Sowing mercy and kindness for the sake of the Gospel and following the example of Jesus

 

ལོ་ཀུ 6:38

ཁྱོད་ཅག་གིས་མི་གཞན་ལ་བྱིན་དང་ཁྱོད་ཅག་ལའང་གནང་ངེས༌ཏེ། དཔེར་ན་བྲེ་བཟང་པོར་འབྲུ་རིགས་བྱུར་བུར་གཏམས་ཤིང་ཡང་ཡང་གནོན་བཅག་བྱས་ཏེ་སྤྲུགས་ནས་ཁྱོད་ཅག་གི་པང་དུ་བླུག་ངེས༌ཡིན། རྒྱུ་མཚན་ནི་ཁྱོད་ཅག་གིས་སྣོད་ཅི་ལྟ་བུ་ལས་མི་གཞན་ལ་བྱིན༌ན། ཁྱོད་ཅག་ལའང་སྣོད་དེ་ལྟ་བུ་ལས་གནང་བར་འགྱུར་ཞེས་གསུངས༌སོ།།

 

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

 

The message in Luke 6 is in the context of showing kindness and mercy and interestingly many hearts have been opened due to acts of kindness and mercy beyond expectation.

Showing kindness and mercy is an act of sacrifice.

Wrong doers who feel guilty and know they don’t deserve forgiveness don’t expect to receive pardon easily, and they know people will not be willing to make sacrifices for them. Many will walk their own path and even continue in their sins and wrong doings. Therefore many in this world have continued to carry on living without hope and struggle in darkness. Do they not care about a better future? Do they know if they do have a chance for a better future?

In the same context Jesus highlighted what people usually do

 

ལོ་ཀུ 6:32-36

32ཁྱོད་ཅག་གིས་རང་ལ་བྱམས་མཁན་རྣམས་ལ་བྱམས་པར་བྱེད༌ན། ཁྱོད་ཅག་ལ་དྲིན་ལན་ཅི་ལ༌འཐོབ། མི་སྡིག་ཅན་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཀྱང་རང་ལ་བྱམས་མཁན་རྣམས་ལ་བྱམས་པར་བྱེད་དོ།། 33ཡང་ཁྱོད་ཅག་གིས་རང་ལ་ལས་བཟང་པོ་བྱེད་མཁན་རྣམས་ལ་ལས་བཟང་པོ་བྱེད༌ན། ཁྱོད་ཅག་ལ་དྲིན་ལན་ཅི་ལ༌འཐོབ། མི་སྡིག་ཅན་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཀྱང་དེ་ལྟར་བྱེད་དོ།། 34ཁྱོད་ཅག་གིས་ཕྱིར་འཐོབ་པར་རེ་བ་བཅངས་ནས་མི་གཞན་ལ་བསྐྱིས་པ་ཡིན༌ན། ཁྱོད་ཅག་ལ་དྲིན་ལན་ཅི་ལ༌འཐོབ། གྲངས་ཀ་ལྟར་ཕྱིར་ལེན་པའི་ཆེད་དུ་སྡིག་ཅན་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཀྱང་སྡིག་ཅན་གཞན་ལ་བསྐྱིས་པ༌ཡིན། 35ཁྱོད་ཅག་གིས་རང་གི་དགྲ་བོ་རྣམས་ལ་བྱམས་ཤིང་ལས་བཟང་པོ་བྱོས༌དང༌། ཕྱིར་འཐོབ་པའི་རེ་བ་མི་འཛིན་པར་དེ་རྣམས་ལ་སྐྱིས༌ཤིག དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཁྱོད་ཅག་ལ་བྱ་དགའ་ཆེན་པོ་གནང་ངེས་པ༌དང༌། བླ་ན་མེད་པའི་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་བུ་དང་བུ་མོ་རུ་འགྱུར། རྒྱུ་མཚན་ནི་ཁོང་གི་བཀའ་དྲིན་མི་དྲན་པའི་མི་དང་མི་ངན་ལའང་ཁོང་གིས་ཐུགས་རྗེ་གནང་བས༌སོ།། 36བདག་ཅག་གི་ཡབ་ནི་བྱམས་སྙིང་རྗེ་ཅན་ཡིན་པ་བཞིན་ཁྱོད་ཅག་ཀྱང་སྙིང་རྗེ་ཅན་ཡིན་དགོས་ཞེས་གསུངས༌སོ།།

 

Luke 6:32-36

32 “If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. 35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. 36 Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.

