བཀོད་པ 16 – Genesis 16

16:1  ཨབ་རམ་གྱི་ཆུང་མ་ས་ར་ཡི་ལ་ཕྲུ་གུ་མ་སྐྱེས་སོ།  འོན་ཀྱང་མོ་རང་ལ་ཨི་ཇིབ་ཡུལ་གྱི་བྲན་མོ་ཧ་གྷར་ཞེས་པ་ཞིག་ཡོད་པས།

Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. She had a female Egyptian servant whose name was Hagar.

16:2  ས་ར་ཡིས་ཨབ་རམ་ལ་སྨྲས་པ།  གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ངའི་མངལ་དེ་འགོག་གནང་ཡོད་པས།  ད་ཁྱེད་ངའི་བྲན་མོ་དང་མཉམ་དུ་ཉོལ་ཞིག  གཅིག་བྱེས་ན་མོ་ལས་ངའི་ཆེད་དུ་ཕྲུ་གུ་ཞིག་སྐྱེ་ཐུབ་ཡོང་།  ཨབ་རམ་གྱིས་ས་ར་ཡིས་ལབ་པར་ཉན་ནོ།

And Sarai said to Abram, “Behold now, the Lord has prevented me from bearing children. Go in to my servant; it may be that I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.

16:3  ས་ར་ཡིས་ཨབ་རམ་ལ་རང་གི་བྲན་མོ་དང་མཉམ་དུ་སྡོད་བཅུག་གོ  ཨབ་རམ་ཀ་ནན་དུ་གནས་ནས་ལོ་བཅུའི་རྗེས་སུ་བྱ་བ་འདི་བྱུང་ངོ་།

So, after Abram had lived ten years in the land of Canaan, Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar the Egyptian, her servant, and gave her to Abram her husband as a wife.

16:4  ཨབ་རམ་གྱིས་ཧ་གྷར་མཉམ་དུ་ཉལ་ནས་མོ་རང་མངལ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤེས་ཏེ་ང་རྒྱལ་སྐྱེད་ནས།  ས་ར་ཡི་ལ་སྨད་པར་བྱེད་དོ།

And he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, she looked with contempt on her mistress.

16:5  དེ་ནས་ས་ར་ཡིས་ཨབ་རམ་ལ།  ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་ཧ་གྷར་གྱིས་ང་ལ་སྨད་པ་དང་། ངས་རང་གི་བྲན་མོ་ཁྱེད་ལ་སྤྲད་ཀྱང་།  ད་མོ་རང་མངལ་དང་ལྡན་པ་ཤེས་ནས་མོས་ང་ལ་སྨད་པས།  ད་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཁྱེད་དང་ངས་བར་སུ་བདེན་པ་ཡིན་མིན་ཞལ་ཆེ་གཅོད་པར་ཤོག་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ།

And Sarai said to Abram, “May the wrong done to me be on you! I gave my servant to your embrace, and when she saw that she had conceived, she looked on me with contempt. May the Lord judge between you and me!”

16:6  ཨབ་རམ་གྱིས་ལན་ལ།  ཧ་གྷར་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་བྲན་མོ་ཡིན་པས་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་དབང་འོག་ཏུ་ཡོད། ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་མོ་ལ་ག་རེ་འོས་པ་བཞིན་དུ་བྱོས་ཤིག་ཅེས་སྨྲས་སོ།  དེ་ནས་ས་ར་ཡིས་ཧ་གྷར་ལ་སྡང་པོ་བྱས་པ་དང་ཧ་གྷར་བྲོས་སོ།

But Abram said to Sarai, “Behold, your servant is in your power; do to her as you please.” Then Sarai dealt harshly with her, and she fled from her.

16:7  ཡུལ་ཤུར་གྱི་ལམ་དུ་འབྲོག་སྟོང་གི་ཆུ་མིག་གཅིག་གི་འགྲམ་དུ་གཙོ་བོའི་ཕོ་ཉ་ཞིག་མོ་དང་འཕྲད་དེ།

The angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, the spring on the way to Shur.

