Tibetan Script Gospel Meditation – Mark 16:12,13

Mark 16.12 - 13 w BAfter these things he appeared in another form to two of them as they were walking into the country. And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them.

As these two walked home still not believing, Yeshu met them. This stranger seemed unknown to them, until he spoke.

Then they turned round and hurried all the way back to Jerusalem. But the others too still would not believe.

Why so slow to believe such wonderful life-giving news?

                                                    *****************************

Yeshu looked down on men with love from the cross. And now that he is risen he will come and walk with us. This is the truth indeed. But the more in return those disciples loved Yeshu and wanted him, the more amazing the truth was felt to be. Too wonderful; could it really be!

Dear reader what makes it difficult for you to believe? Let us know.

Tibetan Script Gospel Meditation – Mark 16:9-11

Mark 16.9-11 w BNow when he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept. But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it.

Despite their fear one of the three women did then run and tell the disciples. But still they did not believe. And not believing, how could they tell the world?

Why then did Yeshu choose to meet her? What to say? Was it because she, who had been set free from so much evil, loved him so much?

What about today? In these days too Yeshu will meet with those who love him.

Dear Reader                                                                                                                                 You may have questions about events in the Gospel story that puzzle you. If you wish, we could post for you some of Yeshu’s long discussions that he held with puzzled people and which were recorded by John Son of Zebedee in the Gospel story that he wrote. If you want this, please let us know.                                                                                                                                           What questions do you have?

Tibetan Script Gospel Meditation – Mark 16:1-8

Mark 16.1-8 w BWhen the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen,  they went to the tomb. And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back – it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth. who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone for they were afraid.

RESURRECTION                                                              Yeshu has risen to life!                                                                                                                 Why were the women so frightened? It was because they realised that a messenger from God had spoke to them. Why so astonished? Because the huge stone had been moved, and because the shelf inside was empty. Why say nothing at first? If they as eye-witnesses had found it difficult to take in, what would the others think of women’s talk?                                                                                                                                                                                                        ***************************                                                                      Dear Reader                                                                                                                                      If these brave and devoted women could hardly believe because of the awesome reality, and could not speak of it, what happened next? How did Peter hear? and how did the others come to know the news? And was Yeshu seen later by the disciples when they fled to Galilee?                              The story that Mark himself told seems to have its ending here. And the remaining sections of the Gospel seem to be a ‘Longer Ending’ added by other writers who felt that John Mark’s short ending was incomplete. We will add in 4 more posts what these other men wrote.                                         But we ask you, respected readers, “What else do you want to know about the gospel story, and what happened afterwards? Please reply to us.”
