What we can learn from the letters of Peter about practice of faith in Christ in times of uncertainty.

 

པེ་ཏྲོ་དང་པོ། 4:7-11

7 དོན་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་མཐའ་སླེབས་པར་ཉེ་བས། སྨོན་ལམ་འདེབས་པའི་ཕྱིར་རང་ཚོད་ཟིན་པ་དང༌། བློ་གསལ་པོར་གནས་ཤིག

8 གལ་ཆེ་ཤོས་ནི་གཅིག་གིས་གཅིག་ལ་སེམས་གཏིང་ནས་བྱམས་པར་འཛིན་ཞིག གང་ལགས་ཤེ་ན། བྱམས་པ་ཡིས་སྡིག་ཉེས་མང་པོ་གུ་ཡངས་གཏོང་ཐུབ་པས་སོ།

9 མ་རངས་པའི་གཏམ་མི་བཤད་པར་གཅིག་གིས་གཅིག་ལ་སྣེ་ལེན་བྱེད།

10 ཁྱེད་ཚོའི་ནང་ནས་མི་རེ་རེ་ལ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ནས་གནང་སྦྱིན་ཞིག་ཐོབ་ཟིན་པས། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཐུགས་རྗེ་སྣ་ཚོགས་ཀྱི་གཉེར་པ་མཁས་པ་ལྟར་དེ་ཡིས་གཅིག་གིས་གཅིག་ལ་རོགས་བྱེད།

11 ཆོས་ཤོད་མཁན་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་བཀའ་གསུང་པ་དེ་རང་ལྟར་ཤོད་དགོས། རོགས་བྱེད་མཁན་གྱིས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་གནང་བའི་སྟོབས་ཀྱིས་རོགས་བྱེད་དགོས། དེ་ནས་དོན་ཐམས་ཅད་ཐོག་ནས་ཡེ་ཤུ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་བརྒྱུད་ནས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གཟི་བརྗིད་དང་ལྡན་པར་འགྱུར། དུས་གཏན་དུ་གཟི་བརྗིད་དང་དབང་ཁོང་གི་ཡིན་ནོ། ཨ་མེན།

 

1 Peter 4:7-11

7 The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. 8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

 

Peter speaks of “the end of all things is at hand“.

Scripture revealed God’s redemption plan for Man and we today have the benefits of hindsight knowing the Messiah chosen of God, Jesus the Christ.

Peter was one of the eye-witness of the resurrected Christ.

The timing of Christ’s revelation is indicative of “the end of all things”

John another eye-witness of the resurrected Christ was given the message of Revelation which revealed what is to happen and the future that awaits us, all of us

 

མངོན་པ། 22:12-14

12-13 ཡེ་ཤུ་ཡིས་གསུང་གི་ཡོད་རེད།   “ལྟོས་དང་།”   “ང་མགྱོགས་པོ་ཡོང་གི་ཡོད།   མི་ཞིག་གིས་བྱ་བ་

བཟང་ངན་གང་བྱས་པ་ལ་གཞིགས་པའི་ང་མི་མི་རེ་ངོ་རེ་ལ་བཟང་པོ་ལ་བཟང་ལན་དང་ངན་པ་བྱེད་མཁན་ལ་

ཉེས་པ་གཏང་ག་ཡོང་གི་ཡིན།   ཐོག་མ་དང་མཐའ་མ་དེ་ང་ཡིན།   ངས་ཚང་མ་འགོ་ཚུགས་པ་དང་དེ་ཚོ་

ཚང་མ་མཇུག་སྒྲིལ་བ་བཟོ་གི་ཡོད།”[ངས་རྟེན་འབྲེལ་གྱི་དངོས་པོ་ཚང་མ་འབྱུང་བ་དང་དེའི་རིགས་ཚང་མ་

མཐའ་ཅན་བཟོ་གི་ཡོད།]

14 རང་གི་ཕྱུ་པ་གཙང་མ་བཀྲུ་མཁན་ཚོ་སྐྱིད་པོ་རེད།   འདི་འདྲ་བྱེད་མཁན་ཚོ་རྒྱལ་སྒོ་བརྒྱུད་ནས་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་

ནང་ཞུགས་པ་དང་།   ‘སྲོག་གི་སྡོང་པོ་’དེ་ནས་འབྲས་བུ་ཟ་རྒྱུའི་ཐོབ་ཐང་ཡོད་རེད།

 

Revelation 22:12-14

12 “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.

 

God will judge all Man based on what we have done.