16:8  ས་ར་ཡི་བྲན་མོ་ཧ་གྷར་ཁྱོད།  ག་ནས་ཡོང་སྟེ་ས་ཆ་ག་རུ་འགྲོའམ་ཞེས་ཕོ་ཉས་འདྲི་པས།  ལན་དུ་ཧ་གྷར་གྱིས།  ངའི་ཇོ་མོ་ས་ར་ཡི་དྲུང་ནས་བྲོས་བཞིན་ཡོད་སྨྲས་པ་དང་།

And he said, “Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from and where are you going?” She said, “I am fleeing from my mistress Sarai.”

16:9  ཕོ་ཉས་གསུངས་པ།  ད་ཁྱོད་རང་རང་གི་ཇོ་མོའི་ཙར་ཕྱིར་ལོག་ནས་མོའི་གཡོག་བྱོས་ཤིག

The angel of the Lord said to her, “Return to your mistress and submit to her.”

16:10  དེ་ནས་ཁོང་གིས་གསུངས་པ།  ངས་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་བུ་བརྒྱུད་ཤིན་ཏུ་མང་པོ་འགྱུར་བཅུག་ཏེ་དེ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་གྲངས་སུས་ཀྱང་རྩིས་མི་ཐུབ་བོ།

The angel of the Lord also said to her, “I will surely multiply your offspring so that they cannot be numbered for multitude.”

16:11  ཁྱོད་ལ་བུ་ཞིག་སྐྱེས་ཡོང་།  ཁོའི་མིང་ཨིཤ་མ་ཨེལ་བཏགས་ཤིག།  གང་ལ་ཞེ་ན། གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་སྡུག་བསྔལ་གྱི་ཞུ་འབོད་གསན་ཡོད།

And the angel of the Lord said to her, “Behold, you are pregnant and shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, because the Lord has listened to your affliction.

16:12  ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་བུ་ནི་ནགས་ཀྱི་རྐྱང་རྒོད་དང་འདྲ་བ་མི་ཐམས་ཅད་དང་མཉམ་དུ་མི་མཐུན་པ་དང་།  མི་གཞན་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱང་ཁོ་དང་མི་མཐུན།  རང་གི་གཉེན་ཚན་ཐམས་ཅད་ལས་འབྲལ་ཏེ་སོ་སོར་གནས་པར་བྱའོ།

He shall be a wild donkey of a man, his hand against everyone and everyone’s hand against him, and he shall dwell over against all his kinsmen.”

16:13  ཧ་གྷར་གྱིས་བསམ་པ།  ངས་བདེན་པར་དཀོན་མཆོག་མཐོང་ནས་  དེའི་སྐོར་བཤད་པ་ལ་ང་ད་དུང་གསོན་པོར་ལུས་ཡོད་དམ།  འདི་ལྟར་མོ་མཉམ་དུ་བཀའ་མོལ་གནང་མཁན་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་མོས་གཟིགས་པར་གནང་མཁན་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཞེས་མིང་བཏགས་སོ།

So she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “You are a God of seeing,” for she said, “Truly here I have seen him who looks after me.

16:14  དེའི་རྐྱེན་ཀ་དྷེཤི་དང་བྷེ་རེད་ཀྱི་བར་ལ་ཡོད་པའི་ཁྲོན་པ་དེ་ལ།  ང་ལ་མཐོང་བ་གནང་མཁན་གསོན་པོའི་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཁྲོན་པ་ཞེས་མི་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་མིང་བཏགས་སོ།

Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; it lies between Kadesh and Bered.

16:15  ཧ་གྷར་ལས་ཨབ་རམ་གྱི་བུ་ཞིག་བྱུང་ངོ་།  ཁོང་གིས་ཁོའི་མིང་ལ་ཨིཤ་མ་ཨེལ་ཞེས་བཏགས་སོ།

And Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael.

16:16  དེ་དུས་ཨབ་རམ་ལོ་བརྒྱད་ཅུ་གྱ་དྲུག་ལོན་ཡོད་དོ༎

Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram.

 

བཀོད་པ 15 – Genesis 15

15:1  དེའི་རྗེས་སུ་ཨབ་རམ་གྱིས་ཞལ་གཟིགས་ཞིག་མཐོང་བའི་ནང་།  དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས། ཨབ་རམ་ལ་མ་འཇིགས་ཤིག།  ངས་ཁྱོད་ལ་ཉེན་ཁ་ཐམས་ཅད་ལས་སྲུང་སྟེ་བྱ་དགའ་ཆེན་པོ་ཞིག་སྟེར་བར་བྱ་ཞེས་གསུངས་སོ།

After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.”

