Pilgrims in Christ – Part 21
What we can learn from the letters of Peter about practice of faith in Christ in times of uncertainty.
པེ་ཏྲོ་དང་པོ། 4:12-19
12 གཅེས་པའི་སྤུན་ཟླ་རྣམས། ཁྱེད་ཚོ་ཚོད་ལྟ་བྱེད་པའི་ཕྱིར་བྱུང་བའི་མེ་ལྟ་བུའི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་གྱི་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་ཁྱེད་ལ་ཁྱད་མཚར་ཞིག་འབྱུང་བ་ཡིན་མ་བསམ་མམ་ཡང་ན་ཡ་མཚན་མ་སྐྱེད།
13 དེ་ལས་ལྡོག་སྟེ་ཁྱེད་ཚོས་མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་ཇི་ཙམ་མྱོང་བ་དེ་ཙམ་གྱི་དགའ་བར་གྱུར་ཅིག དེ་ནས་ཁོང་གི་གཟི་བརྗིད་མངོན་པར་འགྱུར་བའི་ཚེ་ཁྱེད་ཚོ་ཧ་ཅང་དགའ་བར་གྱུར།
14 ཁྱེད་རྣམས་ལ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་མཚན་གྱི་རྐྱེན་པས་དམའ་འབེབས་བྱས་ན་བདེའོ། གང་ཡིན་ཟེར་ན། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་གཟི་བརྗིད་དང་ལྡན་པའི་དམ་པའི་ཐུགས་ཉིད་ཁྱེད་རྣམས་ལ་གནས་པའི་ཕྱིར་རོ།
15 གལ་ཏེ་ཁྱེད་ཚོའི་ཁྲོད་དུ། མི་གསོད་མཁན་ནམ། རྐུན་མའམ། ཉེས་ཅན་ནམ། གཞན་གྱི་དོན་ལ་ཐེ་ཇུས་བྱེད་མཁན་གྱི་ཐོག་ནས་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་ན་མི་འོས་སོ།
16 འོན་ཀྱང་སུ་ཞིག་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་པ་ཡིན་པས་སྡུག་བསྔལ་བྱུང་ན། ངོ་ཚ་བར་མི་འགྱུར་ཏེ་མཚན་དེ་ལ་ཡོད་པའི་ཕྱིར་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་བསྟོད་ཅིག
17 ད་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཉིད་ཀྱི་མི་རྣམས་ནས་འགོ་འཛུགས་ཏེ་ཁྲིམས་གཅོད་གཏོང་བའི་དུས་ལ་བབས། ངེད་རྣམས་ནས་འགོ་བཙུགས་ན། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་འཕྲིན་བཟང་ལ་མ་ཉན་པ་རྣམས་ལ་ཅི་འབྱུང་བར་འགྱུར།
18 ཡང་མདོ་ལས།
དྲང་བདེན་རྣམས་ཀྱང་ཐར་དཀའ་ན།།
དད་མེད་སྡིག་ཅན་ཅི་ཞིག་བྱེད།།
ཅེས་འཁོད།
19 དེའི་ཕྱིར་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཐུགས་དགོངས་བཞིན་དུ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་བ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་འགོད་པ་གནང་མཁན་གྱི་བློ་གཏད་ཆོག་པའི་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་རང་ཉིད་བཅོལ་ནས་མུ་མཐུད་བཟང་པོ་བྱེད་དགོས་སོ།།
1 Peter 4:12-19
12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. 14 If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. 16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. 17 For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And
“If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”
19 Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.
Peter speaks of suffering for Christ which is not a popular message for modern day Christians.
We are now living in a time increasing numbers of politicians across the world are advocating unity and harmony regardless of race and religions and with the organized help of interfaith movement by various religious leaders together they aggressively press on with their messages of “all religions are the same” for the sake peace, unity, and harmony.
We are living in a time and circumstance people are generally being pressured every-day to be tolerant and acceptance of mixed religions and practices. Those who do not join their program of “peace, unity, and harmony” are being ostracized and condemned as “not loving”, “no compassion”, “causing social disturbances”, and “disturbing peace and unity”.
We are living in a time of human disasters when people make their own confusions about moral and ethics, doing and advocating all sorts of sins and wicked deeds in the name of “love, unity, and harmony”.
We should be prepared for the judgement of God! Soon!
First and foremost we must recognized Jesus was criticized and rejected for preaching against sin and demanding acts of obedience and repentance. The words and teachings of Jesus separated those who worship God in obedience from those who continue to live in sin.
