Sowing and Reaping – Part 8

 

God ordained process of sowing and reaping for man

 

ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ 55:10-11

10 ང་ཡི་བཀའ་ནི་ཁ་ཆར་བབ་པ་བཞིན།  དེ་ཚོ་གནམ་ནས་ས་གཞིར་ཆུ་བྱིན་བབས། དེ་ཚོས་སྟོན་ཐོག་སྐྱེས་རུ་འཇུག་པ་དང་།  སོ་ནམ་པ་ལ་སོན་དང་ཟ་མཁན་ལ་ཟས་བྱིན་ནོ།

11 དེར་བརྟེན་ང་ཡི་སྨྲས་པའི་བཀའ་འང་དེ་ལྟར་བྱས།  དེ་ཡིས་ང་ཡི་འཆར་གཞི་མི་འགལ་ལོ།  ང་ཡིས་བྱ་རྒྱུར་བཏང་བ་ཚང་མ་དེ་ཡིས་གྱིས།

 

Isaiah 55:10-11

10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

 

Since the time of creation as recorded in Genesis, God had ordered the process of sowing and reaping for the blessing and survival of all living here on Earth. And this principle of sowing and reaping is happening in our relationship with God as well.

The reference to watering the earth and causing growth, the integral part of productivity is of course time and seasons, from seed to maturity to bearing fruits.

From the record of Genesis we know God created seed bearing plants and ordered seasons for growth –

 

བཀོད་པ 1:9-19

9  དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ས་གཞི་མཐོང་བའི་ཕྱིར་ནམ་མཁའི་འོག་ཏུ་ཡོད་པའི་ཆུ་རྣམས་གནས་གཅིག་ཏུ་འདུས་ཤིག་ཅེས་བཀའ་གནང་བས།  དེ་བཞིན་བྱུང་ངོ་། 10དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ས་གཞི་ལ་འཛམ་གླིང་ཞེས་མིང་བཏགས་གནང་བ་དང་། ཆུ་རྣམས་གནས་གཅིག་ཏུ་འདུས་པ་དེ་ལ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ཞེས་མིང་བཏགས་གནང་ངོ། དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་དེ་གཟིགས་ནས་ཐུགས་མཉེས་སོ། 11དེ་ནས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ས་གཞིས་འབྲུ་དང་འབྲས་བུ་སྐྱེ་བའི་རྩི་ཤིང་སྣ་ཚོགས་སྐྱེ་བར་བྱོས་ཤིག་གསུངས་པ་དང་། དེ་བཞིན་དུ་བྱུང་ངོ་། 12དེར་བརྟེན་རྩི་ཤིང་སྣ་ཚོགས་སྐྱེ་བར་བྱས་པ་དང་། དེ་གཟིགས་ནས་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཐུགས་མཉེས་སོ། 13ས་རུབ་པ་དང་སྔ་དྲོ་བྱུང་བ་དེ་ནི་ཉིན་གསུམ་པའོ།

14དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་གསུངས་པ། ཉིན་མཚན་དབྱེ་བའི་ཕྱིར་ནམ་མཁར་འོད་རྣམས་བྱུང་ཞིག ནམ་དུས་རྣམས་དང་། ཉིན་རྣམས་དང་ལོ་འཁོར་སོགས་དབྱེ་བའི་ཕྱིར་འོད་དེ་རྣམས་རྟགས་མཚན་གྱི་ཚུལ་དུ་ལས་བྱོས་ཤིག། 15ས་གཞིར་འོད་ཕོག་པའི་ཕྱིར་ནམ་མཁར་འོད་དེ་རྣམས་འཕྲོ་བར་འགྱུར། དེ་བཞིན་དུ་བྱུང་ངོ་། 16དེར་བརྟེན་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཉིན་མོར་དབང་བྱེད་པའི་ཕྱིར་ཉི་མ་དང་། མཚན་མོར་དབང་བྱེད་པའི་ཟླ་བ་ཟེར་བའི་འོད་ཆེན་པོ་གཉིས་མཛད་གནང་ངོ་། ཁོང་གིས་སྐར་མ་རྣམས་ཀྱང་མཛད་གནང་ངོ། 17-18ས་ལ་འོད་ཤར་བའི་ཕྱིར་དང་ཉིན་དང་མཚན་ལ་དབང་བྱེད་པའི་ཕྱིར་དང་། འོད་དང་མུན་པ་དབྱེ་བའི་ཕྱིར་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་དེ་དག་ནམ་མཁར་འཇོགས་གནང་ངོ་། དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་དེ་གཟིགས་ནས་ཐུགས་མཉེས་སོ། 19ས་རུབ་ནས་སྔ་དྲོ་བྱུང་བ་དེ་ནི་ཉིན་བཞི་པའོ།

