Pilgrims in Christ – Part 15

What we can learn from the letters of Peter about practice of faith in Christ in times of uncertainty.

 

པེ་ཏྲོ་དང་པོ། 3:8-12

8 མཇུག་མཐར་ཁྱེད་ཐམས་ཅད་སེམས་མཐུན་པ་དང༌། སྙིང་རྗེ། ཕན་ཚུན་ལ་བྱམས་པ། བརྩེ་སེམས། སེམས་དུལ་པོ་དང་ལྡན་པར་བྱེད་དགོས།

9 ངན་པར་ངན་ལན་མ་འཇལ་ཞིང༌། སྨད་ར་གཏོང་མཁན་ལ་སྨད་ར་མ་གཏོང་བར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས་ཤིག གང་ཡིན་ཞེ་ན། ཁྱེད་ཚོ་དེའི་ཕྱིར་བོས། དེ་ནི་ཁྱེད་ཚོར་བྱིན་རླབས་འཐོབ་པའི་ཕྱིར་རོ།

10 དེས་ན་མདོ་ལས།

གལ་ཏེ་སུ་ཡང་སྲོག་ལ་གཅེས་པ་དང༌།།

བདེ་སྐྱིད་རྫོགས་ལྡན་དུས་ཤིག་མཐོང་འདོད་ན།།

ཚིག་རྩུབ་གཡོ་སྒྱུའི་ངན་གཏམ་མ་སྨྲ་ཞིག།

11 ངན་པ་སྤངས་ནས་སྤྱོད་བཟང་སྤེལ་བ་དང༌།།

ཞི་མཐུན་ལམ་བཟང་རྟག་ཏུ་འཚོལ་ཤིག་ཨང༌།།

12 གང་ལགས་ཤེ་ན་དཀོན་མཆོག་སྤྱན་ཉིད་ཀྱིས།།

དྲང་ལྡན་པ་རྣམས་གཟིགས་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང༌།།

སྙན་ཅོག་གཏོད་ནས་ཁོ་ཚོའི་སྨོན་ལམ་གསན།།

འོན་ཏེ་ངན་སྤྱོད་མཁན་ལ་ཞལ་སློག་གོ།

 

1 Peter 3:8-12

8 Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. 9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. 10 For

“Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; 11 let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

 

Peter’s warning against “Dog-Eat-Dog Society”.

Peter was addressing believers who were scattered across Roman territories where the idea of “Dog-Eat-Dog Society” was more of a social norm and how people don’t think much about hurting each other just to get the best for themselves. Such practices were not confined to the Romans but pervasive in societies across the world today.

Peter’s message to the believers reflected what Paul said about not following the behaviors of this world

 

རོ་མཱ་པ། 12:1-2

1སྤུན་ཟླ༌རྣམས། དེ་ལྟར་ཡིན་པས། ངས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ལ་བསྐུལ་བར་བྱ༌སྟེ། ཁྱོད་ཅག་གིས་རང་གི་ལུས་པོ་ནི་གསོན་མཆོད་དུ་ཕུལ༌ཞིག དེ་ནི་དམ་པ་ཡིན་ཞིང་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཐུགས་མཉེས༌པ་དང་། ཁྱོད་ཅག་གི་སེམས་ཉིད་ཀྱི་བསྙེན་བཀུར་ཡིན་ནོ།། 2དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཐུགས་དགོངས་བཟང་པོ༌དང༌། ཡིད་དུ་འོང༌བ། ཕུན་སུམ་ཚོགས་པ་བཅས་རྟོགས་པའི༌ཕྱིར། འཇིག་རྟེན་འདིའི་ལུགས་བཞིན་མི་བྱེད་པར། སེམས་གསར་པར་བསྒྱུར་པ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་གཤིས་སྤྱོད་ཀྱང་སྒྱུར་ཅིག

 

Romans 12:1-2

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

 

As born-again disciples of Jesus we have the convictions of the Holy Spirit and the teachings of God’s truth demonstrated in the life of Jesus and we are to practice the ways of Jesus.

The life of Jesus showed how He lives in obedience for the will of God.

Peter encouragement and warning here “12 for the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil” points to the impartiality of God.

 

མངོན་པ། 22:12-13

12-13 ཡེ་ཤུ་ཡིས་གསུང་གི་ཡོད་རེད། “ལྟོས་དང་།” “ང་མགྱོགས་པོ་ཡོང་གི་ཡོད།   མི་ཞིག་གིས་བྱ་བ་ བཟང་ངན་གང་བྱས་པ་ལ་གཞིགས་པའི་ང་མི་མི་རེ་ངོ་རེ་ལ་བཟང་པོ་ལ་བཟང་ལན་དང་ངན་པ་བྱེད་མཁན་ལ་ ཉེས་པ་གཏང་ག་ཡོང་གི་ཡིན།   ཐོག་མ་དང་མཐའ་མ་དེ་ང་ཡིན།   ངས་ཚང་མ་འགོ་ཚུགས་པ་དང་དེ་ཚོ་ ཚང་མ་མཇུག་སྒྲིལ་བ་བཟོ་གི་ཡོད། [ངས་རྟེན་འབྲེལ་གྱི་དངོས་པོ་ཚང་མ་འབྱུང་བ་དང་དེའི་རིགས་ཚང་མ་ མཐའ་ཅན་བཟོ་གི་ཡོད།]

 

Revelation 22:12-13

12 “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”-

 

We live in expectation of our future inheritance in Christ in His kingdom.
