Sowing and Reaping – Part 7
Sowing for a blessed future in the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ
མད་ཐཱ། 5:1-12
1 མི་ཚོགས་གཟིགས་ནས་ཡེ་ཤུ་རི་ཞིག་གི་སྟེང་ལ་ཡར་ཕེབས་ཏེ། དེར་བཞུགས་པ་དང་ཁོང་གི་ཉེ་གནས་རྣམས་སྐུ་མདུན་དུ་ཡོང༌།
2 ཡང་ཁོང་གིས་ཁོ་རྣམས་ལ་ཆོས་བསྟན་ཏེ་གསུངས་པ།
3 “སེམས་རྒྱུད་དབུལ་རྣམས་བདེ་བ་དང་ལྡན་ཏེ།།
དཀོན་མཆོག་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་ཁོང་ཚོའི་ཡིན་པས་སོ།།
4 མྱ་ངན་ཅན་རྣམས་བདེ་བ་དང་ལྡན་ཏེ།།
ཁོ་ཚོར་སེམས་གསོ་འཐོབ་ངེས་ཡིན་པས་སོ།།
5 སྙེམས་ཆུང་བ་རྣམས་བདེ་བ་དང་ལྡན་ཏེ།།
ཁོ་ཚོ་ས་གཞིའི་བདག་པོར་འགྱུར་བས་སོ།།
6 བཀྲེས་སྐོམ་ཅན་གྱི་དྲང་བདེན་མི་དེ་རྣམས།།
བདེ་བ་ཡིན་ཏེ་བློ་ཡིད་ཚིམ་པས་སོ།།
7 སྙིང་རྗེ་ཅན་གྱི་མི་རྣམས་བདེ་བ་སྟེ།།
ཁོ་ཚོར་སྙིང་རྗེ་ངེས་པར་འཐོབ་པས་སོ།།
8 ལྷད་མེད་སེམས་བཟང་ཅན་དག་བདེ་བ་སྟེ།།
ཁོ་ཚོས་དཀོན་མཆོག་མཇལ་བར་འགྱུར་བས་སོ།།
9 འདུམ་སྒྲིག་མཁན་རྣམས་བདེ་བ་དང་ལྡན་ཏེ།།
ཁོ་ཚོར་དཀོན་མཆོག་སྲས་ཞེས་འབོད་པས་སོ།།
10 དྲང་བདེན་ཉིད་ཕྱིར་འཚེ་བ་ཕོག་པ་རྣམས།།
དཀོན་མཆོག་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་ཁོ་ཚོའི་ཡིན་པས་བདེའོ།།
11 ངའི་དོན་དུ་མི་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཁྱེད་ཚོར་དམའ་བེབས་གཏོང་ཞིང༌། གནོད་སྐྱེལ་བ་དང༌། རྫུན་ཤོད་དེ་ཚིག་ངན་སྣ་ཚོགས་སྨྲ་བའི་སྐབས་སུ་ཁྱེད་རྣམས་བདེ་བ་ཡིན།
12 དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཞིང་ཁམས་སུ་ཁྱེད་ལ་བྱ་དགའ་ཆེན་པོ་ཡོད་པས་དགའ་བ་སྐྱེད་པར་གྱུར་ཅིག གང་ཡིན་ཟེར་ན། ཁྱེད་ཚོའི་སྔོན་ལ་ཡོད་པའི་ལུང་སྟོན་པ་ལའང་དེ་ལྟར་གནོད་བསྐྱལ་བ་ཡིན།”
Matthew 5:1-12
Jesus seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him. 2 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
All these blessing pronounced by Jesus deal with our thoughts, what we believe and practice. They do address our value of life and if we match what Jesus said and taught.
The heavier matter to consider is that these teachings of Jesus will involves sacrifices and inconveniences on our part one way or another. When we follow through and act upon what Jesus said and taught we know we have to sacrifice our personal will.
We live in a world system where people are conditioned to think survival of the fittest and winner takes all. It’s a dog-eat-dog world! People have become strong-willed and mindful of what they want, and who cares about God’s will?
Christians do have mixed feelings about what Jesus said and taught.
While Jesus was going around preaching the kingdom of God the majority of those who came to him were the poor, needy, broken hearted, outcast of society, rejected and despised, and not to mentioned those who were lame and blind and physically wounded and severely sick. Jesus welcomes them and blessed them without reserve.
Societies that strive for excellence base on material achievement have the tendency to look down on the underdogs and the have-nots. And in our modern world of higher academic, paper credentials have become another option to judge people and a man-created way of selective associations.
Modern man have gone so deep into sin and spiritual darkness we don’t know the truth that we are heading for hell without the saving grace of Jesus Christ!
