(པེ་ཏྲོ། ༡ 3:1-7)

དེ་བཞིན་དུ་ཁྱེད་ཆུང་མ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཁྱོ་གའི་དབང་ཆ་དང་ལེན་བྱེད་དགོས། དེ་ནི་ཁྱོ་གའི་ནང་ནས་ཁ་ཤས་ཀྱིས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་བཀའ་ལ་མ་ཉན་ཡང༌། ཁྱེད་ཚོའི་སྤྱོད་ལམ་ལྷད་མེད་ཅིང་བག་ཡོད་པ་མཐོང་ནས། ཤོད་མི་དགོས་པར་ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་སྤྱོད་ལམ་བཟང་པོས་འགུགས་པའི་ཆེད་དུ་ཡིན་ནོ།

མཛེས་སྡུག་ལྡན་པའི་ཕྱིར་མགོའི་སྐྲ་ལྷས་པའམ། གསེར་གྱི་རྒྱན་ཆའམ། རིན་ཆེ་བའི་གོས་ལ་སོགས་ལ་མ་བརྟེན་པར།

ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་རྒྱན་ཆ་ནི་ནང་སེམས་སུ་ནམ་ཡང་ཞི་འཇམ་ལྷིང་འཇགས་ཁོ་ན་དགོས་ཏེ། དེ་ནི་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་སྤྱན་སྔར་རིན་ཆེན་ཡིན།

གནའ་བོའི་དུས་སུ་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་རེ་བའི་བུད་མེད་དམ་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཁྱོ་གའི་དབང་ཆ་དང་ལེན་བྱེད་པ་དེ་རྒྱན་དུ་བརྩི།

དཔེར་ན། མེས་པོ་ས་རཱ་ཡིས་རང་གི་ཁྱོ་ག་ཨབ་ར་ཧམ་ལ་བདག་པོ་ཞེས་ཟེར་བས་ཁོང་གི་བཀའ་ལ་ཉན། ཅིས་ཀྱང་མི་འཇིགས་པར་བཟང་པོ་བྱས་ན་ཁྱེད་ཚོ་ནི་ཁོང་གི་བུ་མོ་ཡིན།

དེ་བཞིན་དུ་ཁྱེད་ཁྱོ་ག་རྣམས། ཆུང་མ་ལ་བཀུར་སྟི་བྱེད་ཅིང༌། སེམས་བཟང་པོས་ཁོ་མོ་དང་མཉམ་དུ་འཚོ་བ་སྐྱེལ། དེ་ལྟར་བྱས་ན་སོ་སོའི་སྨོན་ལམ་ལ་བར་ཆད་མི་འབྱུང༌། ཁོང་ཚོ་ཁྱེད་ལས་སྟོབས་ཆུང་ཡང༌། ཁྱེད་དང་མཚུངས་པར་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཐུགས་རྗེས་གནང་བའི་དཔག་ཏུ་མེད་པའི་ཚེ་འཛིན་མཁན་ཡིན།

 

 

(1 Peter 3:1-7)

Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct. Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are her children, if you do good and do not fear anything that is frightening.

Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

 

 

                           As Married Couples Live Your Lives Together Considerately

Three times Peter has urged believers, “Be subject …“ ( Chapter 2:13,18; 3:1); that is, be subject to the government, to employers, and now wives to husbands. How so? by giving them obedience and honor. But then he also says (verse 7) that husbands should “likewise” show respect to their wives. What to say? Because the man does have authority, and the woman has her different needs and her own desires, how can he be ‘likewise’ subject to her?

 

Let us read through these verses again and pray that God may teach us how our lives may be of precious value to him.

Peter explains:

Verses 1-6  ‘You wives be respectfully – but not fearfully – submissive. If your husband is not a believer, your purity and inner beauty may convert him to faith in Jesus.’

Verse 7  ‘You men, you have authority, but show it to your wives in a kind-hearted understanding way. Only if you do so, will you fully enjoy the favour of God, because he favours women and men equally with unfading life.’

བདེ་སྐྱིད་རྫོགས་ལྡན་དུས་ཤིག་མཐོང་འདོད་ན།།

ཚིག་རྩུབ་གཡོ་སྒྱུའི་ངན་གཏམ་མ་སྨྲ་ཞིག།

 ངན་པ་སྤངས་ནས་སྤྱོད་བཟང་སྤེལ་བ་དང༌།།

ཞི་མཐུན་ལམ་བཟང་རྟག་ཏུ་འཚོལ་ཤིག་ཨང༌།།

གང་ལགས་ཤེ་ན་དཀོན་མཆོག་སྤྱན་ཉིད་ཀྱིས།།

དྲང་ལྡན་པ་རྣམས་གཟིགས་པར་འགྱུར་བ་དང༌།།

སྙན་ཅོག་གཏོད་ནས་ཁོ་ཚོའི་སྨོན་ལམ་གསན།།

འོན་ཏེ་ངན་སྤྱོད་མཁན་ལ་ཞལ་སློག་གོ།

 

(1 Peter 3:8-12)

Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. For

“Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

 

 

                                    As Brothers be United and a Blessing to Others

You believers both receive love and give love to one another.

If you receive evil from anyone, don’t give evil back.