ཡོ་ཧ་ནན། 15:18-19
18 ཡང་ཡེ་ཤུས་ “གལ་ཏེ་འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱི་མི་ཚོས་ཁྱེད་ཚོ་ལ་སྡང་ན། ཁྱེད་ཚོའི་སྔོན་དུ་ང་ལ་སྡང་བ་ཡིན་པ་ཤེས་དགོས། 19 གལ་ཏེ་ཁྱེད་ཚོ་འཇིག་རྟེན་ལ་གཏོགས་ན། འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱིས་རང་གི་ཡིན་པ་དེ་ལ་གཅེས། འོན་ཀྱང་ངས་ཁྱེད་ཚོ་འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱི་ནང་ནས་བདམས་པས། ཁྱེད་ཚོ་འཇིག་རྟེན་འདིར་མ་གཏོགས། དེའི་ཕྱིར་འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱིས་ཁྱེད་ཚོ་ལ་སྡང༌།
John 15:18-19
18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
Those who believe in Jesus and acted in obedience are called-out and separated.
This was the key reason the Early Christians were persecuted and ostracized because they made the decision to live holy lives for the LORD.
This is the same reason Peter preached about living holy lives for the Gospel and his message was meant to be encouragement for the disciples who were dispersed and persecuted.
Paul another prominent apostle of Christ encouraged the same suffering for Christ as being together in Christ
ཐི་མོ་ཐེ་གཉིས་པ། 2:8-13
8ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ཡེ་ཤུ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་ཡིད་ལ་གཟུང་བར་བྱའོ།། བདག་གིས་སྒྲོག་པའི་འཕྲིན་བཟང་བཞིན། ཁོང་ནི་དཱ་བིད་ཀྱི་གདུང་རྒྱུད་ཡིན་ཞིང་སྐུ་གྲོངས་པ་ནས་སླར་གསོན་པ༌དེ་ཡིན། 9འཕྲིན་བཟང་འདིའི་ཆེད་དུ་བདག་གིས་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་བ་དང༌། ཐ་ན་ང་རང་ཉེས་ཅན་བཞིན་དུ་ལྕགས་སྒྲོག་གིས་ཀྱང་བཀྱིགས་མོད། འོན་ཀྱང་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་བཀའ་ནི་འཁྱིག་མི་ཐུབ་བོ།། 10དེའི༌ཕྱིར། བདམས་པའི་མི་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཆེད༌དུ། བདག་གིས་དོན་ཀུན་ལ་བཟོད་བསྲན་བྱེད་བཞིན་ཡོད༌དེ། མི་དེ་རྣམས་ལའང་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ༌ཡེ་ཤུའི་ནང་དུ་ཡོད་པའི་ཐར་པ་དང་མཐའ་མེད་པའི་གཟི་བརྗིད་འཐོབ་པའི་ཕྱིར༌རོ།། 11དེ་ལ་ཡིད་རྟོན་རུང་བའི་གཏམ་ཞིག་ཡོད་པ་འདི་ལྟ༌སྟེ།
བདག་ཅག་ཁོང་དང་ལྷན་ཅིག་གྲོངས་པས༌ན།།
ཁོང་དང་ལྷན་དུ་གསོན་པ་གདོན་མི༌ཟ།།
12བདག་ཅག་གིས་ཀྱང་བཟོད་བསྲན་བྱེད་ནུས༌ན།།
ཁོང་དང་ལྷན་ཅིག་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་བསྐྱང་བར༌འགྱུར།།
བདག་ཅག་ཁོང་ལ་ངོ་ལོག་བྱས་གྱུར༌ན།།
ཁོང་གིས་བདག་ཅག་ཁས་ལེན་མི་མཛད་དོ།།
13བདག་ཅག་ཁ་བཤད་ཚིག་ལ་མི་གནས༌ཀྱང་།།
ཁོང་ནི་རང་ཚིག་སྔ་ཕྱི་འགལ་མིན་པས༎
སྔར་བཞིན་རང་གི་གསུང་ལ་གནས་པར༌འགྱུར།།
2 Timothy 2:8-13
8 Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel, 9 for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound! 10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11 The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him; 12 if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; 13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.
Politicians and interfaith religious leaders are aggressively proclaiming their ideology of peace, harmony, and unity, but if we open our eyes and look around us we know the truth and reality of our current world situation which is in chaos.
Christians and church leaders should not be entrapped in the deception of this world. The world is heading towards increasing violence and bloodshed related to race, religion, and ethnic conflicts. The world refused to recognized our human sinful condition and continue in rage, destruction, and deception.
We as disciples of Jesus Christ are called-out to live holy lives in obedience to God and to worship God and not to partake of this world’s chaos.
We should not be surprise but be prepared we will suffer for Christ!
We await our final ultimate redemption in Christ.