15:2  འོན་ཀྱང་ཨབ་རམ་གྱིས་ལན་དུ།  བླ་ན་མེད་པའི་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལགས་ང་ལ་ཕྲུ་གུ་གཅིག་ཀྱང་མེད་པའི་རྐྱེན་གྱིས་ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་བྱ་དགའ་དེ་ང་ལ་ཕན་ཐོག་མི་ཡོང་།  དྷ་མསེ་ཀསེ་ཀྱི་ཨེ་ལི་ཨེ་ཛེར་ཞེས་པ་ནི་ངའི་ནོར་བདག་གཅིག་པོ་དེ་ཡིན་ནོ།

But Abram said, “O Lord God, what will you give me, for I continue[a] childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”

15:3  ཁྱེད་ཀྱིས་ང་ལ་ཕྲུ་གུ་གནང་མེད་པས།  ངའི་བྲན་གཡོག་གཅིག་ངའི་ནོར་བདག་ཏུ་འགྱུར་ཡོང་ཞུས་སོ།

And Abram said, “Behold, you have given me no offspring, and a member of my household will be my heir.”

15:4  གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་འདི་ལྟར་གསུངས་པ་ཁོང་གིས་ཐོས་སོ། བྲན་གཡོག་ཨེ་ལི་ཨེ་ཛེར་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་ནོར་བདག་ཏུ་འགྱུར་མི་ཡོང་། ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་བུ་དེའི་ནོར་བདག་ཏུ་འགྱུར་ཡོང་།

And behold, the word of the Lord came to him: “This man shall not be your heir; your very own son shall be your heir.”

15:5  ཁོང་གིས་ཁོ་ལ་ཕྱི་རོལ་དུ་འཁྲིད་དེ།  ནམ་མཁར་བལྟས་ཏེ་སྐར་མ་རྣམས་རྩིས་ཤིག དེ་ལྟར་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་རིགས་བརྒྱུད་འབྱུང་བར་འགྱུར་གསུངས་སོ།

And he brought him outside and said, “Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”

15:6  ཨབ་རམ་གྱིས་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་བློ་བཅོལ་ལོ།  གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ཁོ་དང་ཐུགས་དགྱེས་ནས་ཁོ་ལ་ངོས་ལེན་གནང་ངོ་།

And he believed the Lord, and he counted it to him as righteousness.

15:7  དེ་ནས་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཁོ་ལ།  བྷེ་བྷི་ལོ་ནི་ཡའི་ཨུར་ནས་ཁྱོད་ལ་འཁྲིད་དེ་ཡུལ་འདི་སྟེར་མཁན་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་དེ་ང་རང་ཡིན་ཞེས་གསུངས་སོ།

And he said to him, “I am the Lord who brought you out from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess.”

15:8  འོན་ཀྱང་ཨབ་རམ་གྱིས་ལན་དུ།  བླ་ན་མེད་པའི་གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་དེ་ལྟར་བྱུང་བ་ངས་ཇི་ལྟར་ཤེས་སམ་ཞེས་འདྲི་པས།

But he said, “O Lord God, how am I to know that I shall possess it?”

15:9  ལན་དུ་ཁོང་གིས།  ངའི་མདུན་དུ་བ་ཕྱུགས་ལོ་གསུམ་པ་ཞིག་དང།  ར་མོ་ལོ་གསུམ་ལོན་པ་གཅིག།  ལུག་ལོ་གསུམ་ལོན་པ་གཅིག།  ཕུག་རོན་གཅིག་དང་འང་གུ་ཞིག་འཁྱེར་ཤོག་གསུངས་པ་དང་།

He said to him, “Bring me a heifer three years old, a female goat three years old, a ram three years old, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.”

15:10  ཨབ་རམ་གྱིས་དེ་རྣམས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་རྩར་འཁྱེར་ཡོང་ངོ་།  དེ་རྣམས་ཕྱེད་ཀ་བཏུབ་ནས་ཁག་གཉིས་སུ་བཞག་གོ  འོན་ཀྱང་བྱ་གཉིས་དེ་མ་བཏུབ་བོ།

And he brought him all these, cut them in half, and laid each half over against the other. But he did not cut the birds in half.

