Our walk with Jesus and sowing seeds of faith along the way

 

གསུང་མགུར 119:105

ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་བཀའ་ནི་ང་ལ་སྣེ་འཁྲིད་བྱེད་མཁན་བཞུ་མར་དང།

ང་ལ་འགྲོ་ལམ་སྟོན་མཁན་འོད་ནི་དེ་རང་ཡིན།

 

Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

 

Since we believed in Jesus we are on this journey of faith.

Jesus is the living word of God in human form.

 

ཡོ་ཧ་ནན། 1:1-5

1ཐོག་མར་བཀའ་ནི་ཡོད་ཅིང་བཀའ་དེ༌ཉིད།།

དཀོན་མཆོག་ཉིད་དང་ལྷན་ཅིག་ཉིད་དུ༌བཞུགས།།

བཀའ་ཞེས་གྲགས་པ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཡིན་ལགས༌ཤིང༌།།

2བཀའ་དང་དཀོན་མཆོག་གདོད་ནས་ལྷན་དུ༌བཞུགས།།

3དེ་ཡང་འཇིག་རྟེན་སྣོད་བཅུད་མ་ལུས༌པ།།

བཀའ་དེ་བརྒྱུད་ནས་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཉིད་ཀྱིས༌བསྐྲུན།།

ཁོང་གིས་བཟོས་པའི་དངོས་པོ་མཐའ་དག༌ལས།།

བཀའ་དེ་མ་བརྒྱུད་བསྐྲུན་པ་ཅི་ཡང༌མེད།།

4ཁོང་གི་ནང་དུ་ཚེ་སྲོག་བཞུགས་པ་དང༌།།

ཚེ་སྲོག་དེ་ནི་མི་ཡི་གཟི་འོད་དོ།།

5གཟི་འོད་ཉིད་ནི་མུན་པར་འཕྲོ་བྱེད༌ཀྱང༌།།

མུན་པ་དེ་ལས་རྒྱལ༌བར་མ་གྱུར་ཏོ།།

 

John 1:1-5

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

 

Our belief will be reflected in our practice and fellowship of disciples becomes our identifiable culture in society.

Disciples together, we are walking towards the kingdom of God and pursuing daily fellowship with Jesus. And unwittingly we are sowing seeds of faith into the lives of those we come into contact with as we bear witness to Christ’s death and resurrection. The gatherings of saints, what we do to observe Jesus’ Passover, Death on the Cross, and Resurrection, are ongoing living witness to the redemption plan and power of God.

As people around us watch and observe what we do and why we acted in such manners to follow Jesus, there are people whose hearts are open while others may remain closed.

As we live in obedience to Christ’s teaching, people around us do see our faith and the light in us, and it is a matter of how they will think and consider what we do –

 

མཛད་འཕྲིན། 11:25-26

25དེ་ནས་ཁོ་རང་ཐཱར་ཟི་ཞེས་པར་སོ་ལོ་འཚོལ་དུ་སོང༌ཞིང༌། 26ཁོང་བཙལ་ནས་རྙེད་པ་དང་ཨན་ཏི་ཡོག་ཡཱ་རུ་ཁྲིད་ཡོང་ཞིང་། དེ་ནས་ཁོང་གཉིས་ལོ་གཅིག་གི་རིང་ལ་ཆོས་ཚོགས་དང་མཉམ་དུ་འཚོགས་ཏེ་མི་མང་པོར་ཆོས་གསུངས་སོ།། རྗེས་འབྲང་པ་རྣམས་ལ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་པ་ཞེས་པའི་མིང་ནི་ཐོག་མར་ཨན་ཏི་ཡོག་ཡཱ་ནས་ཐོགས༌པའོ།།

 

Acts 11:25-26

25 So Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, 26 and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught a great many people. And in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.

 

The identity “Christians” was not coined by disciples themselves but labeled upon them by locals who witnessed the rise and numeric growth of this group of people who keep preaching Jesus and earnestly wanting to follow the ways of Jesus.

In the local context of Antioch there was a mixed reaction to “Christians“. People were curious what kind of a new religious group is this? And not a few were horrified seeing how these “Christians” threw away and destroyed objects of idols they used to worship! But there were those among the curious minded who were later drawn in.

Is it not interesting how many of us were drawn into Jesus? Even for those born and raised in Christian family there was that period of time when a person will be drawn into deeper fellowship with Jesus. All of us are on this journey of faith, as the words of God is being sowed into us, it do get spilled over to people around us.

