10ཐར་པ་འདིའི་སྐོར་གླེང་བ་ཡིན་ན། སྔོན་ཆད་ཁྱོད་ཅག་ལ་ཐུགས་རྗེ་འཐོབ་པར་འགྱུར་ཞེས་གསུང་མཁན་ཏེ། ལུང་སྟོན་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་སྔར་ནས་འཚོལ་རྟོག་དང་བརྟག་དཔྱད་ཞིབ་མོ་བྱས་མྱོང་ངོ་།། 11དེ་ནི་ཁོ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སེམས་ཁོང་དུ་ཡོད་པའི་སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་ཐུགས་ཉིད་ཀྱིས། སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀས་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱང་བར་འགྱུར་བ་དང་ཕྱིས་སུ་གཟི་བརྗིད་འཐོབ་པར་འགྱུར་བར་སྔ་མོ་ནས་བདེན་དཔང་བྱས་ཏེ། དུས་ནམ་ཞིག་དང་དུས་ཅི་ལྟ་བུ་ཞིག་ཡིན་པ་ལ་བརྟག་དཔྱད་བྱས་པ་ཡིན། 12ཡང་ཁོ་རྣམས་ལ་མངོན་པར་མཛད་པ༌བཞིན། ཁོ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་རང་གི་དོན་དུ་མ་ཡིན་པར་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཆེད་དུ་ཞབས་ཕྱི་བསྒྲུབས་ཤིང་། ནམ་མཁའི་ཞིང་ཁམས་ནས་མངགས་ཡོང་བའི་དམ་པའི་ཐུགས་ཉིད་ལ་བརྟེན༌ནས་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ལ་འཕྲིན་བཟང་སྒྲོག་མཁན་རྣམས་ཀྱིས། ད་ལྟ་དོན་དེ་རྣམས་ཁྱོད་ཅག་ལ་བསྒྲགས་པ་དང༌། ཐ་ན་ཕོ་ཉ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཀྱང་དོན་འདི་དག་ལ་ཞིབ་ཏུ་བརྟག་པར་དགོངས་སོ།།

 

1 Peter 1:10-12

10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully, 11 inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories. 12 It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.

 

This salvation Peter refers to is the redemption work of Christ accomplished through His death and resurrection as according to the will and plan of God.

An important point Peter wanted to bring across to the disciples community scattered abroad is that this salvation plan of God through Christ had been revealed long ago through the prophets to prepare the people to receive the Messiah in the appropriated time and circumstances.

The birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus during the time of the Apostle Peter, and all the ministry works of Jesus witnessed by the disciples, testify to the prophetic message of God revealed in time past to prepare them to receive the Messiah.

Isaiah 53 contain a comprehensive message of the suffering Messiah

 

ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ 53

1  མི་མང་ཚོ་ཡི་ལན་དུ་སྨྲས་པ་ལ། ད་ལྟ་ང་ཚོས་ཞུས་པར་སུ་ཡིད་ཆེས།  གནས་ཚུལ་དེའི་ཐོག་ཏུ་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག།  ཁོང་གི་ཕྱག་ཡོད་པ་དེ་ནི་སུ་ཡིས་མཐོང།

2  ས་སྐམ་ནང་ལ་རྩ་བ་འཛུགས་པའི་རྩི་ཤིང་ལྟར་ཁོང་གི་ཞབས་ཕྱི་ཡར་སྐྱེས་པ།  གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གི་ཐུགས་དགོངས་ཡིན།  ཁོ་ལ་ང་ཚོས་དོ་སྣང་བྱེད་པའི་ཕྱིར།  གཟི་བརྗིད་ཡང་ན་མཛེས་ཚུལ་གང་ཡང་མེད།  ཁོ་ཡི་སྐོར་ལ་ཡིད་འཕྲོག་བྱ་རྒྱུ་གང་ཡང་མེད།  ཁོང་གི་གང་ཞིག་གིས་ང་ཚོར་བཀུགས་མི་ཐུབ།