15:11  བྱ་རྒོད་རྣམས་ཤ་ཟ་ཕྱིར་བབ་པས། ཨབ་རམ་གྱིས་དེད་དོ།

And when birds of prey came down on the carcasses, Abram drove them away.

15:12  ཉི་མ་ནུབ་འགྲོ་བའི་སྐབས་སུ་ཨབ་རམ་ལ་གཉིད་ལྗིད་པོ་ཞིག་ཁུག་པ་དང་། འཇིགས་སྣང་ཆེན་པོ་ཞིག་ཁོ་ལ་བྱུང་ངོ་།

As the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram. And behold, dreadful and great darkness fell upon him.

15:13  གཙོ་བོ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཁོ་ལ་གསུངས་པ།  ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་མི་བརྒྱུད་རྣམས་ནི་གཞན་གྱི་ཡུལ་དུ་ཕྱི་མི་རྣམས་འབྱུང་ཡོང་།  དེར་ཁོང་ཚོས་བྲན་གཡོག་བྱས་ཏེ་ལོ་  ༤༠༠  བར་ཁོང་ཚོར་དབང་གནོན་བྱེད་ཡོང་།

Then the Lord said to Abram, “Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs and will be servants there, and they will be afflicted for four hundred years.

15:14  འོན་ཀྱང་དེ་རྣམས་ལ་བྲན་གཡོག་ཏུ་འགྱུར་བཅུག་མཁན་མི་རིགས་རྣམས་ལ་ངས་ཉེས་པ་བཏང་བར་བྱ།  དེ་ཚོ་ཕྱི་ཡུལ་ནས་ཐོན་སྐབས་ཁོང་ཚོས་རྒྱུ་ནོར་མང་པོ་འཁྱེར་བར་བྱའོ།

But I will bring judgment on the nation that they serve, and afterward they shall come out with great possessions.

15:15  ཁྱོད་རང་ལོ་རྒས་པའི་རྗེས་སུ་ཞི་བདེའི་ནང་ཤི་ནས་དུར་དུ་སྦས་པར་འགྱུར་རོ།

As for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried in a good old age.

15:16  མི་རབས་བཞིའི་རྗེས་སུ་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་མི་བརྒྱུད་རྣམས་ས་གནས་འདིར་ཡོང་བར་འགྱུར། གང་ལ་ཟེར་ན།  ཨ་མོར་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ལས་ངན་ཐམས་ཅད་མ་སྒྲུབ་བར་དུ་ངས་དེ་ཚོ་ལ་དེད་པར་མི་འགྱུར་གསུངས་སོ།

And they shall come back here in the fourth generation, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”

15:17  ཉི་མ་ནུབ་ནས་མུན་པ་བྱུང་བའི་ཚེ།  དེ་མ་ཐག་ཏུ་དུ་བ་ཐོན་བཞིན་མེའི་སྣོད་དང་འབར་བཞིན་པའི་མེ་ལྕེ་ཞིགམཐོང་བ་དང་།  སེམས་ཅན་དེ་ཚོའི་ཤའི་དཀྱིལ་ནས་ཕྱིན་ནོ།

When the sun had gone down and it was dark, behold, a smoking fire pot and a flaming torch passed between these pieces.

15:18  དེ་མ་ཉིད་དུ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཨབ་རམ་དང་དམ་བཅའ་མཛད་དེ་ཁོང་གིས་གསུངས་པ།  ཨི་ཇིབ་ཀྱི་ས་མཚམས་ནས་ཡུབ་རད་གཙང་པོ་ཆེན་པོའི་བར་དུ་ཡོད་པའི།

On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your offspring I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates,

15:19  ཀེ་ནེ་པ་དང་།  ཀེ་ནེ་ཛི་པ།  ཀད་མོ་པ།

the land of the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites,

15:20  ཧི་ཏི་པ་རྣམས།  པེ་རི་ཛི་པ།  རེ་ཕ་ཨིམ་པ།

the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim,

15:21  ཨ་མོར་པ་རྣམས།  ཀ་ནན་པ་རྣམས།  གྷིར་ག་ཤི་པ་རྣམས།  ཡ་བུ་སི་པ་ཚོའི་ཡུལ་དང་བཅས་པ་ངས་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་རིགས་བརྒྱུད་ལ་སྟེར་རོ༎

the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites and the Jebusites.”