 

Genesis 1:9-19

9 And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

11 And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. 12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. 16 And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. 17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.

 

After the Flood of Noah, God restored His blessing for mankind and ordered the continuation of sowing and reaping

 

བཀོད་པ 8:20-22

20ནོ་ཨས་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་མཆོད་ཁྲི་ཞིག་བཟོས་ནས། ཁོང་གིས་ཆོ་ག་ལྟར་སེམས་ཅན་དང་བྱ་བྱིའུ་འདྲ་མིན་གཙང་མ་ཁ་ཤས་ནས་རེ་རེ་བླངས་ཤིང་མཆོད་ཁྲིའི་ཁར་ཆ་ཚང་བསྲེག་ནས་དམར་མཆོད་ཕུལ་ལོ། 21དམར་མཆོད་དེའི་དྲི་ཞིམ་གྱིས་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཐུགས་དགྱེས་ནས། ཁོང་རང་གི་རང་ཉིད་ལ་མིའི་རིགས་ཆུང་དུས་ནས་བསམ་པ་ངན་པ་ཡིན་པ་ངས་ཤེས་ཀྱི་ཡོད། ད་ནས་བཟུང་མི་ཡི་བྱས་པའི་ལས་ཀྱི་རྐྱེན་ས་གཞིར་ནམ་ཡང་དམོད་པ་མི་བཏང་ངོ་། ད་ལན་དང་འདྲ་བ་སྲོག་དང་ལྡན་པའི་རིགས་ཚང་མ་ངས་མེད་པར་མི་བཟོའོ། 22འཛམ་གླིང་འདི་ནམ་བར་གནས་རིང་། ས་བོན་བཏབ་ནས་སྟོན་ཐོག་རྔ་བའི་དུས་ཚོད་བྱུང་བར་འགྱུར། རྒྱུན་དུ་ཚ་གྲང་དང་། དབྱར་དགུན་དང་། ཉིན་དང་མཚན་མོ་ཡོང་བར་འགྱུར་རོ༎

 

Genesis 8:20-22

20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And when the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done. 22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”

 

So our human survival has been bonded to this God ordained order of sowing and reaping. This is something we all understand but what about our relationship with God?

What causes growth in our relationship with God is in the words of God planted in us –

 

ཡེ་ཤ་ཡཱ 55:6-9

6  ཁོང་གི་ཕྱོགས་སུ་བསྒྱུར་ནས་ཁོང་ལ་སྨོན་ལམ་འདེབས།  ད་ལྟ་ཁོང་ནི་ཐག་ཉེར་ཡོད་པ་ཡིན།

7སྤྱོད་ངན་རང་གི་བྱེད་ལུགས་དོར་བཅུག་ནས། དེ་ཚོའི་བསམ་བློ་གཏོང་ཚུལ་བསྒྱུར་རུ་བཅུག།

དེ་ཚོ་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ང་ཚོའི་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གི་ཕྱོགས།

དེ་ཚོ་བློ་ཁ་བསྒྱུར་དུ་འཇུག་ཅིག་དང་། ཁོང་ནི་བྱམས་བརྩེ་བཟོད་གསོལ་གནང་རྒྱུར་མགྱོགས།

8གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོང་གིས་བཀའ་གནང་བ། ང་ཡི་བསམ་བློ་ཁྱོད་ཚོའི་བསམ་བློ་ལྟར་མེད།

ང་ཡི་ལམ་ནི་ཁྱོད་ཚོའི་ལམ་མི་འདྲ།

9ས་ལས་མཐོ་རིས་ཇི་ལྟར་མཐོ་བ་ལྟར། ཁྱོད་སྟེང་ང་ཡི་ལམ་དང་བསམ་བློ་མཐོ།

 

Isaiah 55:6-9

6 “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near;

7 let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

 

Isaiah message is a call to repentance. To sow seed of righteousness in our lives and let the words of God bear fruits in us.

