དུར་དུ་མི་ངན་མཉམ་དུ་བཞག།
ཁོང་ནི་ཕྱུག་པོའི་རོ་དང་མཉམ་དུ་སྦས།
10གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གིས་བཀའ་གནང་བ། ཁོ་ཡི་སྡུག་པོ་མྱོང་དགོས་དེ་ནི་ང་ཡི་འདོད་ཡིན།
ཁོང་གི་འཆི་བ་ནི་སྡིག་བཤགས་འཁྱེར་བའི་ཆེད་དུ་དམར་མཆོད་ཡིན།
ཁོང་གིས་རང་གི་རིགས་བརྒྱུད་རྣམས་ལ་མཐོང་བ་དང་།
ཁོང་ནི་ཚེ་རིང་གནས་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང། ཁོང་གི་རྒྱུད་ནས་ང་ཡི་དམིགས་ཡུལ་སྒྲུབ།
11ཁོང་གི་མི་ཚེ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱང་བའི་རྗེས། ཡང་སྐྱར་ཁོང་ལ་དགའ་བ་ཐོབ་པར་འགྱུར།
ཁོང་གི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་དོན་མེད་མྱོང་མེད་པ་ཤེས། ང་ཡི་དགའ་བའི་མོས་གུས་ཅན་གྱི་ཞབས་ཕྱི་དེ།
མང་པོའི་ཆེད་དུ་ཁོང་གིས་ཉེས་ཆད་མྱོང་། ཁོང་གི་ཆེད་དུ་ང་ཡི་དེ་ཚོར་བཟོད།
12དེར་བརྟེན་རླབས་ཆེན་དང་ནི་སྟོབས་ཆེན་ཁྲོད། ང་ཡིས་ཁོང་ལ་ཆེ་མཐོང་གོ་གནས་སྤྲད།
ཁོང་གི་ཐུགས་འདོད་བཞིན་དུ་རང་གི་མི་ཚེ་ཕུལ། མི་ངན་ཚོ་དང་མཉམ་དུ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་།
ཁོང་ནི་སྡིག་ཅན་མང་པོའི་ས་གནས་བཟུང།
དེ་ཚོར་བཟོད་གསོལ་ཡོང་བའི་གསོལ་འདེབས་ཞུས༎
Isaiah 53
Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
2 For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth.
8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people?
9 And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
11 Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.
What Jesus went through is an example of godly suffering that pleases God.
The exact path of Jesus’ suffering fulfilled God will for the chosen Messiah.
For believers and disciples today sacrificing for the Gospel, there are pains and sufferings, inconveniences that we will go through but all in the hope of a better future in the kingdom of Christ. This hope of blessing is not only for us but also for those who will receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ as we bear witness.
We know all things in this world will come to an end, only Christ and His kingdom are of eternal value.
ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ 40:6-8
6སྒྲ་ཞིག་གིས་འདི་ལྟར་འབོད་བཞིན་འདུག། གསུང་འཕྲིན་ཞིག་ཁྱབ་སྒྲགས་བྱོས།
ང་ཡིས་གསུང་འཕྲིན་ཇི་ཞིག་གསལ་སྒྲགས་བྱ་ཞེས་འདྲིས།
མི་རྣམས་རྩ་ལྟར་ཡིན་པ་ཁྱབ་སྒྲག་བྱོས། དེ་ཚོ་ནགས་ཀྱི་མེ་ཏོག་ལས་ཀྱང་ལྷག་པ་མི་གནས་སོ།
7དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གིས་དེའི་སྟེང་རླུང་གཏོང་སྐབས། རྩ་ནི་སྐམ་ཞིང་མེ་ཏོག་རྙིད་པར་འགྱུར་།
མི་མང་རྩ་ལས་ལྷག་པ་གནས་མི་ཐུབ།
8རྩ་ནི་ངེས་པར་སྐམ་ཞིང་མེ་ཏོག་རྙིད། འོན་ཀྱང་ང་ཚོའི་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གི་བཀའ།
གཏན་གྱི་ཆེད་དུ་གནས་པར་འགྱུར།
Isaiah 40:6-8
6 A voice says, “Cry!” And I said, “What shall I cry?”
All flesh is grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field.
7 The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of the Lord blows on it; surely the people are grass.
8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.
John the Baptist who was called to prepare God’s people to meet the Messiah lived a bare basic life in contrast to other religious groups of his days. The life of John the Baptist forecasted the suffering of the Messiah.
John the Baptist was the only son of Zechariah who was serving as High Priest and as according to God’s instruction for Temple service only the High Priest was allowed to enter the Most Holy place of the Temple during the Day of Atonement.
John the Baptist could have been the next High Priest with guaranteed prestige and privilege but he sacrificed all for the sake of God’s will to prepare for the coming Messiah. Peter and John were disciples of John the Baptist before they went to follow Jesus. The sacrifices of John the Baptist brought blessing to others who will follow Jesus.
The Apostle Paul did taught about being prepared to suffer for Christ as according to the will of God and such suffering will in turn keeps the ministry of redemption going
ཕི་ལིབ་པི་པ། 1:29
ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་ཞེ་ན། ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀར་དད་པ་བྱེད་པ་ལས༌གཞན། ཁོང་གི་ཆེད་དུ་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ལ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་བའི་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཡང་གནང་བ༌དང༌།
Philippians 1:29
For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,
Christian sufferings are part of our walk with God but for a purpose of sowing for a better future with Jesus in His kingdom. And as we sow along the way, there are more of those whom God will redeem.