Remember how Jesus started His discipleship recruitment –

 

མད་ཐཱ། 4:17-22

17དུས་དེ་ནས་བཟུང་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུས་ཆོས་སྒྲོག་འགོ་བརྩམས་ཏེ་འདི་སྐད༌དུ། ནམ་མཁའི་རྒྱལ་སྲིད་ཉེ་བར་སླེབས་པས་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་འགྱོད་བཤགས་བྱོས་ཤིག་ཅེས་གསུངས༌སོ།།

18དེ་ཡང་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུ་ཁོང་ཉིད་མཚོ་ག་ལིལ་གྱི་མཚོ་འགྲམ་བརྒྱུད་ནས་ཕེབས་པ༌ན། སི་མོན་ཞེས་ཀྱང་འབོད་པའི་པེ་ཏྲོ་དང་ཨན་དྲི་ཡཱ་སྟེ་ཉ་པ་སྤུན་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་མཚོ་ནང་དུ་དྲ་རྒྱ་འཕེན་བཞིན་པ་གཟིགས༌ཤིང༌། 19ཁོང་གིས་དེ་གཉིས་ལ་འདི་སྐད༌དུ། བདག་གི་རྗེས་སུ་ཤོག༌དང༌། ངས་ཁྱོད་གཉིས་ལ་ཉ་ཐོབ་པ་ལྟར་མི་ཡང་འཐོབ་པར་བྱའོ་གསུངས་མ༌ཐག 20ཁོ་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་དྲ་རྒྱ་དོར་ནས་ཁོང་གི་རྗེས་སུ༌འབྲངས། 21དེ་ནས་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུ་མདུན་དུ་ཕེབས་པ༌དང་། ཡ་ཀོབ་དང་ཡོ་ཧ་ནན་སྤུན་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་གྲུ་སྟེང་དུ་རང་གི་ཕ་ཟེ་བད་ཡཱ་དང་མཉམ་དུ་དྲ་རྒྱ་བཟོ་བཅོས་བྱེད་བཞིན་པ་གཟིགས་ཏེ་ཁོ་གཉིས་ཚུར་བོས་པ༌ན། 22ཁོ་གཉིས་ཀྱིས་དེ་མ་ཐག་རང་གི་ཕ་དང་མཚོ་གྲུ་བསྐྱུར་ནས་ཁོང་གི་རྗེས་སུ་འབྲངས༌སོ།།

 

Matthew 4:17-22

17 From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

18 While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 19 And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 Immediately they left their nets and followed him. 21 And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. 22 Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

 

Peter, Andrew, James, and John, they all had prior knowledge of the coming Messiah but exactly who will be the Messiah they yet to discover. And what does it mean to be prepared to receive the Messiah as John the Baptist preached about?

Even after 3 years of fellowship with Jesus these disciples were still in doubts. It was after encountering the resurrected Christ in person then they were fully convinced.

 

ཡོ་ཧ་ནན། 20:26-29

26དེ་ནས་ཉིན་བརྒྱད་འགོར་བའི་རྗེས༌སུ། ཐོ་མཱའང་ཐུགས་སྲས་གཞན་རྣམས་དང་མཉམ་དུ་སླར་ཡང་ཁང་པ་དེའི་ནང་དུ་བསྡད་ཅིང་སྒོ་བརྟན་པོར་བརྒྱབ་པ༌ལ། སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུ་གནས་དེར་བྱོན་ནས་ཁོ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་དཀྱིལ་དབུས་སུ་བཞེངས་ཏེ་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་བདེ་བར་སྨོན་ཞེས་གསུངས་པ༌དང༌། 27ཐོ་མཱ་ལ་འདི་སྐད༌དུ། ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་རང་གི་མཛུབ་མོ་བརྐྱངས་ནས་བདག་གི་ལག་པ་ལ་རེག་པར༌གྱིས། ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་རང་གི་ལག་པ་བརྐྱངས་ནས་བདག་གི་གཞོགས་ལ་ཞོག༌དང༌། མི་དད་པའི་སེམས་སྤོངས་ལ་དད་པ་བྱོས་ཤིག་ཅེས་གསུངས་སོ།། 28དེ་ནས་ཐོ་མཱས་ང་ཡི་གཙོ་བོ༌ལགས། ང་ཡི་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལགས་ཞེས་ཞུས་སོ།། 29ཡང་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུས་འདི་སྐད༌དུ། ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་ང་རང་མཐོང་ནས་ད་གཟོད་དད་པ་བྱས་པ༌ཡིན། ང་རང་མ་མཐོང་བར་དད་པ་བྱེད་མཁན་རྣམས་ནི་བདེའོ་ཞེས་གསུངས༌སོ།།

 

John 20:26-29

26 Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” 28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

 

These disciples who followed Jesus during the 3 years of public ministry had the words of God sowed into their lives, till they encountered the resurrected Christ, and after Pentecost, they went out doing what Jesus did, preaching and sowings seeds of faith calling for people to repent and receive the Messiah.

Today we are among disciples who did not see the resurrected Jesus in person but we do believe and Jesus declared that we are blessed!

How do we believe without seeing the resurrected Christ?

Somebody preached to us Jesus? Yes! And we have the words of God with us!

མུན་པ་དེ་ལས་རྒྱལ༌བར་མ་གྱུར་ཏོ།།

Our journey of faith is continuing this cycle of sowing and reaping. This have been going on for generations and will carry on till Christ return and the world will see the King of Kings enthroned on Mount Zion.

As disciples of Jesus we lived according to His words and we fellowship together as according to His words, this is how we sow seeds of faith among us and towards those who are observing. Perhaps one day they will be drawn to Jesus too. We pray for hearts to be open and receptive.

The word of God is precious among us and to be magnified!