3  ང་ཚོས་ཁོང་ལ་སྨད་ཅིང་སྤངས་བར་བྱ།  ཁོ་ཡི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་ན་ཚར་བཟོད་སྲན་བྱས། སུས་ཀྱང་ཁོ་ལ་བལྟ་བར་མི་བྱེད་དོ།  ཁོ་ལ་ང་ཚོས་རིང་ཐང་བརྩི་མེད་བྱས།

4  འོན་ཀྱང་ང་ཚོས་མྱོང་དགོས་སྡུག་བསྔལ་དང་།  ང་ཚོས་ན་ཚ་འཁྱེར་དགོས་ཁག་ཅས་དང་།  ཁོང་གིས་བཟོད་སྲན་བྱས་པར་འགྱུར་བ་ཡིན།  ཁོང་གིས་མྱོང་བའི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་ཚང་མ།  དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གིས་གཏོང་བའི་ཉེས་ཆད་ཡིན་ཞེས་ང་ཚོས་བསམ་བྱུང།

5  ང་ཚོས་སྡིག་པའི་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་ཁོང་ལ་རྨས།  ང་ཚོས་ལས་ངན་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་ཁོང་ལ་བརྡུང་། ཁོང་གི་མྱོང་བའི་ཉེས་ཆད་རྐྱེན་ང་ཚོར་སྐྱིད་པོ་དང་ཞི་བདེ་ཐོབ།  ཁོང་གི་རྨས་ང་ཚོ་དྲག་ཡོད།

6  ང་ཚོ་ཚང་མ་ལུག་ལྟར་རླག་ཡོད་དོ། ང་ཚོ་རང་རང་སོ་སོའི་ལམ་དུ་འགྲོ།  འོན་ཀྱང་ང་ཚོར་ཕོག་དགོས་ཉེས་ཆད་དེ།  གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཁོང་རང་གི་ཐོག་ཕོག་པར་མཛད།

7  ཁོང་ལ་མནར་སྤྱོད་རྩུབ་པོ་བྱས་ན་ཡང་།  ཉམས་ཆུང་ངང་ནས་བཟོད་སྲན་གནང་བ་དང་།  ཁོང་གི་་ཚིག་གཅིག་ཙམ་ཡང་སྨྲས་མེད་དོ།  གསོད་གྲབ་ཡོད་པའི་ལུག་གུ་ལྟ་བུ་དང་། བལ་ནི་འབྲེག་གྲབ་ཡོད་པའི་ལུག་ལྟར།  ཁོང་གི་ཚི་གཅིག་རྩ་ནས་སྨྲས་མེད་དོ།

8  ཁོང་ནི་བཟུང་སྟེ་ཁྲིམས་གཅོད་བྱེས་ནས་བསད་པར་འཁྲིད།  ཁོང་གི་སྐྱལ་བའི་སྐོར་སུས་ཀྱང་དོ་སྣང་བྱེད་མེད་དོ།  ང་ཚོའི་མི་མང་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སྡིག་པའི་ཆེད།  ཁོང་ལ་འཆི་བའི་ཉེས་ཆད་བཏང་ཡོད་དོ།

9  ཁོང་གིས་ཁྲིམས་འགལ་གྱི་ལས་ནམ་ཡང་མ་བྱས་ཀྱང་།  ཡང་ན་རྫུན་ཚིག་གཅིག་ཀྱང་བཤད་མེད་དོ། ཁོང་ནི་དུར་དུ་མི་ངན་མཉམ་དུ་བཞག།  ཁོང་ནི་ཕྱུག་པོའི་རོ་དང་མཉམ་དུ་སྦས།

10  གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གིས་བཀའ་གནང་བ།  ཁོ་ཡི་སྡུག་པོ་མྱོང་དགོས་དེ་ན་ང་ཡི་འདོད་ཡིན།  ཁོང་གི་འཆི་བ་ནི་སྡིག་བཤགས་འཁྱེར་བའི་ཆེད་དུ་དམར་མཆོད་ཡིན། ཁོང་གིས་རང་གི་རིགས་བརྒྱུད་རྣམས་ལ་མཐོང་བ་དང་།  ཁོང་ནི་ཚེ་རིང་གནས་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང། ཁོང་གི་རྒྱུད་ནས་ང་ཡི་དམིགས་ཡུལ་སྒྲུབ།