 

Jesus was addressing what people in this world have been accustomed to.

It’s a quid pro quo world we are living in and people usually don’t show kindness and mercy to those who they think do not deserve it or of no benefit to themselves.

Jesus was not advocating some kind of nice attitude to show that we are His disciples. Jesus was demonstrating the power of God to forgive and human ability to repent in response to God’s mercy. Jesus was showing His disciple His own acts of mercy and kindness.

We have heard countless incidents of wrong-doers repenting in tears before the Lord due to someone’s acts of kindness and conviction of the Holy Spirit. And the greatest acts of kindness and mercy came from Jesus when He died on the cross and shed His blood to redeem lost souls

 

རོ་མཱ་པ། 5:6-11

6དེ་ཡང་བདག་ཅག་ཉམ་ཐག་པའི་དུས༌སུ། སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་ནི་དུས་བཅད་ལྟར་སྡིག་ཅན་རྣམས་ཀྱི་དོན་དུ་སྐུ་གྲོངས༌པ་ཡིན་ནོ།། 7སྤྱིར་མི་གཞུང་དྲང་གི་དོན་དུ་འཆི་བ་ཉུང་ཞིང་མི་བཟང་པོའི་དོན་དུ་འཆི་ཕོད་པ་ཡོད་སྲིད་མོད། 8འོན་ཀྱང་སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་ནི་བདག་ཅག་ད་དུང་སྡིག་ཅན་ཡིན་པའི་དུས༌སུ། བདག་ཅག་གི་དོན་དུ་སྐུ་གྲོངས༌པ་ཡིན། དེ་ལས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཁོང་གི་བྱམས་པ་ནི་བདག་ཅག་ལ་མངོན་པར་མཛད༌དོ།།

9ད་ལྟ་བདག་ཅག་ནི་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུའི་སྐུ་ཁྲག་བརྒྱུད་ནས་མི་རྣམ་དག་ཏུ་བརྩིས་ཡོད༌པས། དེ་ལས་ལྷག་པར་ཁོང་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཐུགས་ཁྲོ་ལས་བདག་ཅག་ཐར་བར་འགྱུར་རོ།། 10ཅིའི་ཕྱིར་ཞེ་ན། བདག་ཅག་དགྲ་བོ་ཡིན་པའི་དུས༌སུ། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་སྲས་སྐུ་གྲོངས་པ་བརྒྱུད་ནས་དཀོན་མཆོག་དང་འདུམ་འགྲིག་བྱུང༌བས་ན། དེ་ལས་ལྷག་པར་ཁོང་ཉིད་སླར་གསོན་པ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་བདག་ཅག་ཐར་བར་མཛད་ངེས་ཡིན། 11དེར་མ་ཟད། བདག་ཅག་ནི་རང་རེའི་གཙོ་བོ་ཡེ་ཤུ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་བརྒྱུད་ནས་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་འདུམས་པ་དང་། ཡང་ཁོང་ཉིད་བརྒྱུད་ནས་བདག་ཅག་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་དགའ་མགུ་བྱུང་ངོ་།།

 

Romans 5:6-11

6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

 

Because of Christ’s sacrifice we came to receive salvation!

Because of Jesus we know the kindness and mercy of God.