 

Obedience to God’s truth is fundamental to our relationship with Jesus.

 

We are living in a world saturated with lies and falsehood we need to forsake the way of wickedness, cast away our sinful thoughts, and to embrace the truth of God’s words.

As recorded in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus speaks of the same God ordered pattern of sowing and reaping and differentiates those who receive the words of God and those who rejected –

 

མད་ཐཱ། 13:1-9

1ཉིན་དེ་ལ་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུ་ཁང་པའི་ཕྱི་རོལ་ཏུ་ཕེབས་ཤིང་མཚོ་འགྲམ་དུ་བཞུགས༌སོ།། 2དེ་ནས་མི་སྐོར་ཚོ་མང་པོ་ཁོང་གི་དྲུང་དུ་འཛོམས་པས་ཁོང་ཉིད་མཚོ་གྲུའི་ནང་དུ་ཕེབས་ཏེ་བཞུགས་པ༌དང༌། མི་ཐམས་ཅད་མཚོ་འགྲམ་དུ་ལངས་ནས༌བསྡད། 3ཁོང་གིས་དཔེའི་སྒོ་ནས་ཆོས་མང་པོ་གསུངས་ཤིང་དེ་རྣམས་ལ་འདི་སྐད༌དུ། དེ་ཡང་ཞིང་འདེབས་མཁན་ཞིག་ཕྱི་རོལ་ཏུ་ཞིང་འདེབས་སུ་སོང་བ༌དང༌། 4ས་བོན་གཏོར་བའི་སྐབས༌སུ། ས་བོན་ཁ་ཤས་ལམ་ཁར་ཐོར་ཞིང་བྱ་རྣམས་ཡོང་ནས༌ཟོས། 5ཡང་ས་བོན་ཁ་ཤས་ས་ཉུང་སའི་རྡོ་གསེབ་ཏུ་ཐོར་ཞིང་སའི་གཏིང་མི་ཟབ་པས་ཡར་སྐྱེས་པ་མགྱོགས༌ཀྱང༌། 6ཉི་མ་ཤར་ཚེ་རྙིད་ཅིང་རྩ་བ་མ་རྒྱས་པས་བསྐམས་པ༌རེད། 7ས་བོན་ཁ་ཤས་ཚེར་མའི་གསེབ་ཏུ་ཐོར་ཞིང་ཚེར་མ་སྐྱེས་ཏེ་མར༌མནན། 8ཡང་ས་བོན་ཁ་ཤས་ས་གཤིན་ནང་དུ་ཐོར་ཞིང་འབྲས་བུ་སྨིན༌ཏེ། དེ་དག་ལས་ཁ་ཤས་ལྡབ་བརྒྱ༌དང༌། ཁ་ཤས་ལྡབ་དྲུག༌ཅུ། ཁ་ཤས་ལྡབ་སུམ་ཅུ་བཅས་སྨིན་པ༌ཡིན། 9རྣ་བ་ཡོད་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱིས་གཏམ་འདིར་ཉོན་ཅིག་ཅེས་གསུངས༌སོ།།

 

Matthew 13:1-9

That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat beside the sea. 2 And great crowds gathered about him, so that he got into a boat and sat down. And the whole crowd stood on the beach. 3 And he told them many things in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil, 6 but when the sun rose they were scorched. And since they had no root, they withered away. 7 Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. 8 Other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. 9 He who has ears, let him hear.”

 

The words of God have been preached everywhere, those who received and obey bear fruits.

Ministry of the words of God including preaching, broadcasting, magnifying, discipleship, and teachings, are all integral part of sowing and reaping for the sake of the gospel of Jesus.