མངོན་པ། 3:17
17 ཁྱེད་རང་ཚོས་ང་ཕྱུག་པོ་ཡིན། ངས་རྒྱུ་ནོར་མང་པོ་བསགས་ཡོད་པ་དང་། ང་ལ་གང་ཡང་དགོས་ཡག་མི་འདུག་ཟེར་གྱི་ཡོད་རེད། ཡིན་ན་ཡང་ཁྱེད་རང་ཚོ་(དངོས་གནས་) ཐབས་སྐྱོ་པོ་དང༌། ཉམ་ཐག་པོ། ལོང་བ་དང་། གཅེར་བུ་ཡིན་པ་དེ་ཁྱེད་རང་ཚོས་ཧ་གོ་གི་ཡོད་མ་རེད།
Revelation 3:17
For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.
Jesus was rebuking those who assumed they are in good hands but not knowing they are in delusion and self-deception. People living in their own created bubble.
Back in Matthew 5, Jesus teaches us the way of eternal blessing that we may live in the light of God’s truth. The words of Jesus enlighten our souls and expose the darkness that has clouded the world. We need to walk in the light of God’s truth.
The sacrifices that we will make to be disciples of Jesus, to follow His ways and teachings, we are sowing for a better brighter future. No we not working for our salvation but we are being saved by Jesus to walk in His light. Jesus first redeems us from darkness and we are taught to walk in His light and not turn back to darkness.
The way of Jesus is the way of righteousness and we will suffer for it because there are still forces of spiritual darkness at work in this world. Modern man has become so adverse to sufferings people are seeking for a god who can promise a bed-of-roses, whatever of material comfort and ease.
Those who despise the sufferings of Jesus will prefer a different savior; therefore the world is in deception.
If we sober our thoughts we can start to see and understand that the truth of God’s words deliver us from deception of this world. We should know while people in this world imagine and wish for a world of peace and harmony among all race and religion but such expectations are wishful thinking. People are separated based on belief and practice and to coercive them to be together within a man-made boundary of enforced peace and harmony will result in confusion and conflict. The widespread war and conflict we know of happening in the world today is the reality people wish to reject.
For us who follow Jesus we need not be in despair and we need not walk the path of darkness as others do because we have the words and teachings of our Lord and Savior-
གསུང་མགུར 19:7-11
7 གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་བཀའ་ཁྲིམས་རྣམ་པར་དག་པ་ཡིན།
དེ་ཡི་ནུས་སྟོབས་གསར་པ་སྦྱིན་པར་ནུས། གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་བཀའ་རྒྱར་བློ་བཅོལ་འོས་ལགས་ཤིང་།
ཤེས་རབ་མེད་པར་ཤེས་རབ་སྦྱིན་ནུས་སོ།
8 གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་བཀའ་ཁྲིམས་དྲང་ཞིང་བདེན་ལགས་པས།
དེ་དག་སྲུང་བའི་མི་རྣམས་དགའ་ཞིང་བདེ།
གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་བཀའ་ཁྲིམས་དྲང་ཞིང་ཚུལ་མཐུན་ལགས།
དེས་ནི་མི་ཡི་བསམ་ཤེས་རྒྱས་པར་སྦྱིན།
9 གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་ལ་གུས་ཞབས་ད་ནི་ལེགས་པ་ཡིན།
དུས་རྒྱུན་ཆེད་དུ་དེ་ནི་བརྟན་པོར་གནས།
གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཁྲིམས་རྣམས་དྲང་ཞིང་བདེན་ལགས་པས།
དེ་ནི་ཕྱོགས་ཞེན་ཉེ་རིང་ཀུན་ལས་བྲལ།
10 རིན་ཆེན་གསེར་ནི་བཙོ་མ་ལས་ཀྱང་ལྷག། དེ་ལ་ཀུན་གྱིས་མོས་ཤིང་བདག་འདོད་བྱེད།
དེ་ནི་སྦྲང་རྩི་བཟང་ཤོས་ལས་ཀྱང་མངར།
11 དེས་ནི་ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་བྲན་པོ་བདག་ཉིད་ལ། བློ་དང་རིག་པ་ཤེས་རབ་སྦྱིན་པར་མཛད།
དེ་དག་བརྩི་སྲུང་ཞུས་པའི་སྒྲུབ་འབྲས་སུ། ང་ལ་བྱ་དགའ་གནང་སྦྱིན་བཟང་པོ་ཐོབ།
Psalm 19:7-11
7 The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;
8 the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;
9 the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.
The teaching of Jesus is to separate us from the path of darkness and destruction of this world and to direct us the true way of light into eternal life with Jesus, amen.
By walking according to the teachings of Jesus we are sowing for a better brighter future.
Only in Christ we have hope of eternal life.
The grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with us, amen.