God hears all that you pray; he knows all that you do. So give blessing to others, and unfading blessing you will receive.

ཁྱེད་ལ་ཡོད་པའི་ཐར་པའི་རེ་བ་དེའི་རྒྱུ་མཚན་སྐོར་འདྲི་མཁན་ལ་སེམས་དུལ་བ་དང་གུས་པས་ལན་འདེབས་རྒྱུར་རྒྱུན་དུ་གྲ་སྒྲིག་བྱས་ཏེ་སྡོད།

མཱ་ཤི་ཀའི་སྤྱོད་ལམ་བཟང་པོར་སྨད་ར་གཏོང་མཁན་རྣམས་ནི་ངོ་ཚ་རུ་འགྱུར་བའི་ཕྱིར་ཁྱེད་ཚོས་གནོངས་མེད་པ་བྱེད་དགོས།

སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་བ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཐུགས་དགོངས་ཡིན་ན། ངན་པ་ལས་བཟང་པོ་བྱེད་པའི་ཕྱིར་སྡུག་བསྔལ་མྱོང་བ་ལེགས་སོ།

ངེད་རྣམས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་མདུན་དུ་འཁྲིད་པའི་ཕྱིར། མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་དྲང་བདེན་གྱིས་དྲང་བདེན་མིན་པའི་སྡིག་ཉེས་སེལ་བའི་དོན་དུ་ཐེངས་གཅིག་གྲོངས། སྐུ་ལུས་ཀྱི་ཆ་ནས་གྲོངས་ཀྱང༌། ཐུགས་ཉིད་ཀྱི་སྒོ་ནས་གསོན།

ཁོང་གིས་ཐུགས་ཉིད་བརྒྱུད་ནས་བཙོན་ལ་ཕེབས་ཏེ་དེར་ཡོད་པའི་སེམས་ཉིད་རྣམས་ལ་ཆོས་བསྟན་གནང༌།

ཁོ་ཚོ་ནི་སྔར་ནོ་ཨ་ཡིས་གྲུ་གཟིངས་བཟོ་བའི་དུས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གིས་ཐུགས་རྒྱུད་རིང་པོས་སྒུག་གནང་བའི་སྐབས་སུ་བཀའ་ལ་མ་ཉན་པ་རྣམས་ཡིན། གྲུ་གཟིངས་དེ་ལ་བསྡད་ནས་ཆུ་ལོག་ལས་མི་ཉུང་ངུ་ཞིག་སྟེ་མི་བརྒྱད་ལས་ཐར་མེད།

ཆུ་དེ་ནི་ཡེ་ཤུ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་སླར་གསོན་པའི་སྒོ་ནས་ད་ལྟ་ཁྱེད་ཚོ་ཐར་བར་བྱེད་པའི་ཁྲུས་གསོལ་མཚོན། ལུས་ཀྱི་མི་གཙང་བ་དག་པར་བྱེད་པ་མ་ཡིན་གྱིས། གནོངས་མེད་པར་འགྱུར་བའི་ཕྱིར་དཀོན་མཆོག་ལ་རེ་འབོད་བྱེད་པ་ཞིག་ཡིན།

ཡེ་ཤུ་མཱ་ཤི་ཀ་ནི་ཞིང་ཁམས་སུ་ཕེབས་ནས་དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཕྱག་གཡས་སུ་བཞུགས་ཏེ། དཀོན་མཆོག་གི་ཕོ་ཉ་དང༌། དབང་ལྡན། མཐུ་ལྡན་རྣམས་ཁོང་གི་དབང་འོག་ཏུ་ཡོད་དོ།།

 

 

(1 Peter 3:13-22)

Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.

For Christ also suffered[b] once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed[d] to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.

 

 

                                      Let Us Live with Confidence in Christ’s Victory

Overall Summary

Our living a godly life (v.13) and speaking humbly (15) may lead to opposition and suffering. But Christ has won the victory over sin for us (vv.18, 22). Believers must honour Christ as Lord (v.15), and trust that He will one day bring them safely to God (v.18).

Explanation regarding our ancestor Noah (v.20)

When the Great Flood came upon the earth long ago, God told Noah to build a boat (v.20); it was a big boat called an ark (You can read about it in the Book of Genesis, Chapter 6, 7 and 8). The Jews to whom Peter was writing knew the story very well – how Noah was surrounded by godless people and he urged them to repent, or else they would die by drowning; but they mocked him for his words and building work.

Peter’s believing readers, like Noah, were surrounded by unbelievers; and that is true of us believers in Jesus Christ today. Both then and now God waits patiently for men all around us to obey him.

Finally, however, the Flood came, and only Noah and his family went up out of the water and escaped into the boat.

Explanation regarding baptism (v.21)

Noah’s acceptance of God’s way of escape from drowning, writes Peter, is like a man taking baptism. It is an act to show this person’s desire to be cleared of sin by God. In being baptized this man would be dipped under water – in a river or pond, if possible –  and then come up out of the water showing he or she wanted to live a new life with the help of Jesus.

Baptism is not for washing the body, but it is for the clearing of our sins (v.21). It is a person’s appeal to God, ‘Please, God, give me a clean heart with a good conscience because I am trusting for salvation in Christ’s victory over all obstacles and opposition.’