11  ཁོང་གི་མི་ཚེ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱང་བའི་རྗེས།  ཡང་སྐྱར་ཁོང་ལ་དགའ་བ་ཐོབ་པར་འགྱུར།  ཁོང་གི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་དོན་མེད་མྱོང་མེད་པ་ཤེས།  ང་ཡི་དགའ་བའི་མོས་གུས་ཅན་གྱི་ཞབས་ཕྱི་དེ།  མང་པོའི་ཆེད་དུ་ཁོང་གིས་ཉེས་ཆད་མྱོང་།  ཁོང་གི་ཆེད་དུ་ང་ཡི་དེ་ཚོར་བཟོད།

12  དེར་བརྟེན་རླབས་ཆེན་དང་ནི་སྟོབས་ཆེན་ཁྲོད།  ང་ཡིས་ཁོང་ལ་ཆེ་མཐོང་གོ་གནས་སྤྲད།  ཁོང་གི་ཐུགས་འདོད་བཞིན་དུ་རང་གི་མི་ཚེ་ཕུལ།  མི་ངན་ཚོ་དང་མཉམ་དུ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་།  ཁོང་ནི་སྡིག་ཅན་མང་པོའི་ས་གནས་བཟུང།  དེ་ཚོར་བཟོད་གསོལ་ཡོང་བའི་གསོལ་འདེབས་ཞུས༎

 

Isaiah 53

1 Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

2 For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him.

3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.

5 But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth.

8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people?

9 And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

11 Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities.

12 Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.

 

Isaiah 53 was the same passage that led to the born again encounter of the Ethiopian Eunuch in Acts 8 after the Pentecost event

Acts 8:26-40

26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Rise and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert place. 27 And he rose and went. And there was an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure. He had come to Jerusalem to worship 28 and was returning, seated in his chariot, and he was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29 And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.” 30 So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” 31 And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. 32 Now the passage of the Scripture that he was reading was this:

“Like a sheep he was led to the slaughter and like a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he opens not his mouth.

33 In his humiliation justice was denied him. Who can describe his generation? For his life is taken away from the earth.”

34 And the eunuch said to Philip, “About whom, I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?” 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus. 36 And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?” 38 And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing. 40 But Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he passed through he preached the gospel to all the towns until he came to Caesarea.

 

Jesus is God’s chosen Messiah.

1 Peter 1:6-9

6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

 

Peter speaks of rejoicing (ἀγαλλιάω Agalliaó) in the Lord.

This attitude to rejoice is not meant to be mockery of life’s pain and suffering but to exalt and magnify the Lord Jesus Christ in His power of redemption for our souls and in hope of our eternal life in the kingdom of God.

We rejoice in the power of Christ that conquer sin and death and brought us life eternal life.

We rejoice that in spite of our weakness and failures God the Father through His Son Jesus the Christ provided atonement and cleansing for our sin.

We are called to rejoice in the Lord, amen.

Most importantly we rejoice in the resurrection of Jesus the Christ that birth forth this new living hope for us known as “being born again”.

Peter’s message to rejoice in the Lord serves as reminder of what he learned directly from Jesus

