Bible Study – Peter #26

པེ་ཏྲོ། ༢ 3:14-18

14 དེའི་ཕྱིར་གཅེས་པའི་སྤུན་ཟླ་རྣམས། དོན་དེ་ཚོར་རེ་སྒུག་བྱེད་དུས་ཁྱེད་ཚོས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་དྲུང་དུ་དྲི་མ་མེད་པ་དང༌། སྐྱོན་བརྗོད་རྒྱུ་མེད་པ། ཞི་བདེ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཡིན་པར་བརྩོན་ཅིག

15 དྲན་སྐུལ་བྱེད་དགོས་པར་ངེད་རྣམས་ཀྱི་གཙོ་བོའི་ཐུགས་ངང་རྒྱུད་རིང་པོ་ནི་མི་རྣམས་ཐར་པ་ཐོབ་པའི་གོ་སྐབས་ཡོང་ཆེད་ཡིན། དེ་ལྟར་ང་ཚོའི་གཅེས་པའི་སྤུན་ཟླ་པའུ་ལུ་ཡིས་ཀྱང་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཁོང་ལ་གནང་བའི་ཤེས་རབ་བཞིན་དུ་ཁྱེད་ཚོར་བྲིས།

16 ཁོང་གི་འཕྲིན་ཡིག་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་ནང་དོན་དེ་ཚོའི་སྐོར་བྲིས་ཡོད། དེའི་ནང་ལ་རྟོགས་པར་དཀའ་བའི་དོན་ཁ་ཤས་ཡོད་དེ། སློབ་སྦྱོང་བྱེད་མྱོང་མེད་པ་དང་སེམས་བརྟན་པོ་མེད་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་མདོ་གཞན་ལ་གང་བྱེད་པ་ལྟར་དོན་དེ་ཚོ་ལའང་འཁྱོག་བཤད་བྱེད་པས་མཐར་རང་ཉིད་འཇིག་པའི་རྒྱུར་འགྱུར།

17 དེའི་ཕྱིར་གཅེས་པའི་སྤུན་ཟླ་རྣམས། དོན་དེ་ཚོ་སྔོན་ནས་རྟོགས་ཟིན་པས། ཁྲིམས་འགལ་བ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ནོར་འཁྲུལ་གྱིས་མི་བསླུ་བ་དང༌། གནས་བརྟན་པོ་མི་བརླག་པའི་ཕྱིར་དོགས་ཟོན་གྱིས་ཤིག

18 ང་ཚོའི་གཙོ་བོ་དང་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་ཐུགས་རྗེ་དང་རྟོགས་པའི་ནང་རྒྱས་པར་གྱུར་ཅིག ད་ལྟ་ནས་དུས་ནམ་ཡང་ཁོང་ལ་གཟི་བརྗིད་དང་ལྡན་པར་གྱུར་ཅིག ཨ་མེན།། །།

Study Points

. Peter encouraged the disciples to set priority to live in obedience to God’s word

. Our purpose of trusting and obeying God’s will is our ultimate complete salvation where we will be in union with Christ in His kingdom living in eternity in our resurrected bodies as according to the pattern set by Jesus

. Peter mentioned of Paul’s writing which also taught disciples to live in holiness and sanctification in preparing to serve God’s will and warned against those who do corruption to godly teachings

. Peter encourages disciples to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 3:14-18

14 Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. 15 And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, 16 as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures. 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

8 འོན་ཀྱང་གཅེས་པའི་སྤུན་ཟླ་རྣམས། གཙོ་བོའི་ཆ་ནས་ཉིན་མོ་གཅིག་ནི་ལོ་སྟོང་དང་འདྲ་བ་ཡིན་ཞིང༌། ལོ་སྟོང་ནི་ཉིན་མོ་གཅིག་དང་འདྲ་བ་ཡིན་པ་མ་བརྗེད་པ་གྱིས་ཤིག

9 མི་ཁ་ཤས་ཀྱིས་གཙོ་བོས་ཞལ་ཆད་སྒྲུབ་པར་དུས་ཚོད་རིང་པོ་འགོར་བར་སེམས་ཀྱང་དོན་དངོས་ཐོག་དེ་ལྟར་མ་ཡིན། མི་སུ་ཞིག་ཀྱང་འཇིག་པར་མི་འགྱུར་བར་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱིས་སྤྱོད་པ་ངན་པ་རྣམས་སྤངས་ནས་སེམས་བསྒྱུར་བར་ཁོང་གིས་ཐུགས་ངང་རྒྱུད་རིང་པོས་སྒུག་བཞིན་ཡོད།

10 འོན་ཀྱང་གཙོ་བོའི་ཉིན་མོ་དུས་ངེས་མེད་ཀྱི་རྐུན་མ་དང་འདྲ་བར་ཡོང༌། དེ་དུས་ནམ་མཁའ་འུར་སྒྲ་དང་བཅས་པར་འདའ་ཞིང༌། འབྱུང་བ་རྣམས་མེ་ཡིས་འཇིག་པར་འགྱུར། ས་གཞི་དང་དེའི་སྟེང་གི་དངོས་པོ་ཐམས་ཅད་བསྲེག་པར་འགྱུར།

11 ཐམས་ཅད་དེ་ལྟར་འཇིག་པར་འགྱུར་བས་ཁྱེད་ལ་སྤྱོད་ལམ་བཟང་པོ་དང་ཆོས་སེམས་ཇི་ལྟ་བུ་ཞིག་ཡོད་དགོས།

12 ཁྱེད་ཚོས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཉིན་མོ་རེ་སྒུག་བྱེད་དེ་ཉིན་མོ་དེ་མགྱོགས་པོར་འོང་བའི་ཕྱིར་འབད་བརྩོན་བྱེད་དགོས། ཉིན་མོ་དེར་ནམ་མཁའ་འབར་ནས་འཇིག་ཅིང༌། འབྱུང་བ་རྣམས་མེ་ཡིས་ཞུ་བར་འགྱུར།

 13 འོན་ཀྱང་ཁོང་གིས་ཞལ་གྱིས་བཞེས་པ་བཞིན་དུ་ནམ་མཁའ་གསར་པ་དང་ས་གཞི་གསར་པ་ཞིག་འབྱུང་བ་ང་ཚོས་རེ་སྒུག་བྱེད། དེ་ལ་དྲང་བདེན་ཉིད་གནས་པར་འགྱུར།

Study Points

. Peter speaks of God’s timing as different to our human knowledge and expectation

. When God execute His judgement and fulfill His promises people are caught by surprise

. Nevertheless we who believe in the faithfulness of God must be ever ready to serve His will and purpose

. God’s will is we should walk in His call for repentance and to be ready when Jesus will return

2 Peter 3:8-13

8 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! 13 But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