Paul speaks of this ministry of reconciliation being enabled by Christ’s sacrifice for us

 

ཀོ་རིན་ཐུ་པ་གཉིས་པ། 5:14-21

14ངེད་ཅག་གི་སེམས་སུ་མི་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་ཚབ་ཏུ་མི་གཅིག་སྐུ་གྲོངས་པ་ཡིན་ན་མི་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱང་ཤི་བ་ཐག་གིས་ཆོད་པས། སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་བྱམས་པས་ངེད་ཅག་ལ་ངར་ཤུགས་སློང་བ་ཡིན། 15སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཡེ་ཤུ་ནི་མི་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་ཆེད་དུ་སྐུ་གྲོངས་པ་ཡིན༌ཏེ། གསོན་པོར་གནས་པ་རྣམས་ནི་དེང་ཕྱིན་རང་ཉིད་ཀྱི་དོན་དུ་མི་གསོན༌པར། ཁོ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཆེད་དུ་སྐུ་གྲོངས་ཤིང་སླར་གསོན་པ་ཁོང་ཉིད་ཀྱི་དོན་དུ་གསོན་དགོས་པའི་ཕྱིར༌རོ།།

16དེའི༌ཕྱིར། བདག་ཅག་གིས་ད་ནས་བཟུང་མིའི་ཕྱི་ཡི་རྣམ་པར་མི༌བལྟའོ།། དེ་སྔོན་ཕྱིའི་རྣམ་པར་བལྟས་ནས་སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་ངོས་བཟུང་མྱོང་ཡང་ད་ལྟ་དེ་ལྟར་ངོས་མི་འཛིན་པས། 17སུ་ཞིག་སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་ནང་དུ་ཡོད༌ན། མི་དེ་ནི་གསར་དུ་བསྐྲུན་པའི་མི་ཡིན༌ལ། འདས་དོན་ཚང་མ་མེད་པར་གྱུར་ཅིང་། ལྟོས་དང་། གསར་པ་དེ་བྱུང་འདུག་གོ། 18དོན་ཐམས་ཅད་ནི་དཀོན་མཆོག་ནས་བྱུང་བ༌སྟེ། ཁོང་གིས་སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་བརྒྱུད་ནས་བདག་ཅག་ཁོང་དང་འདུམ་པར་མཛད་པ༌དང༌། མི་རྣམས་ཁོང་དང་འདུམ་པར་མཛད་པའི་ལས་འགན་ཡང་བདག་ཅག་ལ་གནང༌བ་ཡིན། 19དེ་ནི་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་ནང་དུ་འཇིག་རྟེན་གྱི་མི་རྣམས་ཁོང་ཉིད་དང་འདུམ་པར་མཛད༌ཅིང༌། ཁོ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཉེས་སྐྱོན་ཁོ་རྣམས་ལ་མི་འགེལ༌བར། འདུམ་པར་མཛད་པའི་བཀའ་ཡང་བདག་ཅག་ལ་བཅོལ་བ་ཡིན། 20དེ་བས་ངེད་ཅག་ནི་སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་སྐུ་ཚབ་པ་ཡིན༌ལ། དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ངེད་ཅག་བརྒྱུད་ནས་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་ལ་བསྐུལ་བ༌བཞིན། ངེད་ཅག་གིས་སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་ཚབ་བྱས་ནས་ཁྱོད་རྣམས་དཀོན་མཆོག་དང་འདུམ་པར༌ཞུའོ།། 21བདག་ཅག་སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་ནང་ནས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་མི་རྣམ་དག་ཏུ་འགྱུར་བའི༌ཕྱིར། དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་སྡིག་པ་མེད་པ་དེ་ཉིད་བདག་ཅག་གི་ཚབ་ཏུ་སྡིག་པར་མཛད༌དོ།།

 

2 Corinthians 5:14-21

14 For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; 15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.

16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

 

Showing kindness and mercy is sowing seeds of forgiveness and with the hope and intention to harvest repentance among sinners.

The world is in pain and sufferings due to sins and forces of darkness at work.

We know Jesus is Lord and Savior and what stands between us and sinners are our acts of kindness and mercy in the name of Jesus which can move mountains and make straight path for those who will seek repentance and forgiveness.

The gospel of Christ is about the forgiveness of God and calling for Man to repent.
