What we can learn from the letters of Peter about practice of faith in Christ in times of uncertainty.
པེ་ཏྲོ་དང་པོ། 2:13-17
13-14གཙོ་བོའི་ཆེད་དུ་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་གོང་མ་རྒྱལ་པོའམ། ཡང་ན་རྒྱལ་པོས་ལས་ངན་པ་བྱེད་མཁན་ལ་ཁྲིམས་ཐག་གཅོད་པ་དང་ལས་བཟང་པོ་བྱེད་མཁན་ལ་གཟེངས་བསྟོད་བྱེད་པར་མངགས་པའི་སྤྱི་དཔོན་ནམ། མིའི་ལམ་ལུགས་ཐམས་ཅད་བརྩི་སྲུང་བྱེད་དགོས་སོ།། 15ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་ཞེ་ན། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཐུགས་དགོངས་ནི་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ལས་བཟང་པོ་བྱས་ཏེ། ཤེས་པ་མེད་པའི་བླུན་པོ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སྨྲ་སྒོ་གཅོད་པའི་ཕྱིར་ཡིན། 16ཁྱོད་ཅག་ནི་མི་རང་དབང་ཅན་ཡིན་ནའང་། རང་དབང་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་ལས་ངན་པ་འགེབས་མི་རུང༌སྟེ། རྟག་ཏུ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཞབས་ཕྱི་པ་ཡིན་དགོས་སོ།། 17ཁྱོད་ཅག་གིས་མི་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་བརྩི་བཀུར་དང་། དད་ལྡན་སྤུན་ཟླ་ལ་གཅེས་པ། དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་གུས༌ཤིང་འཇིགས་པ། རྒྱལ་པོ་ལ་བརྩི་བཀུར་བཅས་བྱེད་པར༌གྱིས།
1 Peter 2:13-17
13 Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, 14 or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. 15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. 16 Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. 17 Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.
Peter deal with a highly sensitive and debatable subject about being subject to human governments.
Historical context is crucial to understanding what Peter wanted to convey to the disciples. Today we have the benefit of hindsight knowing from history Peter was executed by Emperor Nero before Nero himself died in 68 CE and the First Jewish–Roman War noted between 66 to73 CE.
Peter’s message was during a time of political tension and there was known nationalist groups from various religious backgrounds gaining support for open revolt. In times of political and social turmoil we need to be careful not to be swayed by circumstances but to know the will of God how to make decision and continue our lives and if necessary relocate move away from troubled areas.
Peter was communicating with disciples who were dispersed abroad in various locations and apparently there were no restriction to people’s movement. And our first priority is to live as servants of Christ and to be living witness for God’s way of truth and godliness.
The difficult problem is when we are faced with ungodly human leaderships what should we do? If we have the freedom of movement we could choose better place to serve the purpose of God. Consider Paul’s message

1-2དེ་བས་ན། བདག་གིས་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ལ་སྐུལ་བར༌བྱ་སྟེ། བདག་ཅག་གིས་དད་གུས་བྱེད་པ་དང་ཚུལ་མཐུན་ངང་བག་ཕབ་ལྷིང་འཇགས་ཀྱི་འཚོ་བ་རོལ་ཐུབ་པའི་ཕྱིར། ཐོག་མར་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་མི་ཐམས་ཅད༌དང༌། རྒྱལ༌པོ། དབང་ཤེད་ཅན་མཐའ་དག་གི་ཆེད༌དུ། དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་ཞུ་བ་བྱེད་པ་དང༌། གསོལ་བ་འདེབས༌པ། ཚབ་ཞུ་བྱེད༌པ། བཀའ་དྲིན་ཞུ་བ་བཅས་བྱེད་པར༌གྱིས། 3དོན་འདི་ནི་བདག་ཅག་གི་སྐྱབས་མགོན་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་སྤྱན་སྔར་ལེགས༌ཤིང་ཁོང་ཐུགས་དགྱེས༌པ་ཡིན། 4ཁོང་གིས་མི་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་ཐར་པ་འཐོབ་པ་དང་ཀུན་གྱིས་བདེན་པ་ཉིད་རྟོགས་ཐུབ་པར་དགོངས་སོ།། 5ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་ཞེ་ན། དཀོན་མཆོག་གཅིག་ཁོ་ན་ཉིད་ལས་གཞན་མེད༌ཅིང༌། ཡང་དཀོན་མཆོག་དང་མིའི་རིགས་ཀྱི་བར་དུ་བར་མི་གཅིག་ལས་གཞན་མེད༌དེ། འཇིག་རྟེན་དུ་མི་རུ་འཁྲུངས་པའི་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་ཡེ་ཤུ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར༌རོ།། 6ཁོང་གིས་རང་ཉིད་འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱི་མི་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ་བླུ་རིན་དུ་གནང༌ཞིང༌། དུས་ལ་བབས་པ་ན། དོན་འདིར་བདེན་དཔང་བྱས་པ་ཡིན། 7བདག་ནི་དོན་དེའི་ཆེད་དུ་ཆོས་སྒྲོག་མཁན༌དང༌སྐུ་ཚབ༌པར་བསྐོས་ཏེ། དད་པ་དང་བདེན་པ་ཉིད་ཀྱི་ཆ་ནས་ཕྱི་ཕྱོགས་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་དགེ་རྒན་ཡིན། དེ་ནི་བདག་གིས་བདེན་པར་སྨྲས་པ་ཡིན་གྱི་རྫུན་སྨྲས་པ་མ་ཡིན༌ནོ།།
1 Timothy 2:1-7
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. 7 For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
As much as we need to pray for human governments we also pray for options of settlement and be ready for the return of the LORD.