Therefore Peter advocate Christ-like behaviors to all disciples and that is according to Jesus’ teaching

 

མར་ཀུ 12:30-31

30 རང་གིས་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་བློ་གཅིག་སེམས་གཅིག་དང་ནུས་པ་ཅི་ཡོད་ཀྱིས་བརྩེ་བར་ཟུངས་ཤིག

31 གཉིས་པ་ནི།

ཁྱེད་རང་གིས་ཁྱིམ་མཚེས་ལ་རང་དང་འདྲ་བར་བརྩེ་བར་ཟུངས་ཤིག

འདི་གཉིས་ལས་གལ་ཆེ་བའི་བཀའ་ཁྲིམས་གཞན་མེད་”

ཅེས་གསུངས།

 

Mark 12:30-31

30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

 

As true disciples of Jesus the road ahead of us till Christ return will be difficult and rocky. Jesus already warned us of persecutions, rejections, and even betrayals, and there will be those who will sacrifice their life for the sake of the Gospel.

All these warnings mean we have plenty of enemies when we walk with Jesus in His footsteps but yet we are to serve God and love our neighbors as ourselves!

How can we love and forgive those who hurt us? Unless we are empowered by the Holy Spirit and blessed with God’s grace and mercy!

We know how Jesus suffered and God raised Him from the dead and crowned Him in glory.

If we endure with Jesus we will also enter into glory with Him, amen.

Our inheritance in the kingdom of God awaits us, our access to the Tree of Life, and our eternal fellowship with God and His chosen Messiah Jesus.

3 ཁྱེད་ཚོ་སྔོན་དད་མེད་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་འདོད་པ་ལྟར་བག་མེད་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་དང༌། འདོད་ཆགས། ར་བཟི་བ། ལོག་གཡེམ། བག་མེད་ཅན་གྱི་ཐུགས་སྤྲོ། ཆོས་ལོག་པའི་སྐུ་འདྲར་བཀུར་བ་ལ་སོགས་བྱེད་པའི་འདས་ཟིན་གྱི་དུས་དེ་འདངས་ངེས་ཡིན།

4 དེ་ལྟར་གྱི་དཔེ་མི་སྲིད་པའི་སྤྱོད་ལམ་ངན་པ་ཁོ་ཚོ་དང་མཉམ་དུ་མི་བྱེད་པ་དད་མེད་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་མཐོང་ནས་ཧ་ལས་པས། ཁྱེད་ཚོར་སྨད་ར་གཏོང༌།

5 འོན་ཀྱང་ཁོ་ཚོས་འཆི་གསོན་གཉིས་ཀར་ཁྲིམས་གཅོད་གཏོང་རྒྱུ་ཡིན་པ་ཁོང་ལ་རྩིས་འབུལ་ཞུ་དགོས།

6 གཤིན་པོ་རྣམས་ལའང་འཕྲིན་བཟང་བསྒྲགས་པའི་རྒྱུ་མཚན་ནི། མི་ཡིན་པའི་ཆ་ནས་འཇིག་རྟེན་པ་ལྟར་ཁྲིམས་གཅོད་གཏོང་ཡང༌། ཁོ་ཚོས་སེམས་ཉིད་ཀྱི་ཆ་ནས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་དགོངས་པ་ལྟར་འཚོ་བའི་ཆེད་དུ་ཡིན།

 

1 Peter 4:3-6

3 For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry. 4 With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you; 5 but they will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6 For this is why the gospel was preached even to those who are dead, that though judged in the flesh the way people are, they might live in the spirit the way God does.

 

Peter made the point about “the gospel was preached” against sinful lifestyle which the world endorses as gratification of the flesh. The list of sins identified by Peter appears widespread and pervasive even in today’s societies and people don’t think much about it. Apparently the key problem of the world’s sinful behaviors has to do with disbelieve about God’s judgement on those who practice wicked deeds. They just don’t think they will be judged!

So when born-again disciples of Jesus live godly lifestyle based on God’s words and teachings the people of this world response with rude surprises and disbelief.

While disciples of Jesus lived in fear of God the people of this world continue in their fear-less gratification of the flesh! What a messed-up world we are in!