28ལུས་པོ་གཞོམ་ཡང་རྣམ་ཤེས་མེད་པར་བཟོ་མི་ནུས་པ་དེ་རྣམས་ལ་ཁྱོད་ཅག་མ་འཇིགས༌ཤིག འོན༌ཀྱང༌། ལུས་པོ་དང་རྣམ་ཤེས་དམྱལ་བའི་གནས་སུ་མེད་པར་མཛད་ནུས་པ་དེ་ཉིད་ཁོ་ན་ལ་འཇིགས་དགོས༌སོ།། 29ལར་བྱེའུ་གཉིས་ཀྱི་རིན་ཐང་ནི་དོང་ཙེ་གཅིག་མ་ཡིན༌ནམ། ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཡབ་ཀྱིས་མི་མཁྱེན་པར་དེ་རྣམས་ལས་གཅིག་ཀྱང་སར་ལྷུང་བར་མི་འགྱུར༌ལ། 30ཁོང་གིས་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སྐྲའི་ཉག་མ་རེ་རེ་ཡང་གྲངས་སུ་བརྩིས་ཡོད༌པས། 31འཇིགས་མི་དགོས༌ཏེ། བྱེའུ་མང་པོ་ལས་ཀྱང་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ལ་རིན་ཐང་ཆེན་པོ་ལྡན༌ནོ།། 32དེའི༌ཕྱིར། སུ་ཞིག་གིས་མི་གཞན་གྱི་མདུན་དུ་ང་རང་ཁས་བླངས༌ན། བདག་གིས་ཀྱང་ནམ་མཁའི་ཞིང་ཁམས་སུ་བཞུགས་པའི་ང་ཡི་ཡབ་ཀྱི་དྲུང་དུ་མི་དེའང་ཁས་ལེན་པར༌འགྱུར། 33འོན་ཀྱང་སུ་ཞིག་གིས་མི་གཞན་གྱི་མདུན་དུ་ང་རང་ཁས་མ་བླངས༌ན། བདག་གིས་ཀྱང་ནམ་མཁའི་ཞིང་ཁམས་སུ་བཞུགས་པའི་ང་ཡི་ཡབ་ཀྱི་དྲུང་དུ་མི་དེའང་ཁས་མི་ལེན༌ནོ།།

 

Matthew 10:28-33

28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. 32 So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, 33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

 

While Peter was with Jesus they did went through real persecution for their faith in seeking to enter the kingdom of God through the ways and teachings of Jesus.

Our hope for persevering in our faith in Christ rest in our eternal inheritance in the kingdom of God but sadly there were those who did not endure and walked away from Christ.

Another key purpose for rejoicing and enduring hardship and turmoil for our faith in Jesus is the purification and strengthening of our faith.

 

མངོན་པ། 3:8

ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་བྱས་པའི་ལས་བདག་གིས་ཤེས་སོ།། ལྟོས་དང་། ཁྱོད་ལ་སྟོབས་ཤུགས་ཉུང་ཙམ་ལས་མེད་ནའང་། ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་བདག་གི་བཀའ་བརྩིས་པ་དང་། བདག་གི་མིང་ཡང་ཁས་བླངས་པས། བདག་གིས་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་མདུན་དུ་སྒོ་ཕྱེས་པ་ཞིག་གནང་སྟེ། སྒོ་དེ་ནི་སུས་ཀྱང་རྒྱག་མི་ནུས་སོ།།

 

Revelation 3:8

I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see.

 

Trails and persecutions due to our faith in Christ can serve to purify our faith through clarifying our understanding and knowledge of God’s will and purpose.

Our human desires are led by deeds of the flesh that do not understand the eternal spiritual values of God’s will. Only when we begin to understand and accept the true eternal plan and purpose of God then we begin to submit and be transform to the image of Christ

1སྤུན་ཟླ༌རྣམས། དེ་ལྟར་ཡིན་པས། ངས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ལ་བསྐུལ་བར་བྱ༌སྟེ། ཁྱོད་ཅག་གིས་རང་གི་ལུས་པོ་ནི་གསོན་མཆོད་དུ་ཕུལ༌ཞིག དེ་ནི་དམ་པ་ཡིན་ཞིང་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཐུགས་མཉེས༌པ་དང་། ཁྱོད་ཅག་གི་སེམས་ཉིད་ཀྱི་བསྙེན་བཀུར་ཡིན་ནོ།། 2དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཐུགས་དགོངས་བཟང་པོ༌དང༌། ཡིད་དུ་འོང༌བ། ཕུན་སུམ་ཚོགས་པ་བཅས་རྟོགས་པའི༌ཕྱིར། འཇིག་རྟེན་འདིའི་ལུགས་བཞིན་མི་བྱེད་པར། སེམས་གསར་པར་བསྒྱུར་པ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་གཤིས་སྤྱོད་ཀྱང་སྒྱུར་ཅིག

 

Romans 12:1-2

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

 

As we rejoice in the Lord through difficult trials and turmoil of life circumstances God purify our faith that our life be conformed to the ways of Jesus.
