Be Fruitful for Jesus – Every Day Fellowship with Jesus – Matthew 5:17-18

 

Jesus is our Lord and Savior, how should we relate to Him in our daily lives? How are we to serve our Lord and Savior? What does it mean to fellowship with Jesus?

1དེ་ཡང་ཐོག་མ་ཉིད་ནས་བཞུགས་པའི་ཚེ་སྲོག་གི་བཀའ་དེ་གླེང་བ་ཡིན་ན། ངེད་ཅག་གིས་བཀའ་དེ་རྣ་བས་ཐོས་ཤིང་མིག་གིས་མཐོང་མྱོང་བ༌དང༌། དངོས་སུ་བལྟས་མྱོང་ལ། ལག་པས་ཀྱང་དངོས་སུ་རེག་མྱོང་ངོ་།། 2ཚེ་སྲོག་དེ་མངོན་པར་གྱུར་ཡོད་ལ་ངེད་ཅག་གིས་མཐོང་མྱོང་བ་དང་། ད་ལྟ་དེ་ལ་བདེན་དཔང་བྱེད་བཞིན་ཡོད་དེ། མ་གཞི་ཚེ་སྲོག་དེ་ཉིད་ནི་ཡབ་དང་ལྷན་དུ་བཞུགས་ཤིང་། ངེད་ཅག་ལ་མངོན་པར་གྱུར་པའི་མཐའ་མེད་པའི་ཚེ་སྲོག་དེ་ཁྱོད་ཅག་ལ་སྒྲོག་པ་ཡིན། 3ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ངེད་ཅག་ལ་འདྲིས་པའི༌ཕྱིར། ངེད་ཅག་གིས་གང་ཞིག་མཐོང་ཞིང་ཐོས་པ་དག་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ལ་སྒྲོག་པ་ཡིན། ངེད་ཅག་ནི་དངོས་གནས་ཡབ་དང་ཁོང་གི་སྲས་ཡེ་ཤུ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀར་འདྲིས་ཡོད་དོ།། 4བདག་ཅག་ཡོངས་སུ་དགའ་ཞིང་སྤྲོ་བར་འགྱུར་བའི་ཕྱིར། ངེད་ཅག་གིས་དོན་འདི་དག་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ལ་བྲིས་པའོ།།

5དཀོན་མཆོག་ནི་འོད་ཟེར་ཡིན་པས་ཁོང་ལ་མུན་ནག་གཏན་ནས་མེད་དོ།། འདི་ནི་ངེད་ཅག་གིས་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུ་ནས་ཐོས་ཤིང་ཁྱོད་ཅག་ལ་སྒྲོག་པའི་བརྡ་འཕྲིན་ཡིན་ནོ།། 6གལ་ཏེ། བདག་ཅག་གིས་དཀོན་མཆོག་དང་འདྲིས་ཡོད་ཟེར་ཡང་། ད་དུང་མུན་ནག་ནང་དུ་སྤྱོད་པ་ཡིན་ན། དེ་ནི་བདག་ཅག་གིས་རྫུན་སྨྲས་པ་ཡིན་པས་བདེན་པ་ཉིད་བཞིན་དུ་སྤྱད་པ་སྤྱོད་པ་མ་ཡིན། 7དཀོན་མཆོག་ནི་འོད་ཟེར་ནང་དུ་བཞུགས་པ་བཞིན། བདག་ཅག་འོད་ཟེར་ནང་དུ་སྤྱོད་པ་ཡིན་ན། བདག་ཅག་ཕན་ཚུན་ལ་འདྲིས་ཡོད་པ་ཡིན་ལ། ཁོང་གི་སྲས་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུའི་སྐུ་ཁྲག་གིས་བདག་ཅག་གི་སྡིག་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་འདག་པར་མཛད༌དོ།།

8བདག་ཅག་གིས་རང་ལ་སྡིག་པ་མེད་ཟེར་ན། དེ་ནི་རང་མགོ་རང་གིས་གཡོག་པ་ཡིན་པས། བདེན་པ་ཉིད་ནི་བདག་ཅག་གི་སེམས་སུ་གནས༌པ་མ་ཡིན་ནོ།། 9དཀོན་མཆོག་ནི་ཡིད་རྟོན་རུང་བ་དང་དྲང་བདེན་ཡིན་པས། བདག་ཅག་གིས་རང་གི་སྡིག་པ་མཐོལ་བཤགས་བྱས༌ན། ཁོང་གིས་བདག་ཅག་གི་སྡིག་པ་བསལ་ཞིང་དྲང་བདེན་མ་ཡིན་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་གཙང་མར་མཛད་ངེས་ཡིན། 10བདག་ཅག་གིས་སྡིག་པ་བྱས་མ་མྱོང་ཟེར་ན། བདག་ཅག་གིས་དཀོན་མཆོག་ནི་ཞལ་རྫུན་གསུང་མཁན་དུ་བརྩིས་པས། ཁོང་གི་བཀའ་ཡང་བདག་ཅག་གི་སེམས་སུ་གནས༌པ་མ་ཡིན་ནོ།།

 

1 John 1

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— 2 the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us— 3 that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4 And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.