The gospel of Christ exposed the sins of this world and call for repentance. John the Baptist preached the same messages calling for repentance of sinful ways

 

མད་ཐཱ། 3:1-3

1 དེའི་དུས་སུ་ཁྲུས་གསོལ་མཁན་ཡོ་ཧ་ནན་ཡ་ཧུ་དཱ་ཡུལ་གྱི་དབེན་སྟོང་ལ་ཕེབས་ཏེ་

2 “དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་ཉེ་བར་འོངས་པས་སྤྱོད་པ་ངན་པ་རྣམས་སྤངས་ནས་སེམས་སྒྱུར་ཞིག་” ཅེས་བསྒྲགས།

3 ལུང་སྟོན་པ་ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ་ཡིས།

དབེན་སྟོང་ཡུལ་ནང་གྲགས་པའི་འབོད་སྒྲ་ཡིས།།

གཙོ་བོའི་ཆེད་དུ་ཕེབས་ལམ་གྲ་སྒྲིག་བྱོས།།

ལམ་བུ་དེ་ནི་བདེ་བར་བཟོས་ཤིག་ཨང༌།།

ཞེས་གསུངས་པ་འདི་ནི་ཁྲུས་གསོལ་མཁན་ཡོ་ཧ་ནན་གྱི་སྐོར་ཡིན།

 

Matthew 3:1-3

In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, 2 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”3 For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; make his paths straight.’”

 

To obey God is to reject the sinful practices of this world.

Our obedience is evident of our fear of God and our demonstration of our trust in His judgement and forgiveness. Judgement for those who reject God’s teachings, but forgiveness and restoration for those who trust and obey Jesus the Messiah.

People in this world have been brain-washed with lies and human propaganda that gratification of the flesh is “normal” and “human nature” and in total disregard of God’s wrath and judgement.

 

མངོན་པ། 9:20-21

20 ཡིན་ན་ཡང་བཀའ་ཆད་འདི་ཚོའི་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་མ་ཤི་
བའི་མི་བྱིངས་དེ་ཚོས་ད་དུང་རང་གི་ཉེས་སྤྱོད་ལ་འགྱོད་པ་བྱས་ [ནས་དཀོན་མཆོག་སྐུ་གསོན་པོ་ཁོང་ལ་བསྟེན་
རྒྱུའི་འདོད་པ་བྱས་] མ་སོང་།   ཁོ་ཚོས་མུ་མཐུད་ནས་མིག་མཐོང་མི་ཐུབ་པ་དང་།   ཨམ་ཅོག་གོ་ཡག་མེད་
པ་དང་།   གོམ་པ་རྒྱབ་ཐུབ་ཀྱི་མེད་པའི་གསེར་དང༌།   དངུལ་དང་།   ལི་དང་།   རྡོ་དང་།   ཤིང་ནས་
བཟོས་པའི་འདྲེ་ལ་ཕྱག་མཆོད་པ་བྱས་པ་དང་།   འདྲ་བརྙན་གྱི་མདུན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་སོང་།  

21 དེ་ག་

ནང་བཞིན་ཁོ་ཚོས་འགྱོད་པ་མ་བྱས་པ་དང་མི་གསོད་ཁྲག་སྦྱོར་བྱེད་རྒྱུ་སྤངས་མ་སོང་།   ཁོ་ཚོས་རང་གི་ངན་

བསྔགས་ཀྱི་ཉམས་ལེན་མཚམས་འཇོག་བྱེད་རྒྱུའི་འདོད་པ་མ་བྱས་པ་དང་།   ཚུལ་མིན་གྱི་འཁྲིག་སྤྱོད་དང་

ཡང་ན་རྐུ་མ་རྐུ་རྒྱུ་སྤངས་མ་སོང་།

 

Revelation 9:20-21

20 The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands nor give up worshiping demons and idols of gold and silver and bronze and stone and wood, which cannot see or hear or walk, 21 nor did they repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

 

What should we do with such warnings? Believe in the words of God and His prophetic message revealed through Jesus and repent of our sins.

Jesus speaks of being born-again to enter the kingdom of God

 

ཡོ་ཧ་ནན། 3:5-7

5 ལན་དུ་ཡེ་ཤུས་ “ངས་ཁྱེད་ལ་བདེན་པ་བདེན་པར་ཟེར་རྒྱུར། གལ་ཏེ་མི་ཞིག་ཆུ་དང་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་དམ་པའི་ཐུགས་ཉིད་བརྒྱུད་ནས་མ་སྐྱེས་ན། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་དུ་འཛུལ་བར་མི་སྲིད་དོ།

6 ལུས་ནས་སྐྱེས་པ་ནི་ལུས་ཡིན་པ་ལྟར། དམ་པའི་ཐུགས་ཉིད་ལས་སྐྱེས་པ་དེ་ནི་སེམས་ཉིད་ཡིན་ནོ།

7 ངས་ཁྱེད་རང་ལ་ཁྱེད་ཚོ་ཡང་བསྐྱར་སྐྱེ་དགོས་ཞེས་བཤད་པས་ཡ་མཚན་མ་སྐྱེད།

 

John 3:5-7

5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’

 

The result of being born-again in Christ is to live godly lives for Jesus.