We are living in world of political turmoil, conflicts, and pervasive spiritual darkness, we have been warned through God’s prophets and apostles not to be deceived by the world promises of “peace and harmony” but be ready for the Lord’s return

1དེ་ཡང་དུས་དང་ཟླ་ཚེས་ཀྱི་སྐོར་སྤུན་ཟླ་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ལ་ཅི་ཡང་བྲི་མི་དགོས༌ཏེ། 2མཚན་མོའི་དུས་སུ་རྐུན་པོ་ཇི་ལྟར་གློ་བུར་སླེབས་པ༌བཞིན། གཙོ་བོའི་ཉིན་མོའང་དེ་ལྟར་སླེབ་ངེས་པ་ཁྱོད་ཅག་གིས་གསལ་པོར་ཤེས་པའི་ཕྱིར༌ཡིན། 3མི་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་བདེ་འཇགས་ཡིན་ཞེས་སྨྲ་བའི་དུས༌སུ། བུད་མེད་མངལ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ལ་ན་ཟུག་འབྱུང་བ་བཞིན་དེ་རྣམས་ལ་འཕྲལ་དུ་ཆག་སྒོ་འབྱུང་ཞིང་དེ་ལས་གཏན་ནས་ཐར་མི་ནུས་སོ།། 4འོན༌ཀྱང༌། སྤུན་ཟླ་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ནི་མུན་པའི་ནང་དུ་མི་གནས༌པས། ཉིན་མོ་དེ་ནི་རྐུན་པོ་གློ་བུར་སླེབས་པ༌ལྟར་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སྟེང་དུ་སླེབ་པར་མི་འགྱུར། 5ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་ཞེ་ན། ཁྱོད་ཅག་ཐམས་ཅད་ནི་འོད་ཟེར་དང་ཉིན་མོ་ལ་གཏོགས་པའི་མི་ཡིན་པ༌ལས། མཚན་མོ་དང་མུན་པར་གཏོགས་པའི་མི་མ་ཡིན་པའི་ཕྱིར༌རོ།། 6དེ་བས་བདག་ཅག་མི་གཞན་དག་དང་འདྲ་བར་གཉིད་ལ་མི་ཤོར༌བར། རྟག་ཏུ་དོགས་ཟོན་དང་གཟབ་གཟབ་བྱ་འོས་པ་ཡིན། 7རྒྱུ་མཚན་ནི་གཉིད་དུ་ལོག་པ་རྣམས་མཚན་མོར་གཉིད་ལ་ཡུར་བ༌དང༌། ཆང་གིས་བཟི་བ་རྣམས་ནི་མཚན་མོར་བཟི་བའི་ཕྱིར༌ཡིན། 8འོན༌ཀྱང༌། བདག་ཅག་ནི་ཉིན་མོ་ལ་གཏོགས་པས་གཟབ་གཟབ་བྱེད་དགོས༌ཏེ། དད་པ་དང་བྱམས་པའི་བྲང་ཁྲབ་ལུས་ལ་གྱོན་པ༌དང༌། ཐར་པའི་རེ་སྨོན་གྱི་རྨོག་ཞྭ་མགོ་ལ་གྱོན་དགོས། 9རྒྱུ་མཚན་ནི་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་བདག་ཅག་ཁོང་གི་ཐུགས་ཁྲོ་མྱོང་བར་བསྐོས་པ་མ་ཡིན༌པར། གཙོ་བོ་ཡེ་ཤུ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་བརྒྱུད་ནས་ཐར་པ་འཐོབ་པར་བསྐོས་པའི་ཕྱིར་རོ།། 10བདག་ཅག་གསོན་པོར་གནས་པའམ་ཚེ་ལས་འདས་ཀྱང་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུ་དང་ལྷན་ཅིག་ཏུ་གནས་པར་འགྱུར་བའི་ཕྱིར། ཁོང་ནི་བདག་ཅག་གི་དོན་དུ་སྐུ་གྲོངས༌པའོ།། 11དེའི༌ཕྱིར། ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་དུས་རྒྱུན་ནང་བཞིན་ཕན་ཚུན་ལ་སེམས་གསོ་བྱེད་པ༌དང༌། ཕན་ཚུན་གྱི་དད་པ་ཇེ་བརྟན་དུ་གཏོང་བར་གྱིས༌ཤིག།
1 Thessalonians 5:1-11
Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4 But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. 5 For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. 6 So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
We need to set priority to serve the Lord and to wait for His return.
We need to pray for freedom of movement and to escape being entangled in the political turmoil and spiritual darkness of this world.