5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

 

The Apostle John was writing about his personal encounter with Jesus who magnified the words of God in person. Together with many disciples of Jesus, they learned from the Lord and Savior proper fellowship with God.

Proper and fruitful fellowship between Man and God involves agreement and loyalty based on scripture truth which had already been revealed and written from the time of Moses presented in the Torah (Pentateuch) and also the witting of the Prophets.

When Jesus was living among the apostles in person He lived in complete obedience to scripture truth as an example of obedience to the Father and His disciples were taught to follow His practice.

17དེ་ནས་ཡང་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུས་འདི་སྐད༌དུ། བདག་ནི་བཀའ་ཁྲིམས་དང་ཡང་ན་ལུང་སྟོན་པའི་མདོ་རྣམས་མེད་པར་བཟོ་ཕྱིར་ཡོང་བར་མ་འདོད༌ཅིག བདག་ནི་མེད་པར་བཟོ་ཕྱིར་ཡོང་བ་མ་ཡིན་པར་དེ་རྣམས་བསྒྲུབ་ཕྱིར་ཡོང་བ༌ཡིན། 18བདག་གིས་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ལ་བདེན་པར་སྨྲ༌སྟེ། གནམ་ས་གཉིས་འཇིག་པའི་བར༌དུ། བཀའ་ཁྲིམས་ཀྱི་མདོ་ལས་ཡིག་འབྲུ་གཅིག་གམ་ཚེག་ཐིག་གཅིག་ཀྱང་འཇིག་པར་མི་འགྱུར༌ཞིང༌། དོན་དེ་ཐམས་ཅད་འགྲུབ་པར༌ངེས།

 

Matthew 5:17-18

17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

 

We human are under obligations to be loyal to God through obedience to His words as how Jesus lived His earthly life in pleasing the Father.

In this series of study “Be Fruitful for Jesus – Every Day Fellowship with Jesus” we are going to learn and understand how Jesus lived in obedience to the Father and how we are to follow His example.

First let’s look at Jesus’ message when He started His public ministry –

 

མད་ཐཱ། 4:12-17

12སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུས་ཁྲུས་གསོལ་མཁན་ཡོ་ཧ་ནན་བཙོན་དུ་བཟུང་ཡོད་པ་གསན་པ་དང་ག་ལིལ་ཡུལ་དུ་ཕེབས༌ཤིང༌། 13དེ་ནས་ནཱ་ཙ་རེལ་ནས་ཀཱ་ཕར་ན་ཧུམ་དུ་གནས་སྤར་ཏེ༌བཞུགས། ཀཱ་ཕར་ན་ཧུམ་ཞེས་པ་མཚོ་ག་ལིལ་གྱི་འགྲམ་དུ་ཡོད༌ལ། ཟེ་བུ་ལུན་དང་ནཱབ་ཐ་ལི་གཉིས་ཀྱི་ཡུལ་དུའང་ཡོད༌དོ།། 14དོན་འདི་ནི་ལུང་སྟོན་པ་ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ་ཡི་མདོ་ལས་ཇི་སྐད༌དུ།

15ཟེ་བུ་ལུན་དང་ནཱབ་ཐ་ལི་གཉིས༌ནི།།

ག་ལིལ་མཚོ་ཡི་ཕྱོགས་སུ་བགྲོད་ལམ༌དང༌།།

ཡོར་དན་གཙང་པོའི་ཕ་རོལ་ཡུལ་གྲུ༌སྟེ།།

ཕྱི་ཕྱོགས་མི་རྣམས་སྡོད་པའི་ག་ལིལ༌ཡུལ།།

16མུན་པའི་ནང་དུ་སྡོད་པའི་མི་རྣམས༌ཀྱིས།།

འོད་ཟེར་ཆེན་པོ་ཞིག་ནི་མིག་གིས༌མཐོང༌།།

འཆི་ཁའི་ཡུལ་གྱི་སྨག་རུམ་ཆེན་པོ༌རུ།།

སྡོད་པའི་མི་རྣམས་ལ་ནི་གཟི་འོད༌འཕྲོས།།

ཞེས་གསུངས་པ་བཞིན་འགྲུབ་པའི༌ཕྱིར། སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུས་དེ་ལྟར་མཛད་པ་ལགས༌སོ།། 17དུས་དེ་ནས་བཟུང་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུས་ཆོས་སྒྲོག་འགོ་བརྩམས་ཏེ་འདི་སྐད༌དུ། ནམ་མཁའི་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་ཉེ་བར་སླེབས་པས་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་འགྱོད་བཤགས་བྱོས་ཤིག་ཅེས་གསུངས༌སོ།།

 

Matthew 4:12-17

12 Now when he heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew into Galilee. 13 And leaving Nazareth he went and lived in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali, 14 so that what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:

15 “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,
    the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles—
16 the people dwelling in darkness
    have seen a great light,
and for those dwelling in the region and shadow of death,
    on them a light has dawned.”

17 From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

 

Jesus started His public ministry as a continuation from John the Baptist.

John the Baptist had a highly recognized public ministry of demanding the whole nation of Israel to repent of their sins and prepare to meet the Messiah whom God had chosen for the ultimate redemption of Man. The ministry of John the Baptist together with Jesus fulfilled what was spoken of the prophet Malachi

 

མ་ལ་ཀི 4:1-6

1ཀུན་དབང་ལྡན་པའི་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་གསུངས་པ། རྩྭ་སྐམ་པོ་མེས་འཚིག་པ་བཞིན་ང་རྒྱལ་ཅན་དང་མི་ངན་ཚང་མ་མེས་ཡོངས་སུ་འཚིག་པའི་ཉིན་མོ་དེ་ཡོང་རྒྱུ་ཡིན་པ་དང་། ཉིན་མོ་དེ་ལ་ཁོ་ཚོ་མེས་ཡོངས་སུ་འཚིག་ཅིང་ཤུལ་ཙམ་ཡང་མི་གནས་སོ། 2འོན་ཀྱང་ཁྱོད་ཚོ་ངའི་བཀའ་ལ་རྩིས་སྲུང་ཞུ་མཁན་ཚོའི་ཐོག་ཏུ་ངས་སྐྱོབ་པར་བྱེད་པའི་ནུས་མཐུ་དེ་ཉི་མ་ཤར་བ་བཞིན་དུ་ཤར་ཞིང་། དེའི་འོད་ཟེར་གྱིས་ཁྱོད་ཚོ་ནད་ལས་གསོ་རྒྱུ་ཡིན། བ་རའི་ནང་དུ་བཏགས་པའི་བེའུ་གློད་བཀྲོལ་བཏང་བ་བཞིན་ཁྱོད་ཚོ་རང་དབང་དང་དགའ་སྤྲོད་ངང་དུ་གནས་རྒྱུ་ཡིན། 3ངས་ལས་བྱེད་པའི་ཉིན་མོ་དེར་ཁྱོད་ཚོས་མི་ངན་རྣམས་དབང་དུ་བསྡུས་ཤིང་། དེ་རྣམས་ཁྱོད་ཚོའི་རྐང་མཐིལ་གྱི་རྡུལ་བཞིན་དུ་འགྱུར་ངེས་པ་ཡིན་ནོ།

4སྔར་ངས་རང་གི་ཞབས་ཏོག་པ་མོ་ཤེའི་བརྒྱུད་ནས་རི་བོ་སི་ནཨེ་སྒང་དུ་ཨིསི་རཱཨེལ་མི་མང་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་སྲུང་ཕྱིར་སྤྲད་པའི་བཀའ་ཁྲིམས་ཀྱི་སློབ་སྟོན་རྣམས་ཁྱོད་ཚོས་སེམས་ལ་དྲན་གསོ་བྱོས་ཤིག

5འོན་ཀྱང་འཇིགས་སུ་རུང་བའི་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཉིན་ཞག་ཆེན་པོ་དེ་མ་ཡོང་གོང་དུ་ལུང་སྟོན་པ་ཨེ་ལི་ཡཱ་དེ་ངས་ཁྱོད་ཚོའི་ཁྲོད་དུ་གཏོང་རྒྱུ་ཡིན། 6དེས་ཕ་དང་བུ་ཕྲུག་རྣམས་ཀྱི་བར་ལ་མཐུན་ལམ་བྱེད་རྒྱུ་ཡིན་པ་ལས། དེ་མིན་ང་ཡོང་ནས་ངས་ཁྱོད་ཚོའི་ཡུལ་དེ་འཇིག་པར་བྱེད་རྒྱུ་ཡིན་ནོ།།

 

Malachi 4:1-6

“For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming shall set them ablaze, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall. 3 And you shall tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I act, says the Lord of hosts.

4 “Remember the law of my servant Moses, the statutes and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.

5 “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes. 6 And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.”

 

The message of Malachi as written and recorded was noted in preparing God’s people to receive the appointed Messiah who is to come to establish the Messianic Era or what is commonly known as the 1 000-year reign of Jesus Christ or what theologians refer to as “The Millennium”

The message of Malachi was actually speaking of restoring proper fellowship with God. V4 “the law of my servant Moses, the statutes and rules” was warning the people to turn away from all forms of man-made religions and fake insincere worship of God and to return to purity of faith with God.

When Jesus preaches repentance it was the same call to purity of faith and fellowship with God. And what the Apostle John had written in 1 John 1 to the disciples who witnessed the death and resurrection of Jesus and about fellowship with God uphold the same call to purity of faith and fellowship with God.

With regards to our faith in Jesus the Christ there is the common noted reference to Abraham and how he walked with God. Abraham separated himself from man-made religions and fake insincere worship of God. During the time of Moses and the giving of the Law it was the same call to purity of faith and fellowship with God.

So from Abraham to Moses to Jesus to the times of the apostles and till today there is the same call to purity of faith and fellowship with God. This is what it means to walk in holiness and sanctification for the Lord. To be set apart to serve God in sincerity and purity of faith.

How we know we are living in holiness and sanctification for the Lord except through God’s words revealed in scripture, therefore Jesus said

Christian denominations are divided with regards to interpretations and applications of scripture truth but the foundation of our common faith in Jesus Christ is obedience to the words of God.
